Topic: Hygiene at Intec’s Bathrooms

Specific Purpose: Get the audience to know about the lack of hygiene in Intec’s bathrooms and create

consciousness about keeping it clean.

Central Idea: Detect lack of hygiene in Intec’s bathrooms

INTRODUCTION

I. The Attention Step: Can you imagine how many bacteria are in a clean restroom? Well, now

picture yourself in a dirty one.

II. The Need Step

A. Students are being negatively affected by the hygiene at Intec’s bathrooms. Restroom

cleanliness is very important to the facility. An unsanitary restroom can lead to germs

that can affect us , also allergies or bacteria which can cause diseases. That’s one

reason why restrooms need to be cleaned daily and frequently depending on its use.

We are objectively interested in solving it or backing up a solution, that’s why we

came with different kinds of methods to prove that there’s actually a problem that

needs to be solved.

 We made an online survey showing the perspective of the teachers,

collaborators and students based on the hygiene in the different bathrooms at

Intec. Concluding that the dirtiest bathrooms are the GC and AJ.

 We also manage to do a discrete interview to the cleaning team to get their

point of view of this hygiene problem. They explained the main problem that

Is the bad use that this bathroom receives and the lack of education in how to
 properly use a restroom. They highlighted that it wasn’t how many times

they cleaned the bathrooms what matters, it’s all based on the hygiene

students have and the bad use that students give to this bathroom. Based on

evidence and what they said students leave unflushed toilets, paper tossed in

the floor and among other disgusting things every day.

 We gathered the necessary evidence to prove our main problem we

photograph the bathrooms with water problems, disgusting floors and

unavailable dirty bathrooms. Beyond this we proved that students don’t know

how to flush a toilet nor how to use the bathrooms.

B. Grow consciousness in those who frequently use the bathrooms to guarantee the

effectiveness of the cleaning teams work. Sometimes the public isn’t well educated

with maintaining a well hygiene, specially the public ones.

 The most important aspect of good bathroom hygiene is washing your hands

after using, or cleaning, the toilet. This helps prevent cross-contamination of

surfaces with pathogens from your hands.

 Toilet hygiene also means closing the toilet lid before flushing and avoiding

splashing during use.

C. The cleaning team needs to be aware whenever the restrooms are out of their utilities

likes paper towel, toilet paper, soup or in rare cases water ran out.

 Restrooms at Intec, especially the most used ones ran out of their utilities like

paper towel. On important aspect of hygiene is for the public to wash their

hands, but raning out of paper towel may cause for the public to avoid

washing their hands.

III. Satisfaction Step

A. Do a campaign with posters in the bathrooms to educate students, personal and

any user of this facility.

 Posters will contain using words and images a direct message to the

bathrooms users

B. Posters on the walls maybe after entering the bathrooms that contains publicity

about preventing bacteria and being more clean.

 By doing this we will be educating or reminding the bathrooms users about

the importance of hygiene.

C. Do a letter suggesting being more aware of the utilities of the bathroom, this
letter will be delivered in the suggestion box located in admissions.

 This will guarantee the evaluation of this problem because the letter will
include a significant number of signatures and it will be delivered as a polite
suggestion to get better results. For example better hygiene bathrooms.
