ANSWERS

MOTION
1. Measure of the distance moved by an object in a certain time
2. Speed of light
3. When an object increases its speed / Measure of gain in speed over certain time
period. Caused by unbalanced forces.
4. Describes the movement of an object – will keep moving at same speed until
something slows it.
5. Speed of object and its mass.

GRAVITY
1. Force of attraction between any two object in the Universe.
2. Same time – because even though more massive objects experience greater
gravity force, it is also harder for gravity force to move it because it is so massive.
3. Upthrust: force of water pushing up
Displacement: water is disrupted out of place
Floating: above surface of water – doesn’t sink
Sinking: goes below surface of water – doesn’t float
Density: mass of substance

ENERGY
1. Energy of moving object
2. Stored energy that isn’t active yet (can be chemical, nuclear, elastic, etc.)
3. Eg. electric blanket that is switched on transforms electrical energy into heat
energy.
Eg2. When you kick a ball, kinetic energy from moving foot transferred to ball.
4. Eenrgy cannot be created or destroyed. Energy can only be changed from one form
to another.

HEAT
1. Allows passing of energy along object from particle to particle.
2. Doesn’t allow transfer of heat/ energy to occur frequently.
3. Particles increase in kinetic energy so in solids, they vibrate faster as they heat up.
Particles in liquid and gas move faster and further as they heat.

ELECTROMAGNETISM
1. Gamma rays, x- rays, UV waves, Light waves, infrared waves, microwaves, radio
waves.
