Abstract:

The influence of science and technology on people’s lives is growing with the expansion of new
age gadgets. These gadgets have entirely transformed the ways students communicate and live
their lives. Now, every information is moved from board to smart devices like smart phones,
iPads etc. and easily available on the move. +Many teachers from various branches are
adapting e-learning approaches in their classroom that has become an essential segment in
their profession. Students appreciate web-based learning in terms of accessibility, sourcing
their notes, and flexible hours. This has established a bond between the students and the virtual
teaching. This platform also permits the teacher to access numerous graphic tools which aid
and prove as an innovative methodology that speaks more than “just words” [1]. The objective
of this paper is to present a reformed curriculum for physics by using the ICT technologies that
will reflect the enhanced approach of e-learning for the wired generation.

Keywords: e-Learning, Virtual learning and teaching, wired generation, Web based learning and
ICT technologies.

E-LEARNING MANIFESTO: A NEW VISION FOR TEACHNING PHYSICS USING E-TOOLS
IN HIGHER EDUCATION

[1] Introduction: The geNext Information Era...

Teaching and learning are a rapidly changing system. The interdisciplinary approach of E-
learning and M-learning in 21st century is highly adaptable and cost-effectiveness approach to
world class learning. It is broadly accepted that e-learning is very much needed for the future
of geNext. Technology has unlocked the doors of learning in enormous ways, and as a outcome
the classroom, the apprentices, and the mentors are all changed beings today. The exposure to
new-fangled technologies has led to a breach between the levels of education or coaching that an
apprentice expects from his mentor [2]. In Traditional approach, teaching is concerned with the
teacher being the controller of the learning environment. On the other hand, the IT technologies
such as Smart Phones, Tablets, Google Glass, Digital pens, and many more prove to be more
innovative approach of anytime anywhere learning. The use of e-learning tools is especially
useful for the practical work in science labs where students can watch live demonstration of their
practical assignment. This will work as a motivation gear for them to conduct self -learning with
the system [3]. E-learning requires many hardware and software resources to run efficiently. With
the support of Cloud computing paradigm, it provides suitable computing resources for E-
learning applications. “Cloud computing” is the geNext revolution towards the progression of on-
demand IT services and products for its end users.

[2] E-learning: Acquiring Knowledge On The Move...

E-learning is defined as learning conducted via e-media i.e. using the virtual environment. It
delivers a web-based, open-air real time curriculum outside of traditional classroom. e-contents
in the form of videos, slide shows, PDFs, satellite broadcast, communicate with the instructors
via chat and many others. An efficient use of remote resources, where traditional education has
difficulty operative. With this facility, distance education can be more flexible in terms of time
and can be delivered virtually while on the move [4].

[3] Approaches of our Research:

Approaches of our research are: How much e-learning is effective with the aid of modern
technologies in field of education sector and act as a motivation tool for students' .

[3.1] Statement findings:

At high schools and in higher education the chalk talk and white board marker method is used
most often. The White Book for practical work in the project days, is the only way to get an
practical learning environment. The apprentices are separated into groups, the problem that has
been given by the mentor for each group has to solve is to do out-door experiments and result is
to posted on worksheets.

[4] Discussions:
In-service professors wants to adopt new methods of learning to change the current system of
education. For the theoretical portion interactive web based lectures and tutorials should be
available 24/7. For the practical part, the following training methods are used:

Volume XI, Issue VIII, August 17, www.ijcea.com ISSN 2321-3469

 Learners enhancement in e-Learning production.

 Background knowledge to be learnt before practical work.
 Increase virtual interest.
 Interactive online Seminars.
 Computer based Research Activities.

[5] Benefits of E-learning: It's what learners want – really

 User-friendly approach
 Real time and self- Paced learning at a Glance.
 Mentors are more accessible.
 Freedom to learn across any location where they want.
 Fast delivery of information.
 Cuts the travel cost and saves time.
 24*7 availability of training sessions using 3G and 4G technologies.
 Improved retention rate and a stronger grasp on the subject.
 Reduce in carbon footprint and adoption of greener environment.
 Several prospects for online advice of credit based choice systems.
 Experiencing a new sense of equality to speak and post blogs openly
 Shy and anxious students sometimes open up.
 Teachers and students are interconnected virtually without the constraint of physical
attendance [5] [6].

[6] Interactive Tools for Physics

[6.1] Physion: Boost Physics with Powerful Motion Simulation Technology
Physion is a 2D Physics simulation software tool for wide range of interactive physics simulations
and educational experiments. This e-tool is used to demonstrate basic physics concepts in the
classroom. In this platform, the students will use the e-tools of Physion and can create numerous
physical objects like circles, polygons, gears, etc. This virtual physics will follow the law of
physics and can create any experiment imaginable. It runs on Windows Platform. Interactive
Physics explores and open new doors for e-learning for learners and empowers them to:

 Real life Applications with motion tools.

 Comfortable course integration without expensive lab setup.
 Envision the conceptual scientific models taught in the classroom.
 Prepare visually attractive presentations by attaching graphics to objects.
 Create innovative experiments with pre-designed physics to measure: velocity, acceleration,
force, momentum, energy, etc., in metric or English units.
 Displays the properties of objects that the students unable to see in a lab, for e.g., vectors or
the path of a body.
 24/7 availability of simulation examples [7] [8].

[6.2] Algodoo: New-fangled synergy between Science and Art

Algodoo is an amazing unique 2D-simulation software for the science classes. This software is a
perfect tool which emboldens students to explore physics, build amazing creations, design
interactive games or experiment in a playful manner. This technology is based on highly
competitive interactive simulation that is best for high performance numerical methods. The
program opens like a regular drawing tool. Select, click and drag and you’re able to draw the real
objects. This software also contains an online repository of scenes that other people have created.
The main advantage of Algodoo is that it runs on Windows and Mac OS. It is also optimized for
the interactive SMART Board. Algodoo, with its amicable interface, it is suitable for all ages and
can facilitate:

 Add-on training and instructions are also available to watch numerous videos and webinars
that exist from links Algodoo.
 The algodoo gateway empowers educators to exchange their opinions, lectures and
conclusion work, as well as collaborative work between apprentices.
 Algodoo offers Graphical User Interface that offers several moveable toolbars i.e. simulation
controls/environment toolbar, and the properties toolbar.
 Algodoo helps to close the gap between “entirely distanced learning” and gripping to solve
real-world design problems.
 It offers real time plotting of multiple quantities, from positions, velocity & acceleration and
angular momentum to different forms of energy.
 Design and test robots in virtual environments before the physical robots are built.
 Students can take screen shots, photos or video clips of their experiments to prove their
conclusions.
 Round the clock availability of tutorials[9][10].

[7] Conclusion:
This paper has introduced an advanced approach of computer simulations in the field of Physics
Education using e-tools. These e-tools are very productive for the advanced learning process in
this fast competitive world. The traditional educational system is limited to classrooms such as
textbooks, demonstrations in labs, group discussions and even more. But, the new e-learning
technologies in the 21st era form the backbone of the new educational infrastructure. This learning
management system acts as a motivational tool for the computer assisted laboratory. On the other
side, World Wide Web act as an important source of information or even as a learning device. In
the coming years, E-Learning has become a key module in universities and colleges. This
framework will be a greater need to shift traditional classroom system into e-learning paradigm.
