Informal Writing

I feel as though I knew a fairly good amount of information on my topic because a lot of

what was said I watched on the news. However, I learned a lot more about my topic through

researching and am still learning more everyday just from reading the news. I used the M.E.A.T

method to write this paper (main topic, example, analysis, then Tie in). I most comfortable

writing with this style because it is what I was taught in high school. I think I have improved as a

writer because I was challenged to really find a topic that not only I was interested in but also

had a lot information to discuss. However, I still need to work on my run on sentences and

transitions between paragraphs. A problem I encountered writing this piece developing a thesis

because I didn’t have any three major point that I would usually address in my thesis. I don’t feel

that this writing is my best work because comparing and contrasting is a difficult style of writing

for me when it comes to finding examples, but if I were to grade myself I would give myself a

C+.
