Content Standards:
By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to :
2.2 demonstrate understanding of a variety of linear and non-linear
text in the form of print and non-print materials using a range of
strategies construct meaning.
Learning Standards:
2.2.3 Able to read and understand simple and compound
sentences.
Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
1. read 5 sentences and match to the correct pictures.
2. Correct the spelling for the 5 underlined words.
Activities:
1. Set induction
a. Teacher distributes each group a set of picture puzzles.
b. Pupils arrange the puzzles and name the occupation.
2. Pre-reading activity
a. Teacher introduces the words on occupations and asks
pupils to spell the words.
4. Post-reading activity.
a. Pupils discuss the questions in the CD in their groups.
b. Each group leader will present their answers with reasons.
5. Closure
a. Teacher carries out the “Spell It Right” game.
