1. The Definition Of Procedure Text

Procedure text is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved
through a sequence of actions or steps. It explains how people perform different processes in
a sequence of steps. This text uses simple present tense, often imperative sentences. It also
uses the temporal conjunction such as first, second, then, next, finally, etc.
2. Purpose of a Procedure Text
The purpose of a procedure is to tell the reader how to do or make something. The
information is presented in a logical sequence of events, which is broken up into small
sequenced steps. The most common example of a procedural text is a recipe.

3. Generic Structure of Procedure

1.Goal : It is containt the purpose of the text. (e.g : How to make spagheti)

2.Material or Ingredient : it is containt of the materials that used in the process. (e.g : the
material to cook omelette are egg, onion, vegetable oil, etc)

3.Step : it is containt of the steps to make something in the goal. (e.g : first, wash the
tomatoes, onion, ...., second cut the onions becomes slice. . . )

4. Language Features of Procedure Text

In the Procedure Text, we use

 SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE. And:

 Use of imperatives (e.g.: cut, don’t mix)
 Use of action verbs (e.g.: turn, put, mix)
 Use of connectives (e.g. : first, then, finally, …)
 Use of adverbial phrases (e.g. : for five minutes, 2 centimeters from the top)

Material :

Steps:

 First, Connect the charger to your hand phone, the flash symbol on the charger
plug must face upward.
 Second, Wait until the battery icon appears on the screen
 After that, Charge battery approximately 3 hours until the battery icon indicates
that the battery is fully charged
 And Then Removed the charger by pulling out from your hand phone.

HOW TO MAKE A CUP OF COFFEE

MATERIALS AND INGEDIENTS :

- 2 spoons of sugar
- one spoon of coffee powder
- hot water
- a cup
- a spoon
Steps :
1. Prepare two spoons of sugar, a cup, hot water, one spoon of coffee powder, a spoon.
2. Put one spoon of coffee powder into the cup.
3. Pour some hot water into the cup.
4. Add 2 spoons of sugar into a cup of coffee
5. Stir it well and the hot coffee is ready to drink

HOW TO MAKE INDOMIE FRIED NOODLE

MATERIALS :
- One pack of instant noodle
- Water

STEPS :
- First, boil two glasses of water in a pan.
- Then, open the package of Indomie fried noodles.
- While waiting for the water to boil, pour the seasoning: chili sauce, soya sauce and
oil into a bowl.
- After the water is boiled, drain the noodles.
- Next, throw away the water.
- Then, pour the noodles into the bowl.
- After that, mix the noodles with the seasoning, sauce, and the other ingredients.
- Now, your noodles are ready.
HOW TO MAKE FRIED RICE

INGREDIENTS :
- a plate of rice
- 1 red chili pepper chopped
- 1 clove garlic chopped fine
- 1 clove chopped onion
- pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp margarine
-2tbspsoyasauce

STEPS :
1. Crush the red pepper, garlic and onion until very fine.
2. Add the salt and saute in margarine over low heat for 2 minutes.
3. Add the rice and soya sauce
5. Stir until well mixed and rice is hot.
