ANOINTING FOR GREATNESS

TEXT: Ps 89:20-23; Acts 13:21-22

To be great is to be unstoppable, to be the head, to excel and to succeed where others have failed.

Anointing is the supernatural endowment from God that enables man to do extraordinary things that
are beyond human ability. When we talk about anointing, we talk about:

1. The power of God Luke 1: 34-35

2. The spirit of God Luke 4:18
3. The hands and the backing of God Neh 8:18

Anointing for greatness is the supernatural power of God and his spirit that will make you excel,
achieve your goals, possess your possession and rule over your enemies.

For example, Joseph got to the peak of his career as a prime minister in a foreign land because the
spirit of God was found in him Gen 41:38. Zech 4:6 says, “Not by might, not by power but by my Spirit,
says the Lord.”

Isaac waxed great and grew exceedingly because he had the backing of the Lord Gen 26:1-5; 12-14.

David became great, killed his Goliath and ruled over the nation of Israel because of the anointing and
because he was God’s favourite.

What to Be Done to Be Unstoppable

a. Be a part of God’s household Eph 1:19; and know the God that you serve. Dan 11:32.
b. Be an addicted person of the word of God. A tireless reader (eater) and doer of the word of
God. Josh 1:8; Jer 15:16
c. Always see advantages in adversity Num 13:25-33
d. Take to instructions Num 27:5-11 and always do things right Jer 35:13-16
e. Seek the Lord with all your zeal. Ps 24 : 6

In conclusion, as you too will find his word and ‘eat’ it like Jeremiah, take to instructions of your
heavenly father like the son of Rechab and seek him in this new dispensation. You will be raised up,
lifted and highly exalted. Isa 52:13.
