SWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)

Select (S):
Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing
Phonic lesson about new sound. The student will be able to know the sound of the letter and now some
new words.

Describe (D):
 Who is the lesson for?
The lesson it was about sound /w/
 Where did the lesson take place?
The lesson it was in Sunday morning at 8.30 to 9.00am.
 What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?
I was trying to achieve in my lesson to let the students to know the sound /w/ and know some
new words start with the letter.
 What did the students do?
The student was very helpful and they understand the lesson and they enjoy it. Especially the last
activity they enjoy it so much and all students were want to answer.

Analyze (A):
 Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
The way I was teaching the student is like a game and the student didn’t feel board while I teach
the lesson. for example, for explaining some subjects with the sound /w/. I bring a mystery box
and let the student to guess the subjects inside the box.
 How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding?
The students are already known all phonic but they don’t know the sound of the letter. some of the
students ‘high level student’ already recognize the letter and know some words start with the letter
and some of them gave me words I didn’t think they will give it to me for example ‘what, wow,
wonder’
 How well did you engage the students?
I engaged the students at the opining activity with a game to come and choose the word or the
letter I asked them about. The students enjoy the game and want to play it more but I give the
engaging time five minutes so I tell them that we will play it in the centers time.

Appraise (A):
Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective
Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?

The lesson was understandable and the students enjoy the lesson so much and the activates too. Since it
was the first class of the sound some students weren’t engaging and answering but I tried with them to
assess them. Overall, the lesson succeeded
Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
The only thing my MST and my MCT told me that I didn’t wait for the student enough to let them answer
but over all the lesson is went well. So next time I will give the students more time to let them answer and
thing about 10 to 15 second.
What are the implications for your professional practice?
The classroom management went well and my voice was too clear for the students.
