Adverbs describe verbs (actions). They give more detail about the action.
Adverbs that do this are: very, extremely, really, totally, absolutely, quite, fairly, well. These are
normally placed before the adjective.
Types of Adverbs
There are many types of adverbs, such as:
He speaks clearly.
When there is an object, the adverb is usually placed after the verb + object:
However, adverbs are never positioned between the verb and the object.
Subject + to be + adverb
We use hardly ever and never with positive, not negative verbs:
We can also use the following expressions when we want to be more specific about the
frequency:
- every day - once a month - twice a year - four times a day - every other week
