When you feel that you are stuck with too many stimuli, it may be time to unwind and

relax.

Spiritual practice is just as much about active life as it is about your resting life. Every experience

on either of these spectrums can bring huge influxes of information, more questions, and

sometimes we get overloaded. Between the shifting energies of the starts changing our focus, to

the season changes, political hubbub, and drama of daily life, we may become quickly

overwhelmed with a myriad of energies pulling us in too many directions. This ritual is used when

you feel you are being pulled in too many directions and need to simplify.

This ritual focuses on what we define as ‘important’ or vital. Whether this is underlying

stimuli and motivations, or direct stimuli occurring daily, if these energies are still present in our

aura, they can cause our priorities and interpretations of the world to become skewed and

stressful. Working in this way, it is important to take time to release yourself of responsibilities

that you may passively agree to or assume in our lives. A hard reset takes a few parts, and so this

ritual involves some release, reflection, and a period of blessed rest.

In addition, after a large cleansing, we want to make sure that we know why we are doing

it, and what we want to achieve after these draining energetic shackles have been removed.
• White Pillar Candle
• Small Bowl of Salt
• Small Bowl of Sugar
• Medium Bowl of Water (must have room to add salt and sugar into it)
• A safe place to sleep

Beginning Incantation/Intention Setting

To start your ritual, we recommend you find about an hour or two of free time at the end of your
day. This ritual cleansing should be done before you go to bed. Start by gathering the items for a
small altar. You will need to use the white candle, salt, water, and sugar in this part of the ritual.

1.) Set up your altar by placing the white candle on a table or flat surface in front of you.
Place the bowl of salt to the left of the candle, the bowl of water in front of the candle,
and the bowl of sugar to the right of the candle.
2.) Once you have laid things out, light the white candle and say the following:
Here I sit before the powers of the Universe,

With this white light, I call forth all powers of cleansing and renewal,

See this flame as it is my spirit and soul,

Let it be cleansed and purified with your aid.

3.) Next take the bowl of salt and hold it in your hands. Take the salt and sprinkle three
pinches over the candle flame. Each time, say the following words:
In this world there is salty brine,

In waves that crash it does refine,

Pebbles stones and boulders smooth,

A sign that hardships do improve.

4.) Lift the bowl of salt above your head with the intention of protection and strength. Allow
the salt in the bowl to absorb all your perceived imperfections and flaws. Return the bowl
to its spot on the altar.
5.) Next take the bowl of sugar and hold it in your hands. Take the sugar and sprinkle six
pinches over the candle flame. Each time, say the following words:
The food of life,

A precious gift,

May I be blessed,

As I shall live.

6.) Lift the bowl of salt above your head with the intention of abundance and peace. Allow
the sugar in the bowl to absorb the sour moments in your life that need healing. Return
the bowl to its spot on the altar.
7.) Next take the candle and hold it up in front of you. Say the following incantation.
My old light,

Let be replaced,

With happiness,

and worldly grace.

8.) Drop the candle into the bowl of water so that the flame is extinguished. Pour the salt into
the bowl of water, and the sugar as well. Then say, ‘So mote it be!’
9.) Thank the powers you have called forth in your ritual for their aide and guidance.
Welcome them to stay as you continue but indicate that their assistance is no longer
necessary. (Stay if you will, go if you must. Hail and Thankyou…is a typical way to phrase
this.) You may add your own additional prayers and intentions for cleansing now.
10.) Leave this on your altar overnight.
11.) Pour this mixture out as a libation upon the Earth the next morning so that these
energies may be repurposed as mother nature sees fit.
After you have completed the ritual above come to a seated position for meditation. This

meditation is very simple. Place your hands into the bowl in the previous ritual and close your

eyes. Begin to focus on the energies that have been pulled from you during your ritual. It is time

to meet with them so you may learn more about them and why they have come to you.

Visualize these energies in the following ways while keeping your hands in the bowl:

1.) Imagine you are staring at a large whiteboard/chalkboard.

2.) A man enters the room and begins to draw on the board. As he draws, you see scenes
start to form.
3.) Pay attention to the scenes and exchanges you see. These may be symbolic
representations of the energies, memories, people, places, etc. that have significance.
4.) If you must, ask the man what he is drawing and why. He may answer you in words,
by writing on the board, or respond with facial expressions or hand signals (thumbs
up/down) to your questions.
5.) When he puts the chalk/marker down, thank him for coming to ‘teach you’. He will
disappear into the periphery of your vision.
6.) You may open your eyes.
Blessed Renewal Slumber Ritual
After you have completed your meditation. Take some time to reflect, write notes, and
think about what you have seen/experienced. Set your intention for life after this cleanse. You are
getting ready to allow your higher powers, guides, and the forces around you to finish your
cleanse while you sleep. The salt, sugar, and water in the bowl is where they will siphon this
energy.

To begin, set your intentions by reading a list you have written. State what you want to
stop doing, what you want to start doing more of, how you would like to feel, what you would like
to feel less of, how you would like to help others and the world, and how you would like to
receive help from others and the world. Say these intentions out loud.

Then, stand next to your bed, or where you will be resting. Face it and bring your hands
together in a prayer position with your legs spread shoulder width apart. Close your eyes and
bend your knees exhaling out as you go. Make sure to keep your hands at the same level as the
rest of your body moves downward. Continue this motion, breathing in as you ascend, and out as
you descend, crouching lower each time. After you have done this for a minute or so, come to one
final position, the lowest you have gone, and stretch your arms as high as you can while keeping
them in a prayer position. Hold this position for as long as you can without falling.

Next, take a deep breath in and stand up straight and lift your hands above your head, still
clasped together as you do so. Turn your hands so that they are facing out and bring them down
slowly to fold over one another behind you. Feel that you are pushing a great weight of energy
away from you as you make this motion. This is the energy that does not match with your
grounded intentions for after your cleansing.

Turn around with your hands still overlapped behind you. Bring your dominant hand
forward, and place your pointer finger to your lips as if you are telling someone ‘Shhh!’. Lean
forward slightly in a sarcastic way as you blow air past your finger without making a noise. Then
say, ‘You are not welcome in my bed, go now - sleep you with the dead!’. You may now go to
sleep. If you are not physically able to perform this ritual because of its physicality, you may sit in
the place you are about to sleep and visualize these actions. Make sure to still do the ‘shushing’
part and say the incantation in real life.
Discussion
This ritual may bring up many past feelings and emotions. Most often it will bring your
attention to current scenarios and forces of resistance in your life. If you have not done a ritual
cleansing in a while, you may need to do this for a longer period, or you may need to do it several
times in small increments if you feel it is overwhelming to do. Since sleeping is part of the
cleansing process in this ritual, do not feel worried that you may not have ‘done enough’. See
how you are feeling the next day after you return the mixture on your altar to the Earth.

You should feel dramatic energetic shifts as you perform this ritual. You may feel very
heavy the next morning or experience the sensation of having ‘stone legs’. This is a combination
of a hollow feeling and it almost feels like having a cast removed from your body. This initial
sensation should subside, if you experience it at all, after you have returned the mixture to the
Earth.

It may take a few days for you to begin feeling more upbeat and positive. For the first few
days, make sure and return to your intentions and try to remind yourself of them every morning
before you start your day. Keep a journal of your experiences and make sure to relate them back
to your intentions and the visions you saw during your meditation.
