Powerful Faces

Purpose: To increase collective cultural pride and inspiration in our

classroom and to recognize great leaders who have fought unjust
systems and ideas.

Project Description: In this project you will choose to either work

on a collective artistic piece or an individual piece. The following
are ideas for collective/individual pieces. Remember to choose the
option that is most empowering and personal to you. (If you have
your own idea please make sure it is ok
with Profe. before beginning)

Collective Piece Ideas:

 Declaration of rights
 Poster of black historical figure
 Mural project

Individual Piece Ideas:

 Poem honoring black historical figure
 Drawing honoring black historical figure
 Speech honoring black historical figure
 A letter to a political figure addressing
systemic injustices occurring in the Baltimore City community.

Requirements:
 Your piece must have at least two drafts
 Your work must honor/reflect/advocate for black
history or culture
 You must write a reflection on the experience and what
you learned from it
