And, finally… In 2015, Sustainable Development goals was agreed by 189 countries in
all around the world. That’s why, I knew that Sustainable Development Goals itself was a
renewal project of Millennium Development Goals by the United Nations in 2015. It has 17
goals, such as: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Climate
Action, Quality Education, Reduced inequalities, etc. And of course, each goal had specific
target to be achieved over the next 15 years. Internet said that SDG is a good action to end
poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. I think the new
chapter of sustainable development itself aims to improve the quality of environment, social,
economic and eradicate the poverty also inequalities in this planet. And now, let me tell you
some ideas I have as a student of Sam Ratulangi University. I would like to write some
explanations about my opinion. So……….. Here we go:
As we know, Indonesia is the 4th country with the largest population in the world. Many
people of Indonesia are suffering. Poverty, inequality, corruption, the poor facilities of health and
education are real challenges in this country. “Children from poor households don’t have the
same opportunities in education as children of the rich” is an example of inequalities that
occurred in our beloved Indonesia. The case of malnutrition in Asmat, Papua as the hottest news
nowadays is also another example of the problems facing in Indonesia. According to SDG 2 nd
goal, which is zero hunger, I hope malnutrition in Indonesia would eradicate as soon as possible.
The constitution in Indonesia told that “freedom is the right of all nations.” The statement clearly
explains that every one of us should gain freedom to live, to gain proper education, to have
proper job, to gain justice, to gain the facilities of heath, etc. Sustainable development goals is
very good solution to eradicate poverty in Indonesia and delete inequalities in this country. As a
student of Sam Ratulangi University, i hope that Sustainable development goals would become a
perfect solution to make Indonesia better in every single way rather than before. And yes, cause
Sustainable development goals itself aims to improve this planet; I also hope that SDG can reach
all countries so that SDG could be realized in 2030. As an Indonesia citizen, I hope that
Indonesia Government could reduce the inequalities even eradicate it in our beloved Nusantara.
