Meet the Coaches
Michael Miller Head Coach
Coach Miller enters his first year at the helm of the Lady Bruins. He previously
was the Lady Bruin assistant coach for the last 3 years under two different head
coaches. Coach Miller was part of the most successful stretch in KCC Softball
history, winning the MCCAA State Championship Tournament, being the Western
Conference League Champion, and reaching the District I Championship game for
the first time in school history.
Coach Miller was also an Assistant Coach during the 2008 season where the team
was 18-14 in conference play and 26-23 overall. At that time, the 26 wins were the
most in school history.
Coach Miller brings a wealth of softball knowledge to the team. His enthusiasm
for the game is contagious and he is excited for his opportunity to become a head
coach for the first time in his career.
Coach Barea graduated from Olivet College with 8 varsity letters in Golf and
Baseball, he was a part of five (5) MIAA Championships, captured All-League
honors twice (2) and MVP in golf, and All-League in Baseball while at Olivet.
Coach Barea was inducted into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.
Coach Barea was the Varsity Softball Coach at Harper Creek High School during
the years of 2004-2011 and coached the Beavers to two (2) SMAC League
Championships and one (1) District Championship under his helm. He is
simultaneously an Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Harper Creek and has been
since 2012.
Bruce is married to his wife Anne and has two children; daughter Leigh
and son Mickey.
