In order to write an essay you need to know exactly what examiners are looking for
in your task 1-2.
One of the main area is task
achievement. You need to answer questions properly. If you answer questions it
means that your lexical resources are relevant, however if you use a wide range of
vocabulary but you don't answer questions, you will lose marks in task achievement
and lexical resources both.

1. It's all About Concentration
2. You can't afford to lose attention for even 3 seconds

(Coz sometimes answers are not evenly spread and you may lose 2 answers if they are
told in quick succession)
3. Answers are much More straightforward compared to Reading section

So don't over think
4‬. Take care of the word limit

We may end up writing 2 words for a 1 word answer question or 3 words for a 2 word
answer question (this will deduct our marks)
5. Write only what is asked

Usually the questions are information based only
I.e. straightforward facts are to be written in the blanks

Where we may have to choose heading or select passage of given info or decide
author's agreement or disagreement to a particular line)
6. If you miss an answer, dust yourself instantly and start focussing on next blank
7. I am not sure but I didn't read the questions in advance (as that has a
probability of distracting you from current set of question)
8. Synonyms & antonyms are to be taken care of

Blank statements will have identical meaning but will not always have the exact
words as enunciated by the speaker
8. Jargons are usually absent especially in listening so you don't need any
specialized knowledge
9. Try to have a great sleep the previous night,

your mind should be shooting on all its cylinders

It is clear that the internet has provided students with access to more information
than ever before. Moreover, learners have the ability to research and learn about
any subject at the touch of a button. It is therefore agreed that technology is a
very worthwhile tool for education. Wikipedia is a prime example, where students
can simply type in any keyword and gain access to in-depth knowledge quickly and
easily.
However, many disagree and feel that technology deprives people of real human
interaction. Human interaction teaches people valuable skills such as discourse,
debate and empathy. Despite this, human interaction is still possible through the
internet and this essay disagrees technology should be dismissed for this reason.
For instance, Skype and Facebook make it possible for people to interact in ways
that were never before possible.
In conclusion, while the benefits of technology, particularly the internet, allow

� ABOUT EBOLA
A) The Ebola virus causes an acute, serious illness which is often fatal if
untreated. Ebola virus disease (EVD) first appeared in 1976 in 2 simultaneous
outbreaks, one in Nzara, Sudan, and the other in Yambuku, Democratic Republic of
Congo. The latter occurred in a village near the Ebola River, from which the
disease takes its name.
B) The current outbreak in west Africa, (first cases notified in March 2014‬), is
the largest and most complex Ebola outbreak since the Ebola virus was first
discovered in 1976. There have been more cases and deaths in this outbreak than all
others combined. It has also spread between countries starting in Guinea then
spreading across land borders to Sierra Leone and Liberia, by air (1 traveller
only) to Nigeria, and by land (1 traveller) to Senegal. The most severely affected
countries, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia have very weak health systems, lacking
human and infrastructural resources, having only recently emerged from long periods
of conflict and instability. On August 8, the WHO Director-General declared this
outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. Qs
C) It is thought that fruit bats of the Pteropodidae family are natural Ebola virus
hosts. Ebola is introduced into the human population through close contact with the
blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected animals such as
chimpanzees, gorillas, fruit bats, monkeys, forest antelope and porcupines found
ill or dead or in the rainforest. Ebola then spreads through human-to-human
transmission via direct contact (through broken skin or mucous membranes) with the
blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected people, and with
surfaces and materials (e.g. bedding, clothing) contaminated with these fluids.
Health-care workers have frequently been infected while treating patients with
suspected or confirmed EVD. This has occurred through close contact with patients
when infection control precautions are not strictly practiced.
D) Supportive care-rehydration with oral or intravenous fluids- and treatment of

specific symptoms, improves survival. There is as yet no proven treatment available
for EVD. However, a range of potential treatments including blood products, immune
therapies and drug therapies are currently being evaluated. No licensed vaccines
are available yet, but 2 potential vaccines are undergoing human safety testing. Qs
E) Health-care workers caring for patients with suspected or confirmed Ebola virus
should apply extra infection control measures to prevent contact with the patient’s
blood and body fluids and contaminated surfaces or materials such as clothing and
bedding. When in close contact (within 1 metre) of patients with EBV, health-care
workers should wear face protection (a face shield or a medical mask and goggles),
a clean, non-sterile long-sleeved gown, and gloves (sterile gloves for some
procedures).

� The IELTS Reading module has 4‬0 questions which you must answer in 60 minutes.
These questions come in a variety of formats including:
☑ identifying writer’s views (yes/no/not given questions)
☑ multiple choice
☑ sentence completion
☑ fill gaps in a passage of written text or in a table
☑ match headings to written text to diagrams or charts
☑ give short answers to open questions
As the reading section can include between 1500 to 2500 words, learning techniques
on how to answer each of these question types quickly will help ensure that you get
top marks in this module.
Today, we are going to look at the identifying the writer’s views format,
specifically the Yes/No/Not Given questions.
� Yes/No/Not Given Question Format
☑☑ How to Tackle
These types of questions can be really difficult to answer. First, you must find
the correlating information in the question statement to that of the words the
reading passage. Then you must decide if the reading passage text of the writer
agrees or disagrees with the question statement or if the information was not given
at all. Even I find these types of questions hard, and I’m a native English
speaker that used to score high marks on school exams! Hopefully by following
these tips you can learn to tackle these types of questions with ease:
Read the all of the question statements so that you know what information that you
will need to look for in the reading passage. Note mentally or on a scrap piece of
paper any proper nouns, nouns, or adjectives mentioned.
Skim and scan the reading passages to find the words that are or relate to the
proper nouns, nouns or adjectives in the question statements. Tackle the statement
questions that have proper nouns in the statements first, as this information is
easier to find through scanning.

Graphs!
✔ You need to write 3-4‬ paragraphs and 150 words. If you don’t, you will be
penalized.
✔In the initial paragraph, you need to paraphrase the question. Start the
paraphrase with one of the following prompts,
‘The table shows/illustrates the trends in .... between .......
The graph shows......
The chart shows how the ..... have changed ......
✔ Don’t include below in your paraphrase.
✔Write an overview as you second sentence of your introduction. Look at the

beginning and the end of the chart to help determine your overview.
✔Decide if the graph you are describing is a comparison, progression or both. You
will need to use the appropriate language for each type. For example, if it is
comparative , use ‘the same as’ or if it is progressive, use ‘ a slight increase’.
✔Change noun and adjectives phrases into verbs and adverbs to create a range of
expressions, for example ‘a slight increase’ to ‘increase slightly’. Also, try to
learn a few different ways to say the same thing so you don’t have to repeat
yourself (‘increase’, ‘go up’, ‘rise’). Remember you will be marked on your
language range and accuracy.
✔Describe the most general trends in second paragraph, including the most striking
characteristics.
✔You need to add linker to help your essay to help with its cohesion and
coherence; in other words, it’s flow. Here are some useful expressions: in
addition, furthermore, however, although.
✔In the 3rd paragraph you need to give a more detailed description. You still
need to focus on main trends, but focus more on elements within each part of the
graph (For 10 years, there was a gradual upward trend until it peaked at 250units
in 2002, followed by a dip.).
✔ Add data to support your information.

Don’t describe all small details as this creates lists which sound mechanical.
✔Instead of writing :It went up by 2% and then dropped up 5%, then rose again for
2 years, and again dropped by 2%.
Write: It fluctuated between 5% and 2% for the first quarter of the year.
✔You don’t have to write a conclusion, but it makes the writing seem more complete
if you do.
✔Don’t forget spelling and punctuation count towards accuracy.

You are good. You try to answer the questions and you don't do a lot of m m m ..
In order to secure your score, try to use better vocab if you can and just explain
a little bit more in your answer. For example, when you are explaining about job in
your area, name couple of jobs such as health professionals or civil engineer ..
just name specifically some example. Don't repeat the same words, try to paraphrase
them . Avoid using the simple words.

spent on space exploration is a complete waste. The money could be better spent on

While population is increasing at rapid rate, money plays very important for
maintaining balance in availability of resources and opportunities to people, so
its use at right place is very significant. So spending money on space exploration
is a matter to be deliberated.
We cannot deny space exploration involves splurging of money on research of high

level technology which is equipped in advanced rockets, spaceships and robots which
are sent to space. This money can be used for resolution or prevention of many
ongoing issues in the world. As we know that in world many people are still living
below poverty line and not able to make enough money for proper nutritional diet.
In addition to this, use of this money to make education less expensive and more
available to backward class people will provide them opportunity to have a good job
and earning to raise their lifestyle. In medical sector there is lot of
advancement happening and almost cure for every disease is available, but medicines
and medical treatment is still very expensive. In my country government hospitals
sanity and facilities are not good. So this money can be used to improve facilities
in government hospitals and to make avail other facilities like medical insurance
for poor people from the government. We can also use this money for preventive
measures for the natural calamities.
On the other hand, according to me, space exploration is not a complete wastage of
money because it has many advantages which are a need of today and future of
humans. It is only because of space exploration, GPS and whether forecasting could
be made possible. GPS, which is used for locating and tracking, are often used in
tracing criminals and in navigation application to reach unknown places. Weather
forecasting helps in predicting heavy rain, storms, typhoons, droughts and so on,
helps us to plan for preventive measures and solutions for these issues. Moreover,
as per increasing utilization of earth resources, it’s better to explore other
planet where existence of life can be possible. Subsequently, like every country
spending lot of money for defense and safety, so in same way space exploration is
also done for purpose to know and prepare for unknown threats outside the earth.
Furthermore, it also helps in study of changing earth’s environment. Ozone layer
depletion and green house affect analysis is one example of this.
To conclude, although these are many problems which needs money to address them,
but as space exploration has many advantages which cannot be ignored and worth to
spend money on these projects for future of human life, so we cannot trade off one
at cost of other.

12/8/17, 21:56 - +880 1776-053926: I had a very short time to prepare. True to say,
I could practise 7 days in October and 4‬ days in November before exam.
Full time job, overtime, sick parents, weekend courses- everything added an extra
burden and left no time for real preparation. But I followed some cheat codes I
felt important.
For writing, it is safe to write task 2 first. I had such a feeling from a few
examinee and followed the same. I had only 13 minutes to write task 1 which was a
table yet felt no problem in completing that within the stipulated time.
For speaking, I felt practising the introductory portion is important, such as what
type of house I expect to live in future, what type of fruit I love most etc along
with how I present myself. A silly mistake to understand the question can cost
marks.
For reading, concentration is the key. Do not overthink. Then you’re sure to find
the expected answer without much hiccup.
For listening, ieltsonlinetests.com is a very useful site. Practise the advanced

recordings, then your skill will develop faster.
Always keep an eye on singular and plural number in case of listening and reading.
I probably have lost marks for that purpose

4‬9. Students at schools and universities learn far more from lessons with teachers
than from other sources (such as the Internet and television). To what extent do
you agree or disagree?

It is irrefutable that students can learn a lot nowadays from Internet and
television and these have become an indispensable part of education, but I firmly
believe that teachers play a more significant role in the classroom. I believe that
no amount of technology can ever undermine the importance of the teacher. A number
of arguments surround my opinion.
To begin with, teachers can stimulate interest, and it is an undeniable fact that
interested stimulated people tend to learn more. They can keep students focused on
study. A student studying by himself through Internet and TV, may get bored and
stop studying. Secondly, teachers can provide a faster and simpler way to present
information to the students. They can come down to the level of a student and so
are definitely better than computers. In addition, teachers are role models for
students. They are scholars in action. They not only teach academic subjects, but
also many social skills.
Furthermore, there are many practical subjects, which students can learn best from
the teacher. For example, experiments of physics and chemistry, are best learnt by
the teacher guiding you at every step. What is more, teachers give assignments and
regularly check them. This helps the teachers to recognize the weak points of
students and guide them accordingly. All this cannot be done by the Internet and
TV.
On the other hand, it is also true that the Internet is an ocean of knowledge. You
can get information about any topic on Earth from the Internet. But there is no
authenticity of this information. What information to get and from where to get,
requires a lot of expertise. The television also has a lot of educative programmes
but students still need the guidance of the teachers at all stages of learning.
Teachers can make even the dull and boring subjects seem interesting. So definitely
students learn more from teachers.
To conclude, it can be said, that no doubt TV and the Internet are very educative
these days but students definitely learn more from the teacher.
