2. For a milling process you have several production lines within your plant. To keep a defect level
below 64 ppm (Cp=1.33), which of the following production lines is more suitable for the keyway
element (#5)?
a. Line 1: Standard deviation of 0.0125mm Cp=.3386
b. Line 2: Standard deviation of 0.0063mm Cp=.6719
c. Line 3: Standard deviation of 0.0031mm CP=1.3655
3. For the turning process, you have several machines within the plant. To keep a defect level
below 64ppm (Cp=1.33) which is the machine more suitable for the faces and diameter
characteristics (elements 1, 2, 3 and 4)?
a. Machine 1: Standard deviation of 0.0125mm
b. Machine 2: Standard deviation of 0.0063mm
c. Machine 3: Standard deviation of 0.0031mm

4. What can you say regarding the capability of your plant machines? What can you conclude?
What we conclude from the process capability is that we need to find the one that fulfill with that we
are looking for, the one that meets with the design specifications so that we can have a more efficient
process without spending more than we should and meet with the tolerance range
Considering the following Process Capability graphs, answer the following questions.
Process Capability (Cp>1.3)
Turning
Turning, because the tolerance is between the upper and lower limits, with the given dimension. On the
contrary grinding doesn't meet with those parameters, so the process is not capable for the tolerance
asked.
