 Teachers are influential on students and
kids 24/7 365. Anything they do can cause
a negative impact on a child.
 Students see teachers as role models. Any
negative behavior could lead to
mimicking.
 Teachers knew when they became
teachers that this was expected of them.

 Teachers should be allowed to post
whatever they want but they should
ensure that it is set to private.
 Teachers should be able to do what they
want when they are away from their
school and professional responsibilities.
 This is not expected of other positions or
professions. What is done on their own
time should be allowed as long as it is
legal and not bullying.

 Teachers can be influential but parents
should also monitor their kids to provide
reality of whether the behavior is
unbecoming.
 Other professions do not work specifically
with child development and as such
Teachers should use caution.
 Teachers should have privacy but should
not post anything that could be perceived
as unprofessional or negative for kids to
see.

 The 1st Amendment guarantees teachers
the right to freedom of speech. They
should not have to modify their behavior
outside of the professional 8 hours a day.
 Anything that happens outside the
confines of a professional agree day is the
teacher’s time and they should not be
punished for anything shared during this
time.
 Teachers have a right to privacy in their
own personal lives and should not be
infringed upon by cultural “expectations.”
