or to give help to those who struggled with the instructions.

Teacher then allocates students into groups of three.

(Teacher has already organised these groups, to ensure that
the students who regularly misbehave are not with their
friends).

Once students know who their partners are, students are

asked to sit on the mat and listen to teacher instructions.
Teacher explains to students that they will each get a “skit”
to perform and film on their iPads. (Students will either get a
skit on sun safety or a skit on bicycle safety). Teacher has
already created skits on sun safety and bicycle safety for
students to act out. (Examples of these skits are attached).

Teacher explains that two students will act out the skit, and
one person will film. However, all three students need to
contribute to how the skit will be acted out.

Students are allocated 15 minutes to prepare and act out

their skits on iMovie.

Teacher walks around the courtyard (which is the boundary

for students to film) to ensure all students are on task, and
to assist those who need help.

Conclusion:
Once the 15 minutes is up, teacher calls students back into
the classroom. Teacher asks students to save their iMovie’s
to the iPad’s before plugging them in to be charged. Teacher
makes a note of which group had which iPad (iPads are
numbered).

Teacher asks students how their filming went. After hearing

what students have to say, teacher dismisses students to go
to their lunch break.

smart?
 Include the skit you were given
 Insert your iMovie
 Write a conclusion
- Why is it important to wear a helmet/sunscreen
despite what your friends think?
- What did you learn from this activity?

Teacher walks around the classroom to ensure all students

are on task in creating their books. Teacher is able to help
those students who are struggling with the app or need
help.

After students have had thirty minutes to finish their

projects, teacher asks students to airdrop them onto the
teachers iPad. (Students have previously learned about
airdrop and how to use it).

Conclusion:
Teacher asks students to come and sit on the mat. Teacher
explains to students that they will be watching everyone’s
books in the next lesson. This will be followed by a whole-
class discussion on what it means to be bicycle safe and sun
safe. Students will also do an evaluation for the teacher,
which will be assessed for their understanding on the topic.
