AUXILIO DE ZAMBOWOOD ALLIANCE FAMILY

CONSTITUTION AND BY LAWS

PREAMBLE
We, the working and self-employed Filipino People, have this day voluntarily associated
ourselves the purpose of forming a Rural Workers Association under the laws of the Philippines
more particularly Presidential Decree Number 137.

ARTICLE I – NAME, DOMICILE, AREA OF OPERATION


SECTION 1. The Association shall be known as the AUXILIO DE ZAMBOWOOD ALLIANCE
FAMILY herein referred to as the Association.

SECTION 2. The principal address of the Association shall be at Zambowood Zamboanga City
which permanent address shall be immediately reported.

SECTION 3. The area of operation of the Association shall be at Zamboanga City, Philippines.

ARTICLE II – OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION

The Association has the following objectives:

1. To uplift the living condition and welfare of the members accordance with the definition
of the National Development Plan;
2. To enhance and defend the interest of its members for their mutual aid and protection;
3. To acquire and dispose property, real or personal for the use and benefit of the entire
membership and the Association;
4. To design and undertake all activities for the benefit and welfare of its members and the
Association including housing, building especially mortuary assistance and other
projects not contrary to law; and
5. To coordinate and collaborate with proper government agencies and other non-
government Associations for certain lawful undertakings.

ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP

SECTION 1. QUALIFICATION OF MEMBERS – Membership shall be exclusive to active


Zambowood Alliance Evangelical Church (ZAEC) Family Members, who are:
i. Residents of the barangay for at least six months
ii. Non-residents of the barangay but are active family members of ZAEC;
Filipino citizens, who are engaged in farming, fishing, baking and home craft. He may
become a member of the association by filing an application for membership.

DEFINITION OF TERMS
i. Zambowood Alliance Evangelical Church (ZAEC) Member – Active ZAEC Church
members who are family heads which are either of the following:
a. Couple - Husband and Wife
b. Mother
c. Father
d. Child earning for the family
ii. Dependent – either of the following category:
i. child/ren of the member who are still single
ii. parents living under the custody of the ZAEC Family member and without
own income
SECTION 2. APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP. The willing applicant must make his application for
membership in writing on form provided by the Association for the purpose. It shall be duty and
responsibility of the Board of Director to approve or disapprove the application. The applicated
must be assisted in filling up the application is he/she is illiterate.

SECTION 3. RESIGNATION. A member of the Association may resign by tendering a letter of


resignation 10 days before the actual date of his resignation so that the Board of Director will
have enough time to assess the accountabilities of said member is he has any. His resignation
may not be accepted if he has an important obligation to finish or if he has not yet settled his
accountabilities.

SECTION 4. EXPULSION. Any member who fails to pay his monthly dues, fees or contributions
for three (3) consecutive times or violates major policy of the association and membership
agreement may after thorough investigation and after hearing before the board of directors, be
fine, suspended or terminated from membership in the association. His rights and equity if any
shall be upon the discretion of the board.

SECTION 5. DEATH. The death of a member shall automatically terminate his membership in the
association. The legitimate heirs of the deceased shall have the same rights of the equities of
the deceased and shall have the preference in admission to the association upon complying
with the provision herein provided.

ARTICLE VIII – ASSOCIATION FEES, DUES AND OTHERS

SECTION 1. MEMBERSHIP FEE. Every member of the association must pay a membership fee of
Php100.00 upon his admission to the association.

SECTION 2. MONTHLY DUES. A monthly due of Php20.00 is required for every member to be
paid every last day of the month or a discounted rate of Php200.00 for one whole year to be
paid upon admission to the association.

SECTION 3. MORTUARY CONTRIBUTION. To be called as AUXILIO CONTRIBUTION/ FUND, a


contribution of Php500.00 upon admission and for every death of a member. For every death of
a member’s dependent, a contribution of Php250.00 shall be collected. 90% from the total
collection shall be given to the bereaved family.

SECTION 4. GRACE PERIOD. A grace period of 30 calendar days from the date of death of
member or dependent shall be given for late payment of the Auxilio Fund and 15 calendar days
for the monthly dues.

SECTION 5. OPERATIONAL FUND. 10% from the total Auxilio Fund shall be retained as
operational fund of the association. Out of the monthly dues and operational fund, 10% shall be
given to Zambowood Alliance Evangelical Church as tithe.

SECTION 6. CONTRIBUTION. The association may raise funds for its activities through
contributions or donations from its members or non-members either in cash or labor or in kind
and through benefit programs considered appropriate and legal; or other programs and
projects in coordination with DOLE Region 9.
