1.0 General
This work shall consist of construction in Random Rubble (RR) Masonry, of walls, drains
and other structures and the plastering works therein.

3.1 Material
1. 6x9 RR masonry would be neatly packed and bonded by using 1:5 cement mortar and all
cavities would be filled by smaller sizes. Horizontal and Vertical alignment would be
properly maintained using a plumb bob/plumb rule.
2. Cement mortar would be prepared by manual mixing taking its constituents according to
the specified proportion. Sufficient water would be added gradually after few seconds
from the mixing of cement and sand. The mortar mixture would not be allowed to be dry
and the required moisture would be controlled by adding water.

4. 12mm thick Regiform sheet would be inserted vertically in each 5m intervals for the
purpose of Expansion joints (length of the interval can be changed due to the length of
the Structure)
6. Inlet of the weep hole would be enclosed by a suitable geotextile and stone packing
would be made around the geotextile.
7. The plastering works of the structures shall be carried out to specified thickness and
surfaces in construction drawings using 1:3 cement mortar.
5.0 Supervision
Position Responsibilities
Site Engineer Perform the Masonry works/Plastering on the basis of
method statement, specifications and drawings.
Technical Officer All setting out works in accordance with Method Statement
and drawings
Supervisor Assist to Site Engineer/ Technical officer
6.0 Inspection
Site Engineer shall implement the Request for Inspection (RFI) and shall be kept
at site for the Engineer’s consent.
