Role &Responsibilities of Mr. D.

SUBRAHMANYAM, Engineer, MPP

- To prepare the Turbine &its auxiliaries for safe start-up.

- Monitor control room operations of Turbine and it’s auxiliary equipment and taking
contingency operations as required.
- To carrying out various tests such as Turbine Protection tests, partial and full load
operations, handling black-outs and safe shut-down.
- To monitor plant equipment from control room as well as from field. To ensure safe
isolation of the equipment during maintenance periods.
- To operate the unit at optimum level.
- To evaluate and improving the process with key focus on the safety, efficiency
improvement, optimal utilization of resources etc.
- Efficiencies & Performance monitoring of each equipment and advice for improvement.
- Day to day coordination with Maintenance sections for equipment outage plan and
execution.
- To design the standard and safe operating procedures and practices to be observed in
operations.
- To analyze trip outs / faults / outages & skill to handle emergencies of a Power Plant
equipment.
