On 03/14/18, on or about 3:21 PM, our department investigated a car/ pedestrian accident on
Washington St. near Barben Ave. in the City. A 17 year old female and a 16 year old female
were walking in the crosswalk on Washington St. when 58 year Raymond G. Ashland of
LaFargeville, New York, operating a 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck, turned onto Washington St.
from Barben. Avenue. Mr. Ashland failed to see the females in the crosswalk. The 17 year old
was struck and fell to the ground. The 16 year old fell to the ground while trying to help the
other female.

Both females were treated at the scene and transported by Guilfoyle Ambulance to Samaritan
Medical Center where they were treated for their injuries. Mr. Ashland was cited for failing to
yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
