Why Must Jesus Christ Be the

Creator of the Universe?

The New Testament is the only

religious work to describe:
l a God who is transcendent to both
time (2 Timothy 1:9, Titus 1:2, Jude
1:25) and space (John 18:36)
l the creation of the universe from extra
dimensions (Hebrews 11:3)

Not only is Jesus the only one who could have fulfilled the Messianic
prophecies of the Old Testament, He is the only one who is described as having
the attributes necessary to qualify as Creator of the Universe. The New
Testament (which describes the fulfillment of the Messianic prophecies by
Jesus of Nazareth) describes Jesus as Creator,1 and describes Him as
transcendent to both time2 and space,3 characteristics that a Creator God must
have in order to have created our universe. In addition, the New Testament
describes His creation of the universe from invisible extra dimensions.4 For
more information, see The Extradimensional Nature of God.

1. Through him [Jesus] all things were made; without him nothing was
made that has been made. (John 1:3)
For by him [Jesus] all things were created: things in heaven and on
earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or
authorities; all things were created by him and for him. (Colossians
but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he
appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
(Hebrews 1:2)

2. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time
(2 Timothy 1:9)
The hope of eternal life, which God... promised before the beginning
of time (Titus 1:2)
To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory,
majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever.
Amen. (Jude 1:25)

3. Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants

would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is
from another place." (John 18:36)
4. The universe was formed at God's command, so that what was seen
was not made out of what was visible. (Hebrews 11:3)
