Package Checklist Wiring Requirements

The Moxa PowerTrans switch is shipped with the following items. If any
WARNING
of these items are missing or damaged, please contact your customer
service representative for assistance. Safety First!
Be sure to disconnect the power cord before installing
y 1 Moxa PowerTrans Switch and/or wiring your Moxa PowerTrans Switch.
y Hardware Installation Guide Calculate the maximum possible current in each power
wire and common wire. Observe all electrical codes
y CD-ROM with User’s Manual and SNMP MIB file dictating the maximum current allowable for each wire
y Moxa Product Warranty Statement size.
y RJ45 to DB9 console port cable If the current goes above the maximum ratings, the wiring
could overheat, causing serious damage to your equipment.
y Protective caps for unused ports
y 2 rack-mount ears
Grounding the Moxa PowerTrans Switch
Grounding and wire routing help limit the effects of noise due to
Panel Layouts electromagnetic interference (EMI). Run the ground connection from the
6 7 5 10 ground screw to the grounding surface prior to connecting devices.
