Overall aim and context of the lesson

For clarification, the lesson plan was the supportive approach for me in achieving my learning
outcomes in this lesson by allow the students to:

- Recognize new vocabulary words.

- Spell the words in correct way.

SWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)

Select (S):
Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing:
I taught students a story which named as (Mohammad’s Garden), in this lesson my aim was to allow
students to recognize the vocabulary in the story and spell every vocab or word in correct way. In this
lesson I gave students an opportunity to participate in differentiated activities which was prepared based
on their understanding levels, for instance, match the plant needs picture with their names, copy and
draw a plant picture, color the tree picture.

Describe (D):
Who is the lesson for? Where did the lesson take place?
This lesson was created for KG2 students who are from 4 to 5 years old, it was given to students in the
classroom by allowing them to sit in the circle area then I separated them into the three groups to have
the independent experience activities and when they finished the activities I asked them to come in
the circle area to conclude the lesson with an exciting activity.

What were you trying to achieve in your lesson? What did the students do?
This lesson was an opportunity to me to let students strengthen their reading and listening skills through
telling them the story and let them say the materials names, also by providing them an enthusiastic and
challenging activities, they will develop their knowledge in several aspects, so from that students will
evolve and improve their skills and abilities, they will think above and be more focused on the activities.

4
According to students response, they were involved very well in the lesson and the activities because in
the closing activity when they were doing the plant activity, they were holding the materials and say
their names (this is cottons, this is lentils, I will pour the water now), thus from this response and
excitement I can say that students understood the concept of the lesson very well.

Analyze (A):
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did? How well did your teaching relate to
the students’ prior understanding? How well did you engage the students?
As we see, how students get motivated and give their attention to the lesson when I told them the story
with showing them the materials of it and give them several of activities, and especially in the closing
activity because they were almost achieving the lesson goals because they were saying to me (ms look
we did a plant and we will put it outside and give them a water to become big).

I did an activity that was related to students prior understanding in the conclusion by placing in front of
students a plastic cup, lentils, cottons and water, then, they will put the cottons inside the cup, on top
of the cotton they will put the lentils and at the end they will pour the water inside the cup.

As a result, this activity gave students an opportunity to learn more by doing and let them to be more
focused on what they are doing, what is the benefit of it.

Appraise (A):
Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective.
I noticed that, this lesson was very effective and students enjoyed the activities because all the students
were active, participating and excited to inform me of how they use the materials to plant a plant.

Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?

In the point of interest, this lesson was effective, at the end I succeed my learning outcomes with the
students because they did the activities in a correct way and when I asked them questions they
were participating with me and give the right answer with examples.

Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
In the future, I might change the way of explaining the activities to the students to attract their attention
and listen to me.

What are the implications for your professional practice?

5
As I noticed that, during this lesson I had an opportunity to develop my strategies in managing student’s
behavior by using with them a reward system technique.
