LEARNING OUTCOME
COMPARISON OF HUMAN HAIR TO/AND ANIMAL HAIR

I’ve learned from this activity that the human hair is very different from animal hair.
Human hair the basics both human and animal hair is composed of the 3 basic elements of hair
Medulla, Cortex, and Cuticle. Length Differences Animal hair is synchronized and tends to stop
growing at a certain length. It will sometimes fall out and be replaced by another hair Cuticle
Scaling Relative Size Even though all hair contains the same basic elements, the size of each
varies Pigmentation Human hair tends to be a consistent color from root to tip, whereas animal
hair can do something know as DNA With today's DNA testing, scientists can identify DNA from
a human or an animal. If is from an animal, they can determine the species as well. If the
scientists have other DNA. Hair is a unique character of mammals and has several functions,
from protection of the skin to sexual and social communication. In literature, there are various
studies about hair that take into consideration different aspects within many fields of science,
including biology, dermatology, cosmetics, forensic sciences, and medicine.

LEARNING OUTCOME
HUMAN HAIR

I’ve learned from this activity is that every human hair has a differences.
Hair in each part of the body has a definite period of growth, after which it is shed. In the adult
human there is a constantgradual loss and replacement of hair. Hair of the eyebrowslasts only 3
to 5 months; that of the scalp 2 to 5 years.Baldness or alopecia results when replacement fails t
o keep upwith hair loss. It may be hereditary or due to pathologicconditions such as infections o
r irradiation injury. Cytotoxicagents used in cancer chemotherapy may cause temporary loss of
hair. Hair is simple in structure, but has important functions in social functioning. Hair is made
of a tough protein called keratin. A hair follicle anchors each hair into the skin. The hair bulb
forms the base of the hair follicle. In the hair bulb, living cells divide and grow to build
the hair shaft.
