Job title Business Development Director

Reports to Chief Financial Officer

Office Hours Monday – Friday; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Location Corporate Office – 12023 – Beckley, WV

Job purpose

The Business Development Director assists with all marketing efforts as outlined in the
corporate mission, marketing plan, and activities set forth by the company. The position
will include direct to consumer and direct to business marketing efforts, social media
development, client retention efforts, community events, and management of business
development representatives and marketing staff.

Duties and responsibilities

 Responsible for the overall management of all strategic and operational marketing
and customer relationship activities
 Provide market feedback to the management team regarding competitive offerings
and prospect needs
 Take ownership of the management of sales and marketing functions of the
business
 Drive increased revenue and profit to achieve the company’s ambitious growth
 Working with the management team, set monthly sales goals for staff and self
 Create a content calendar for social media and publish to social media
applications
 Design, create, and schedule marketing email communications
 Generate appointments and quotes by means of proactive outbound prospecting
and lead activity management in an effort to market our business solutions to
potential customers
 Works directly with the Business Development Director to discover opportunities
from leads, and set appointments from those leads
 Use of strong selling and influencing skills to setup qualified appointments
 Consistent use of sales approach and techniques
 Log, track, and maintains customer contact and contact records
 Attending meetings and conference calls as necessary
 Provide courteous and efficient customer service
 Adherence to corporate policies and procedures
 Adherence to the corporate mission
 Assisting the Management team with issues as required
 Perform any other duties as assigned

 Flexibility regarding hours/days of work


 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills pertaining to both coworkers
and clients
 Strong organization, oral and written skills
 Demonstrated ability to remain calm and present a professional attitude during
high volume periods
 Prior sales and/or customer service experience preferred
 Preference will be given to those with prior tax marketing experience
 Computer literacy and proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office suite
 Ability to type 50 wpm
 Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
 Preferred Education: BS Business Administration, Marketing
