SYNOPSIS

TITLE OF THE PROJECT : CLINIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

TEAM MEMBERS:
 Manali S. Chavan (A007)
 Shreya K. Sojitra(A044)

OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT:

The Clinic Management System has been developed to override the problems prevailing in
the practicing manual system. This software is developed to eliminate and in some cases
reduce the hardships faced by the existing system. Moreover, this system is designed for the
particular need of the company to carry out operations in a smooth and effective manner.
The software would be operated by two users the doctor and receptionist.Receptionist
would be responsible for assigning token numbers to the patient visiting the clinic and save it
in the database along with their details. These token numbers along with respective patient
details are sent to doctor. The doctor can thus view patient details and after checking up the
patient, the recommended medicines for the particular patient are fed into the database by the
doctor .The doctor can then generate bill and feed into the database.

STATEMENT ABOUT THE PROBLEM :

If the old system continuous to remain in place , we will have very retrogressive progress in
making management process of the clinic streamline and also in moving technology to a
higher level. So with my clinic management system I will solve the problem of managing
patient records, managing reports. The system is geared towards providing a high tech
solution for managing a clinic.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT :

The main objective of the project is to build an application program to reduce the manual
work and to manage the details of clinic, patient, appointment details and effective
communication between doctor and receptionist. To make easier retrieval of patient
information, schedule appointments of patients, generate bill, generate balance sheet of clinic.
Functionalities provided by clinic management system are as follows :

 Clinic management system increases the efficiency in retrieving the patient

information,appointment details whenever required.
 Auto generates token number for patients.
 Registers patients details and manage the information in database.
 Editing, adding, deleting records.
 Notification facilities to customer.
 It deals with monitoring the information and transactions of appointment.
 You can easily export PDF for balancesheet of clinic.
 Application also generates bill for patients.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT :

 The system can be implemented in private dental clinic
 The aim of this system is to manage the patient’s information, appointments and
payment.
 The chances of loosing data can be minimized using standalone application.
 It even generates an instant bill thus eliminates the need of maintaining paper records
for patient payment receipt.

METHODOLOGY :

In this section will discuss about the methodology that will be using in the development of
Dental Clinic Management System. The fundamental for this project is to develop a
management system that can be implemented and integrated in dental clinics. This project will
be conducted based on Agile methodology.Agile is a process by which a team can manage a
project by breaking it up into several stages and involving constant collaboration with
stakeholders and continuous improvement and iteration at every stage.

The Agile methodology begins with clients describing how the end product will be used and
what problem it will solve. This clarifies the customer’s expectations to the project team.
Once the work begins, teams cycle through a process of planning, executing, and evaluating -
-- which might just change the final deliverable to fit the customer’s needs better.
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE TO BE USED :
Software:

Name of the component Specification

Operating System Windows 7 , or later
Front End C#
Database SQL Server 2012

Hardware:

Name of the component Specification

Processor Intel core i3
RAM 1GB
Monitor VGA/SVGA

TESTING TECHNOLOGIES USED :

White box testing

In this technique, the close examination of the logical parts through the software are tested by
cases that exercise species sets of condition or loops. All logical parts of the software are
checked once. When the box testing test all the independent part within a module a logical
decision on their true and the false are exercised, all loops and bounds within their operational
bounds are exercised and internal data structure to ensure their validity were exercised once.
Black box testing

Black box tests the input, the output and the external data.It checks whether the input data is
correct and whether we are getting the desired output.

Levels

Unit testing

Each module is considered independently. It focuses on each unit of software as implemented

in the source code .It is white box testing .

Integration testing

Integration testing aims at constructing the program structure while at the same constructing
test to uncover errors associated with interfacing the modules .Modules are integrated by
using the top down approach .

System testing

It is executing programs to check logical changes made in it with intention of finding

errorssystem testing is done to ensure that the system satisfies all the user requirements.

Acceptance testing

A final procedural review to demonstrate a system and secure user approval before a system
becomes operational.

CONCLUSION :
Dental Management System is a system which is a first step to change themedical industry
methodology of keeping the data of patients as well as theother important information. This
system will help the users to manage thedental information and make sure that all
the important data are able to be usein the future time. This includes information for the future
treatment, as well as to doresearch from the data that had been captured. As this system will
be used for the dental management, the dental industrywill soon be a high standard industry,
which all the process will be donethrough the computer and specified system.

LIMITATION :
 The system will not be able to process electronic payment(e.g.MPesa,Visa payments)
 It requires Computer literate people to operate.
