MINUTES AND NOTE OF RULING

Deputy County Attorney Jennifer Clark and the Youth with his
counsel, Public Defender Jeff Wilson, came into court. Also present in the
courtroom was Juvenile Probation Officer Steve Everett and the Youth’s
mother, .
Thereupon, the matter of the Youth’s detention came on for
hearing. Upon inquiry by the Court, the Youth requested the services of
the public defender’s office and the Court appointed the State Public
Defender’s office to represent him. The State then advised of the reason
for the Youth’s detention; that he is being held on a probation violation and
will be charged with criminal endangerment, fleeing and tampering. The
State requested bond set in the sum of $20,000.00 and if bond is posted

that the standard conditions of release, including no weapons, no drugs, no
contact with any witnesses and that he remain in Missoula be imposed.
Youth’s motion for release to the Home Arrest Program was heard, or in
the alternative, that bond be set in the sum of $5000.00. Upon inquiry by
the Court, the Youth’s mother stated she has no concerns regarding the
Youth returning to her home. The State advised there is concern regarding
releasing the Youth to his mother as a search was done of the home and
there may have been items removed and the incident occurred while the
Youth was in his mother’s care. Thereafter, the Court set bond in the sum
of $20,000.00 and requested the Youth be screened for the Home Arrest
program. The Court also set further appearance before the Honorable
Karen S. Townsend on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. If bond is
posted, the Youth is to be under Home Arrest pending that appearance.
The Youth was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff pending the posting
of bond in the sum of $20,000.00.
