Interim Lower School Art Teacher: Fallowing a brief outline that was provided for grades K-4th that
incorporated clay, textile art, drawing painting and mixed media. While fallowing the outlines for each
grade I have created extension projects and added curriculum when needed. Setting up displays in the
hallway and set and prop design for school plays. Grading and report card comment writing and any
email or conversations needed between lead teachers to help support students. I also created an
afterschool multicultural art class for elementary students.

09/2016-06/2017 San Jose Middle School, Novato, CA

Student Teaching: Plan curriculum on a weekly/daily basis for 6th graders that explores
interdisciplinary collaboration within the classroom and other content areas. Students learn how
to use critical thinking in-group discussions and focus on how to cultivate creativity through art.
Each lesson focuses on how to reflect, talk about art and observe art from the perspective of an
artist. Students are taught skills that are useful in guiding proper research on projects. Applying
assessments to differentiate instruction to make teaching accessible for all types of learners.
Outside of the visual art class I have created a Mural club. Students created a large wall mural
from planning to the end product. I also have worked with students in yearbook.
06/2016 – 07/2017 Studio One, Oakland, CA
Specialist II: Teaching art to a diverse population with a variety of age groups from ages 5-13 during
summer camps and in an after school art program. While teaching painting and drawing students
explore different themes of art such as Color Theory, Op Art, Surrealism, Pop Art, Multicultural Folk
Art and much more. Students learn about different artists and different techniques that help them
express ideas in their art. Each art program ends with an art show showcasing each student’s work.
08/2011 – 08/2015 San Domenico, San Anselmo, CA
Kindergarten Art Teacher: Teaching different mediums of art to Kindergarten age level students.
The curriculum is based on a Monart style of teaching. Each child is guided through an art lesson using
lines and shape. During the year students are introduced to color mixing, watercolors and various types
of painting, collage, printmaking and clay. Also students are introduced to artists such a Mondrian,
Monet, Vincent Van Gough, Paul Klee and are then taught techniques so they can create their own art
in the artists style.

08/2012-08/2015 Social Studies/ Cultural Art Teacher: I have created a curriculum that combines the basic concepts
of social studies for Kindergarten with cultural art around the world. We learn about different holidays
and then visit that country with our passport book. While learning about each place we have learned
how to say hello in that language, where it is on the map and an art style that is unique to the country;
drawing an animal that lives there. The students have also spent some time on the idea of family at
home and at school, team work, community, our state, what workers work in our state, and U.S.
commemorative holidays.

08/2010 - 08/2011 Montessori de Terra Linda, San Rafael, CA

After School Art Teacher: Initiated and created class curriculum in drawing, painting, collage, and
printmaking depending on what type of art class is being offered. Guides children step by step through
the art lesson starting with drawing and then on to other types of mediums. Reinforcing and broadening
the students experience in new media and different artists from folk art to more classic art styles.
08/2008 - 08/2011 Teaching Assistant: Observes and helps with classroom activities, general upkeep of classroom and
materials. Integrate art projects into the program by collaborating with head teacher.
