A well-known name in the Tourism & Hospitality sector, the Earl’s Court Group provides
authentic cultural adventures in key parts of the island from our strategically placed
hotels. Earl’s Regent is one of the hotels of Earl’s Group. The hotel has a large number
of employees. Aims of the project is to figure how Earl’s Regent adopt emerging
technology to succeed and to get the competitive advantage in Kandy region. This
research enforces that emerging technology is a crucial fact to exist in the hotel
industry. Moreover I will discuss what the challenges face by them are when they carry
out it at their departments such as operation, Human resource, etc.

To assess the effectiveness of the overall performance of employees at Earl’s Regent

though emerging technology. What are the shortcoming and misconduct done by
people while implementing. This investigation is going to be done by the topic of ‘The
Challenges of integration emerging technologies within organization’.

Aim
The aim of this research is to investigate the Problems faced by Earl’s Regent Hotel,
Kandy when they adopt emerging technology to each departments, moreover what are
the challenges overcome as a department.

Objectives
 Explore the emerging technologies in chosen organization.
 The impact of emerging technologies.
 Discuss the challenges they encountered in adapting technologies.
 Provide recommendations to mitigate or overcome from the challenges

Reasons for choosing this project.

We are living in a world where most of things done though emerging technology. The
development of digital technology and the use of the newly equipped technology has
now become part of our life in every aspect of it, from almost all active ages. This is a
revolutionized century. Though these technology businesses face plenty of issues in
terms of day to day operation. As we are student it’s crucial for us to investigate in detail
and to come up with a solution on our own. Which will guide us to be an investigator in
the industry. We had a steady start in previous semester under the subject of ‘MSBP’
we got to know the basic platform how to investigate a research project in an ordinary
level, apart from this other subject too associated me to approach to this research
project in extraordinary level. Such BE, MBAAR, OB, especially HRM.I am thankful to all
of my lectures who guided me though. We meet plenty of challenge in the industry and
all of them depend on researches, for instants Sales report. Unless we put our self in
depth in hard to compete with others. So it’s important to each and every one to get the
potential use though this subject.

1. Methodology
5.1 Population

The population of this research is the employees who are working in Earl’s Regent
Hotel, Kandy. The population will be around 40. The research will be conducted in order
to find The Challenges of integration emerging technologies within organization’in
Earl’s Regent Hotel, Kandy.

5.2 Sampling Method

The sampling method which will be used for this research will be,

 Judgmental Sampling
 Simple Random Sampling

In Earl’s regent there will be around 10 employees working in the managerial level for
the employees who are working in the managerial level Judgmental Sampling will be
used. For other employees Simple Random Sampling will be used to collect the
information.

5.3 Data Collection

Primary data collection

Primary data collection is an important element in this research. Primary data will be the
valuable and the appropriate data collection in order to conduct the research in a proper
manner. Following points palnning to collect though questionnaires and interviews.
  Existing emerging technology used by Earl’s Regent Hotel, Kandy.
 Performance improvements of employees though emerging technology.
 Advantages and disadvantages of having the emerging technology in every
department.
 Employees’ opinions on the existing technology.

An appropriate questionnaire will be designed including the important information to be

asks. And also face to face interview will be conducted in order to get more information
about the performance appraisal methods used by Earl’s Regent Hotel, Kandy.

Secondary data collection

The secondary data will be collected for the research though some existing research
project in hotel industry by fellow students in other region.

Limitations and difficulties

 The improper maintenance of office documents can cause problems in the

research.
 The research should be conducted during the given time. (Time Limitation)
 The sample size is 40, but there are around 70 employees are working in Earl’s
Regent Hotel, Kandy. So the collected information collected from the samples will
be limited to derive valid conclusions.
