SCAFCO
GRAIN BIN
48’ (14.63 m) DIAMETER
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION
Galvanized materials are subject to unsightly “white rust” if moisture penetrates the wall
sheet bundle. To avoid this condition, separate wall sheets so that air can dry wall sheets.
Turning the wall sheet bundles over to a convex position is another way to prevent moisture
collecting between sheets.
If white rust does occur, remove using Oakite solution (or vinegar solution). Clean and
dry surface and apply zinc-rich paint.
SCAFCO WARRANTY
The manufacturer warrants each new SCAFCO Grain Bin/Silo manufactured by it to be free from defects in material or workmanship FOR FIVE (5)
YEARS from the date of invoice to the original purchaser, unless otherwise specifically provided in writing at the time of order. If such a defect is
found by the manufacturer to exist within the five year period, the manufacturer will, at its option, (a) repair or replace such product free of charge,
F.O.B. the factory of manufacture, or (b) refund to the original purchaser the original purchase price, in lieu of such repair or replacement. This
Warranty includes SCAFCO manufactured Grain Bins/Silos only and does not extend to other suppliers' equipment.
The manufacturer warrants all new SCAFCO Grain Bin/Silo accessories, including Axial and Centrifugal Fans, manufactured by it to be free from
defects in material or workmanship FOR ONE (1) YEAR from the date of invoice to the original purchaser. If such a defect is found by the
manufacturer to exist within the one year period, the manufacturer will, at its option, (a) repair or replace such product free of charge, F.O.B. the
factory of manufacture, or (b) refund to the original purchaser the original purchase price, in lieu of such repair or replacement. This Warranty
includes SCAFCO manufactured fans and accessories only and does not extend to other suppliers' equipment.
1. The product must be installed and operated in accordance with instructions published by the manufacturer or warranty will be void.
2. Warranty is void if all structural components of the system are not original equipment supplied by the manufacturer.
3. Grain bins/silos and augers are designed for grains and/or free flowing materials and are not warranted for other distribution or substances.
Other use will void warranty.
4. BIN LOADING/UNLOADING WARNING: All grain bins, bulk feed tanks and hopper bottom tanks are designed to be filled and unloaded
from the center of the bin or tank. Any other method of filling or unloading can result in structural damage to the bin. Any off-center discharge
openings should be used for the sole purpose of bin clean-out after the center discharge has emptied the tank to the grains' natural angle of
repose. Failure to limit the usage of any off-center discharge opening could result in non-warranted structural damage to the bin.
5. ROOF DAMAGE WARNING: All grain bins have been designed to be filled to within 1" (25 mm) of the top of the top ring at the grains'
natural angle of repose. Filling beyond the top ring, so as to apply grain pressure to the underside of the roof or blockage of roof vents, may
result in non-warranted structural damage to the roof. Roof damages due to excessive vacuum or internal pressure, caused by fans or other
air moving systems, are not warranted. Adequate roof vents must be provided for all air handling and aeration systems. Roof vents must not
be blocked by grain or freezing over due to operation during humid/cold weather conditions.
6. This product must be purchased from and installed by an authorized dealer or Certified Representative thereof or the warranty will be void.
7. Malfunctions, damage or failure resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence, alteration, accident, misapplication of specifications or lack of
proper maintenance shall not be considered defects under this warranty.
8. Standard grain bin/silo design is for seismic zone 2B conditions, 90 MPH wind speed and 25 PSF roof live load. Any other loading condition
must be requested (at extra cost) prior to order.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for any consequential or special damage, which any purchaser may suffer, or claim to suffer as a result of any
defect in the product. "Consequential" or "Special Damages" as used herein include but are not limited to lost or damaged products or goods, costs
of transportation, lost sales, lost orders, lost income, increased overhead, labor, and incidental costs and operational inefficiencies.
THIS WARRANTY CONSTITUTES THE MANUFACTURER'S ENTIRE AND SOLE WARRANTY AND THE MANUFACTURER EXPRESSLY
DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES AS TO
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSES SOLD, AND DESCRIPTION OR QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT FURNISHED
HEREUNDER.
An officer of the manufacturing company must authorize any exceptions to this warranty in writing. The manufacturer reserves the right to change
models and specifications at any time without notice or obligation to improve previous models.
WARNING: Galvanized materials are subject to unsightly "white rust" if moisture penetrates the wall sheet bundle. To avoid this condition, separate
wall sheets so that air can dry the sheets.
