To whom it may concern,

I am eagerly and confidently writing a letter of recommendation for Hannah Stern. Miss Stern has been
a part of my first grade class for a significant amount of our school year. She completed her Professional
Semester for Kutztown University in the fall of 2017, and will commence her first placement of student
teaching shortly. She possesses qualities of an outstanding educator already, and still has her second
student teacher placement to gain even more experience. She is an excellent lesson planner, has strong
classroom management skills, and is a loving, kind, and hard working woman.

Miss Stern’s lesson plans are thorough, engaging, and well thought out. She uses a multitude of
modalities to make sure all students can be successful with their learning. She has a knack for knowing
the best ways to differentiate learning for each student, both for enrichment and extra support
circumstances. Her lessons are strong, and her pacing and planning are that of a seasoned teacher. She
utilizes technology daily and has a depth of knowledge of resources available for her students.

Miss Stern has solid classroom management, and her students benefitted from her high expectations
and follow through with holding students accountable. She is proactive when giving directions prior to
activities. Her approach is consistent and positive. During her student teaching semester, she used tally
marks for positive reinforcement of desired behaviors, and the students loved earning them. She used
proximity, as well as verbal and non-verbal communication to support her student’s behavior and
learning.

The students were very excited to have Miss Stern return to our classroom. She is well-loved by the
students and she shows her care and concern for them. She greets each student every morning
individually as they enter to room. She listens to their stories and worries and responds with compassion
and empathy. She is a dedicated teacher. She arrived early each day and stayed late in order to be
prepared for her upcoming lessons and activities. It was very evident that Miss Stern wanted to do her
best job in order to get the best from her students.

I strongly endorse Miss Stern for any teaching position you have in your school. She plans excellent
lessons, has strong classroom management techniques, and is a wonderful role model for her students
and others. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about Miss Stern. I will gladly share more
anecdotal stories so she can be your lead candidate for a teaching position.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Lisa Turner
