𝑦 = 𝑚𝑥 = 𝑏
Using (3, 4)
4 = 1(3) + 𝑏

𝑦 = 𝑥 + 1Answer

Q no. 3: Find the slope and y intercept of the line 8𝑥 + 5𝑦 = 20

Solution:
8𝑥 + 5𝑦 = 20
5𝑦 = 20 − 8𝑥
𝑦 = −8𝑥 + 20

So,
m = -8/5 (Slope), b = 4 (y intercept) Answer

Q no. 4 : Find the circle and radius of the circle

𝑥 2 + 𝑦 2 + 4𝑥 − 6𝑦 − 3 = 0
Solution:

𝑥 2 + 𝑦 2 + 4𝑥 − 6𝑦 − 3 = 0
𝑥 2 + 𝑦 2 + 4𝑥 − 6𝑦 = 3
𝑥 2 + 4𝑥 + 2 − 2 + 𝑦 2 − 6𝑦 + 9 − 9 = 0
(𝑥 + 2)2 − 2 + (𝑦 − 3)2 − 9 = 3
(𝑥 + 2)2 + (𝑦 − 3)2 = 14
Comparing : (𝑥 − ℎ)2 + (𝑦 − 𝑘)2 = 𝑟 2

−ℎ=2 −𝑘 = −3 𝑟 2 = 14

ℎ=2 𝑘= 3 𝑟 = 3.74

radius = 3.74, Centre (h, k) = (2,3) Answer.
