I am pleased to recommend Gaurab Majumdar for the Masters Program in your university. I have known
Gaurab for the past four years teaching him courses in Engineering Mechanics (Semester 1), Engineering
Thermodynamics and Fluid mechanics(semester 2), Fluid mechanics and Hydraulic machines(semester 4),
Metrology and Measurements(semester 5), Materials Handling (semester 6), Advanced Manufacturing
Technology (semester 7) . I have also supervised his laboratory work for these subjects. During this time I have
had interactions with Gaurab on an academic and personal level. What struck me instantly was his commitment
to his work and his desire to achieve excellence in whatever he undertakes.

In all my classes, Gaurab has been an active participant in classroom discussions and has excelled in all the
subjects that I have taught him, constantly securing above 70 percent. He has always submitted his assignments
and project reports well before deadlines and he is well focussed with a keen interest in the practical application
of the subject. His habit of relating everything taught in class with the everyday applications has strengthened
his base. Hence, his knowledge of the subjects of Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics and advanced
manufacturing, is extremely thorough. Other than the stipulated work in class, Gaurab, has taken up several
other initiatives and excelled in them. He is currently working on a project for the Bend test of welding in which
destructive and non destructive tests would be performed by him on a MIG welding of stainless steel (304L).
Along with five of his classmates, he is doing the necessary study required to make the project a success. His
work on this project highlights his thorough knowledge in the subjects of materials science, heat and mass
transfer, etc.

Doing well academically has not limited his involvement in other sectors. He has successfully been part of the
student council as the cultural member of the college and has represented college and organized events and
festivals exceptionally well. He is also an excellent sportsman representing the college in sports like football and
cricket and has been the winners of the intra and inter college competitions.

On a personal level, I believe he can make a good future research engineer. He is hardworking,
ambitious and will trace his path to success. With consistent academic performance, intellectual acumen
and leadership skills, he stands out as a distinguished and valuable student of our institute. I believe that
he has the requisite motivation, dedication and devotion to attain his career goals. Therefore, I strongly
recommend him for higher studies at your honored university.
