a teaching position in your district. I was Sarah’s University Supervisor during the
spring semester, 2017 on behalf of the University of Connecticut, Neag School of
Education as she did her student teaching in social studies at E.O Smith High School.

I thoroughly enjoyed supervising Sarah’s student teaching experience. She showed

herself to be enthusiastic, adaptable, communicative, and well prepared. I saw her as
thoughtful in the types of lessons which she prepared, demonstrating a strong
understanding and knowledge of her students. She was always willing to adapt and
modify her lessons to meet student needs, which led to high student engagement in
the learning process. She was always professional in her interactions with students
and other professionals. I saw her lessons as very creative, which sparked student
interest in social studies and encouraged higher level thinking about historical issues
and trends. Her classroom management was solid and comfortable. She was always
willing to engage in self-critique and to listen to and use suggestions made from me. I
enjoyed her enthusiasm, sincerity and good nature, and the very positive way this
impacted student learning.

I highly recommend Sarah Norman without any reservation. I am convinced that she
will be an outstanding teacher and an asset to your school district.
