Viden, engagement og kreativitet
Pihl har ekspanderet kraftigt de seneste årtier og har oplevet
stor vækst i ordrer på både det danske og udenlandske marked.
Væksten er sket som følge af en naturlig udvikling af vore
forretningsområder. Pihl er fortsat et privatejet selskab, hvor
drivkraften er viden, engagement og kreativitet kombineret med
handlekraft og evne til at se nye muligheder – også i et uforud-
sigeligt og turbulent marked som det nuværende.
I samme periode har Pihl tiltrukket mange dygtige medarbejdere,
såvel i Danmark som i udlandet.
Vi forventer, at vore opgaver i de kommende år vil bestå af be-
tydelige anlægsopgaver, renoveringer og opførelse af offentlige
bygninger. Danmark står i lighed med en række andre lande
over for store offentlige anlægsinvesteringer i udbygning af de
mest belastede veje, renovering af et nedslidt jernbanenet samt
tiltrængt fornyelse af vore forsynings- og spildevandssystemer
og renovering af offentlige bygninger.
Det vil altid være fornuftigt at iværksætte offentlige anlægsop-
gaver, som på længere sigt er til stor gavn og nytte for samfun-
det. Offentlige og private investeringer skaber dynamik og holder
hjulene i gang, mens manglende handlekraft forstærker en krise
og giver grobund for pessimisme og manglende tro på fremtiden.
Pihl har gennem de senere år deltaget i flere offentligt-private-
partnerskaber i udlandet, og i 2007 vandt OPP-Pihl Arkivet A/S
det første danske, statslige OPP om opførelse af et nyt rigsarkiv
i København. Pihl forventer, at denne projektform vil blive mere
udbredt i Danmark .
Det glæder mig at kunne præsentere et udvalg af vore seneste
projekter. Udover store infrastrukturprojekter, anlæg af kraftværk-
er, renovering af offentlige bygninger, domicilbyggeri og kultur-
huse, har Pihl blandt andet udført etablering af spildevandsled-
ninger og opført større erhvervs- og boligbyggerier.

Know-how, commitment and creativity
Pihl has been expanding rapidly during the past decades and
has seen a very considerable growth in the number of contracts;
both within Denmark and internationally. This growth has been
a natural consequence of the development of our range of
business disciplines. Pihl remains a privately owned company,
driven by know-how, commitment and creativity combined with
the insight and ability to spot new opportunities – despite the
unpredictable and tumultuous markets we are witnessing today.
During this same period Pihl has succeeded in attracting many
highly skilled employees; in Denmark as well as abroad.
We anticipate that many of our tasks in the coming years will
involve major civil engineering works and the renovation and
construction of public buildings. Denmark is, like many other
countries, looking forward to undertaking such an investment
programme, which will include the construction of new public
buildings and civil engineering projects; the renovation of ageing
public buildings; the enlargement of the country’s most congest-
ed roads, the renovation of a worn-down railway network and a
much-needed upgrading of our potable and waste water systems.
It is always prudent to implement public building and civil
engineering projects, which will, in the long run, be to the wider
benefit of society. Public and private investment creates eco-
nomic initiative and keeps wheels turning; should this falter, the
consequent lack of drive worsens a crisis, nourishes pessimism
and leads to a lack of faith in the future.
Over recent years Pihl has participated in several Public Private
Partnerships abroad, and in 2007 the PPP enterprise, OPP-Pihl
Arkivet A/S, won the first state PPP for construction of Denmark’s
new national archives in Copenhagen, “Rigsarkivet”. Pihl expects
this type of partnership project to become more commonplace in
the future.
I am delighted to present to you a selection of our latest
projects. Apart from the construction of large infrastructure
projects, power plants, the renovation of public buildings and
the construction of office and cultural buildings, Pihl has also
carried out sewage piping projects and built large commercial
and industrial buildings as well as residential projects.

Trafik til fremtiden
Den demografiske udvikling, pendling og samhandel medfører
et øget pres på infrastrukturen. Udbygning af de mest belastede
veje og renovering af et nedslidt jernbanenet er derfor vigtige
indsatsområder, som har stor betydning for borgere, arbejdskraft
og erhvervsliv.
Traffic – meeting future demands
Demographic development, commuting and economic expan-
sion place an increasing pressure on infrastructure. Extension
of the most congested roads and renovation of worn down
railway networks have become a major focus for improvement,
which will have a huge impact on the life of citizens, the work-
force and business.

Planlægning er en stor udfordring ved større infra-
strukturprojekter. Ét er at bygge en ny motorvej,
noget andet er udbygning af eksisterende anlæg,
hvor trafikken afvikles samtidig med udbygningen,
som fx Motorring 3 (M3), en af hovedstadsområ-
dets mest trafikerede motorveje.
CJV E18, Norge
I udlandet har man i en årrække anvendt OPP-
modeller, hvor der, udover finansiering af anlæg,
er taget højde for den efterfølgende drift. Pihl del-
tager blandt andet i OPP-motorvejsprojektet CJV
E18 i Norge mellem Grimstad og Kristiansand, hvor
projektselskabet, som Pihl er medejer af, har den
efterfølgende drift af vejen i en periode på 25 år.
Northern Coastal Highway, Jamaica:
Nyanlæg og rehabilitering af en 127 km lang
vejstrækning fra Ocho Rios til Port Antonio og fra
Montego Bay til Greenside.
M3, Copenhagen
Large infrastructure projects require expert
planning. The construction of a new motorway
is a challenge in itself, but extending an existing
motorway becomes far more complex since the
execution of the works has to be planned around
the continued use of the highway. Take, for
example, the bypass motorway M3, one of Greater
Copenhagen’s most congested routes.
CJV E18, Norway
Public Private Partnership (PPP) business models
have been used outside Denmark for a number
of years. Beyond providing project finance, PPP’s
also provide for the on-going operation of a com-
pleted project. Pihl is participating in a PPP motor-
way project known as CJV E18 in Norway; a stretch
of motorway between the towns of Grimstad and
Kristiansand. The company delivering the project,
in which Pihl is a co-owner, is responsible for the
operation of the road for a 25-year period.

I større byer og trafikbelastede områder giver underjordiske
tunneler til bil- og togtrafik mange fordele for trafikken og for
miljøet. Støj og forurening fra biler og tung trafik mindskes,
rejsetider for pendlere afkortes, og det er muligt at skabe bilfri
byrum, uden at byen mister sin puls, når borgere, gæster og
erhvervsdrivende kan komme hurtigt til og fra byen.
Sustainable traffic solutions
“Citybanan” Stockholm, Sverige / Stockholm’s City Line, Sweden

In large cities and areas of congested traffic, underground vehic-
le and train tunnels offer many advantages allowing smoother
traffic flow and environmental benefits. Noise, car and heavy
traffic pollution are all reduced, commuters’ travel time is short-
ened and it becomes possible to create car-free zones without
the city losing its dynamism as citizens, visitors and business-
people can travel quickly into and out of a city.

Norra Länken, Sverige
Med motorvejsprojektet Norra Länken i Stockholm
bliver dele af en af den svenske hovedstads mest
trafikerede veje ført under jorden. Pihl-Züblin
Konsortiet har vundet ”design and build”-kontrakt
på etablering af en ”cut and cover”-tunnel og en
sprængt tunnel under en eksisterende seks-
sporet vej.
“Citybanan” i Stockholm
I Stockholm har man desuden valgt at etablere
en ca. seks km lang citybane, der fordobler
sporkapaciteten i byen. Rejsetiderne med tog til
og fra Stockholm afkortes, og den øgede kapacitet
får positiv indflydelse på togtrafikken i resten af
landet. Pihl-Züblin Konsortiet udfører bl.a. banens
sænketunnel på 300 meter gennem Söderström-
men i det centrale Stockholm.
P-anlæg, København
Bilerne kommer væk fra gaden, anlæggene er
diskrete, og de kan forholdsvis nemt indpasses
i bymiljøet. Pihl etablerer i øjeblikket tre under-
jordiske anlæg til installation af fuldautomatiske
p-anlæg i tætbebyggede områder i København for
Københavns Kommune.

Malmö Citytunnel
Drilled double tunnel for railway traffic carried out
by JV Malmö Citytunnel Group.
Norra Länken, Sweden
The motorway project “Norra Länken” in Stock-
holm, Sweden, will place a section of one of
Stockholm’s most congested roads underground.
The Pihl-Züblin consortium has won a ”design
and build” contract for the construction of a ”cut
and cover” tunnel and a dynamite blasted tunnel
under an existing six-lane highway.
The City Line in Stockholm
In Stockholm it has also been decided to construct
a six-kilometre urban railway, which will double
the rail capacity of the city. Travelling times to
and from Stockholm will be reduced, and this
increased rail capacity will also have a positive
influence on railway traffic across Sweden. The
Pihl-Züblin consortium is, among other projects,
executing the 300-metre submerged railway tun-
nel through the “Söderströmmen” in the centre
of Stockholm.
Parking lot, Copenhagen
Cars are not visible on the streets and the plant
and machinery associated with car parks are
scarcely visible, blending easily in with the city
environment. Pihl is currently creating three un-
derground parking facilities in densely populated
areas of Copenhagen, which will each provide
fully automated parking systems. The client is the
Municipality of Copenhagen.

Verden bliver mindre
Broer, havne og lufthavne har stor betydning for den samlede in-
frastruktur og for den måde, vi opfatter verden på. Da den første
bro over Lillebælt blev indviet i 1935, kom landsdelene tættere
på hinanden. Dette blev forstærket med Storebæltsbroen i 1998.
I dag er Danmark via Øresundsbroen forbundet med nabolandet
Sverige og bliver det yderligere i fremtiden med Femern Bælt-
forbindelsen til Tyskland.
The world is getting smaller
Bridges, ports and airports have a major impact on global
Yallahs Bridge, Jamaica infrastructure and on the way we perceive the world. When the
first bridge over the Little Belt was opened in 1935, the various
regions of Denmark were brought closer together. This was
strengthened with the opening of the Great Belt Bridge in 1998.
Today, Denmark is closely connected with neighbouring Sweden
by the Oresund Bridge and there are plans to build a new bridge
between Denmark and Germany; the Fehmarnbelt Bridge.

Pihl har udført mange opgaver på det afrikanske
kontinent, i USA og Caribien. Blandt andet bro
over Yallahs River på Jamaica og bro og færgeter-
minal i Oak Bluffs på øen Martha’s Vineyard
i Massachusetts, USA.
Broer i Danmark
I Danmark spænder Pihls vandbygningsprojekter
fra underbygning til Storebæltsbroens østbro og
sænketunnel under Øresund, til mindre projekter
som cykel- og gangbroer, fx drejebroen Brygge-
broen, betonfundament til Åbuen i København
og anlæg af den nye Helgoland badeanstalt ved
Amager Strandpark.
Jamaica and USA
Pihl has carried out many projects on the African
continent, in the USA and in the Caribbean. Some
examples are: a bridge over the Yallahs River in
Jamaica and the bridge and ferry terminal in Oak
Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, USA.
Bridges in Denmark
Pihl has participated in a number of hydraulic
engineering projects, including the substructure
for the East Bridge of the Great Belt Bridge, a
submerged tunnel under Oresund and smaller
projects such as bridges for pedestrians and
cyclists. Examples include; the swing bridge
Bryggebroen, the concrete foundation for Åbuen
in Copenhagen and the establishment of the new
outdoor public baths of Helgoland at Amager
Strandpark, also in Copenhagen.
Havne, Caribien
I flere dele af verden er der et stigende behov
for bedre havnefaciliteter. I Caribien har Pihl
forlænget og udvidet et eksisterende kajanlæg
i Kingston Havn på Jamaica og opført ny container-
havn. På Trinidad arbejder vi på en udvidelse af
Port of Brighton i La Brea. Et projekt, som bl.a.
inkluderer ny kaj, der kan tage imod skibe på op
til 60.000 ton, og et 85.000 m2 stort lagerareal,
der skabes ved opfyldning af udgravet materiale
fra udvidelse af havnen.
Port of Stone Town, Zanzibar
Nedbrydning af eksisterende kajanlæg, design
af spunsanlæg og anlæg af nyt kajanlæg i Stone
Town Havn, som håndterer det meste af trafikken
ind og ud af Zanzibar.
Lufthavne, Mozambique
Pihl har mange års erfaring med anlæg af
lufthavne, fra Grønland i nord til Afrika i syd, og
forestår i konsortium med Semco Maritime reno-
vering af tre lufthavne i byerne Beira, Quelimane
og Tete i Mozambique. Renoveringsarbejderne
finansieres af Danida og indgår i Danmarks
udviklingsprogram i det tidligere borgerkrigs-
hærgede land.
Luba Freeport, Ækvatorial Guinea
Luba Freeport i Ækvatorial Guinea har status som
regionens mest effektive offshore havn. Pihl har
stået for etablering af moderne kajfaciliteter.

Harbour works, the Carribean
There is an increasing demand for improved port
facilities in many regions of the world. In the Carib-
bean, Pihl has extended an existing quay area at
the Port of Kingston in Jamaica and constructed a
new container port. In Trinidad & Tobago we are
working on an extension of the Port of Brighton
at La Brea; a project comprising a new quay that
can take vessels of up to 60,000 metric tons and
a container yard covering 85,000 square metres
made from recycling material dug up in connection
with extension of the port.
Port of Stone Town, Zanzibar
Demolition of an existing quay, piling design and
construction of a new quay in the Port of Stone
Town, which handles most of the incoming and
outgoing seaborne traffic in Zanzibar.
Airports, Mozambique
Pihl has many years’ experience in the field of air-
port construction - from Greenland in the North to
Africa in the South. We are currently leading a con-
sortium with Semco Maritime for the renovation
of three airports in the towns of Beira, Quelimane
and Tete in Mozambique. The works are financed
by Danish International Development Agency
(Danida) and form part of Denmark’s international
development programme in a country previously
ravaged by civil war.
Luba Freeport, Equatorial Guinea
Luba Freeport in Equatorial Guinea enjoys a repu-
tation as the region’s most efficient offshore port.
Pihl has been in charge of establishing modern
quay facilities.

Fremtidens energikilder
Vandkraftværker er anlægsprojekter i den ofte helt store skala,
hvor naturens kræfter skal tæmmes og udnyttes. Kraftværker
er komplicerede at opføre, men billige i drift og producerer
bæredygtig energi til mange tusinde husstande. Pihl har opført
kraftværker siden 1950’erne. Først i Island, hvor Pihl har været
med til at opføre de fleste af landets største vandkraftværker,
og siden i Grønland og Panama.
Energy sources of the future
Hydro power plants are normally very large civil engineering
projects involving the exploitation and control of nature’s forces.
Hydro power plants are complex structures, but are inexpensive
to operate and produce sustainable energy for many thousand
households. Pihl has been building hydro power plants since
the 1950’s. The first was in Iceland, where Pihl has participated
in constructing most of the country’s largest plants, and more
recently in Greenland and Panama.

Kárahnjúkar Vandkraftværk, Island
Kárahnjúkar Vandkraftværk i Island er et stort
underjordisk vandkraftværk med seks generatorer
og en kapacitet på 690 MW. Kraftværket er 115 m
langt, 15 m bredt og 34 m højt med et transformer-
rum af næsten samme størrelse. Adgangen til
kraftværk og transformerrum sker gennem en 1 km
lang underjordisk tunnel.
Changuinola Vandkraftværk, Panama
Vandkraftværftet ved Changuinola-floden i Pana-
ma bygges til at kunne modstå orkaner og jord-
skælv. Pihl, MT Højgaard og Alstom-konsortiets
kontrakt er en EPC-kontrakt (Engineering, Procure-
ment and Construction). Vandkraftværket vil
rumme to turbiner, generatorer og transformere,
som hver yder 103 MW, svarende til en produktion
på 939 GWH pr. år. Anlægget består af en 90 meter
høj Roll-crete-dækning med et overfaldsbygværk,
der kan tage 8.300 m3 pr. sekund. Projektet
omfatter desuden en 4,5 km udsprængt 60 m2
tilløbstunnel samt en kraftstation, opførelse af
adgangsveje, m.m.
Qorlortorsuaq Vandkraftværk, Grønland
udnytter afstrømningen fra oplandet omkring en
sø, og forsyner to små byer med elektricitet.
Lillgrund Vindmøllepark, Sverige
Vindmølleparker producerer store mængder ren
energi. Vindmøller er i lighed med vandkraftanlæg
relativt dyre at etablere, men billige i drift. Ved at
placere vindmøllerne i havet som ved Lillgrund syd
for Øresundsbroen i den svenske del af Øresund,
undgår man desuden støjproblemer. Pihl har
medvirket ved etablering af de 49 gigantiske
fundamenter til Lillgrund Havvindmøllepark.

Kárahnjúkar Hydro Power Plant, Iceland
Kárahnjúkar Hydro Power Plant in Iceland is a
large underground plant with six generators and a
capacity of 690 MW. The hydro power plant is 115
metres long, 15 metres wide and 34 metres high
with a transformer room of almost the same size.
Access to the plant and the transformer room is
via a tunnel of one kilometre.
Changuinola Hydroelectric Power Plant, Panama
The hydro power plant at the Changuinola River
in Panama is being constructed to withstand both
hurricanes and earthquakes. The EPC contract
(Engineering, Procurement and Construction)
was won by the Pihl, MT Højgaard og Alstom con-
sortium. The power plant will hold two turbines,
generators and transformers each with an output
of 103 MW, equivalent to 939 GWH per year. The
plant consists of a 90-metre high roll-crete-dam
incorporating a storm overflow with a capacity
of 8,300 cubic metres per second. The project
includes a 4.5 kilometre, 60-square metre blast
inlet tunnel, a power station, the construction of
access roads and related works.
Qorlortorsuaq Hydro Power Plant, Greenland
exploits the run-off from the hinterland of a lake
and supplies electricity to two small towns.
Lillgrund Offshore Wind Farm, Sweden
Wind farms produce large quantities of clean
energy. They are, like hydro power plants, rather
expensive to install, but inexpensive to operate.
Noise problems are eliminated by placing the wind
farms offshore, as is the case with the Lillgrund
Offshore Wind Farm south of the Oresund Bridge
in the Swedish section of Oresund. Pihl has par-
ticipated in the project by constructing and sup-
plying the 49 gigantic foundations for Lillgrund.

Energioptimeret design
Mange danske skoler, daginstitutioner og hospitaler er opført i
50’erne og 60’erne og står i dag nedslidte eller utidssvarende.
En renovering åbner ofte mulighed for at tage stilling til nye
rumligheder og funktioner, når vægge, lofter og facader isoleres
og istandsættes. Det kan være ovenlysvinduer, der skaber rum
for et ekstra lokale eller en moderniseret aula, der giver flere
anvendelsesmuligheder.
Pihl arbejder med en bred vifte af tiltag inden for energi- og kom-
fortoptimering af bygninger. Modsat traditionel projektering -
hvor design og energioptimering er to adskilte processer - samler
Pihl designfase og energioptimering.
Ved at integrere energi- og indeklimaløsninger allerede i byg-
ningens design kan man opnå en mere markant energireduk-
tion med færre tekniske installationer. Integreret design og
energioptimering vil dermed kunne opleves som en synlig og
æstetisk forbedring af bygningen, der øger bygningens kvalitet
og kommer brugerne til gode gennem fx materialer, dagslys og
bedre indeklima.

Pihl works with a wide range of building enhancements deliver-
ing improved energy efficiency and optimised comfort in use.
As opposed to traditional planning - where design and energy
optimization are two separate processes - Pihl binds together
the design phase and energy optimization.
Integrating energy and indoor climate management from the
design stage makes it possible to minimise energy consumption
using fewer technical installations. This integrated approach is
attractive both aesthetically through improved building quality
and through the benefits it offers occupants including materials,

The new campus, developed by the Midtjylland
county authority, will bring together a number of
healthcare training courses under one roof. Pihl

training capacity of about 2,000 students.

Ny stråleterapibygning for Herlev Regionshospital

beton med en høj densitet, og murene er mere

New radiotherapy building at a regional hospital
in Herlev, which is able to house four radiotherapy
machines for the treatment of cancer patients. Part
of the new building has been constructed under
an existing building. To avoid any radiation danger
from the machines, a specially designed high
density concrete has been used and the walls are
more than one metre thick.
Hospital of Holbæk, Denmark
Complete renovation/reconstruction of six of
the hospital’s buildings (total area 23,000
square metres).
‘DGI-byen’ leisure centre, Copenhagen
The sports and events centre of “DGI-byen” in
central Copenhagen combines sports, culture and
events with conference, hotel and hostel facilities.
Pihl is constructing the centre’s new 16-lane bowl-
ing facility and a conference centre which is able
to accommodate 1,000 visitors.

Sir Norman Fosters enkle, men samtidig meget
komplekse Elefanthus i Københavns Zoo er
arkitektur med indbygget trivsel til havens elefant-
flok opført af Pihl i hovedentreprise. Materialeval-
get er enkelt, men der er kælet for udførelsen, lige
fra den pladsstøbte, indfarvede beton og de to
gigantiske ovenlyskupler, til det udtørrede flodleje
med mudderhuller og søer. Et af Pihls specialer er
pladsstøbt beton, og vi har gennem årene vundet
mange priser for vore betonkonstruktioner. I 2009
modtog Pihl og Københavns Zoo Dansk Byggeris
”Betonprisen” og ”In-situ”-prisen for Elefanthuset.
Det Kgl. Teaters nye Skuespilhus, København
Ved opførelsen af Det Kgl. Teaters nye Skuespilhus
på ca. 22.000 m2 i København har Pihl anvendt
bygbare løsninger, som også er optimale for den
senere drift. Byggeriet er fremtidssikret, så det kan
modstå eventuelle fremtidige vandstandsstignin-
ger og modtog i 2009 Dansk Betons ”Bæredygtig
Beton”-pris.
DR Byen (studie 2, 3, 4)
I DR Byens nye koncertsal er der kræset for
akustikken og for den visuelle oplevelse. Pihls
entreprise på arkitekt Jean Nouvels bygværk har
omfattet indvendig komplettering af studierne
2, 3 og 4, trapper og plinte samt udførelse af
pladsstøbte betonbelægninger omkring DR Byens
fire segmenter.

Gennem de senere år har mange private og offentlige organi-
sationer stået bag kulturhusbyggerier – til gavn og glæde for
mange. Pihl har deltaget i opførelsen af flere af disse projekter.
The stages for wonderful experiences
Over recent years, many private and public organisations have
supported the construction of cultural buildings – to the great
benefit and pleasure of many. Pihl has participated in several
of these projects.
Elephant House, Copenhagen Zoo
Sir Norman Foster’s simple, but complex, elephant
house in Copenhagen Zoo was designed to provide
for the well-being of the herd of elephants which
live there. The house was built by Pihl as main
contractor. The materials used are simple, but the
execution has been carefully detailed, from the
in-situ, colour-matched, cast concrete and the two
gigantic dome lights; to the dry riverbed with mud
holes and lakes. Pihl’s expertise with in-situ cast
concrete has won us many awards over the years
for our work with concrete structures. In 2009, Pihl
and Copenhagen Zoo were awarded the Danish
Construction Association’s “Concrete Prize” and
“In-situ” prize for the Elephant House.
Royal Danish Theatre’s Playhouse, Copenhagen
For the construction of the Royal Danish Thea-
tre’s new playhouse of 22,000 square metres in
Copenhagen Pihl has used construction solutions
which have optimised the subsequent operation
of the building. The building incorporates design
features which allow for future increases in the
local water table and has won the 2009 Danish
Construction Association’s “Sustainable Concrete
Construction” prize.
“DR Byen”, studios 2, 3, 4

In the new concert hall of the DR Byen, special
emphasis has been placed on acoustics and visual
impact. Pihl’s contract for architect Jean Nouvel’s
edifice comprised the internal finishing works
of studios 2, 3 and 4, stairways, cast benches
and the execution of in-situ cast concrete paving
around the four segments of the DR Byen.
Vejle Stadion
Pihl har projekteret og bygget Vejles nye stadion,
hvor hjemmeholdet allerede har taget flere
sejre hjem. Det nye stadion har plads til 10.000
tilskuere, og entreprisen omfattede anlæg af fod-
boldbane, bygninger til diverse formål, herunder
hjørnetårne, og etablering af parkeringspladser.
Kulturværftet, Helsingør Kulturhavn
I 2008 vandt Pihl råhus- og kompletteringsentre-
priserne på Helsingør Kommunes Kulturværft i
Helsingør Kulturhavn. Havnen med Kronborg slot
er i lighed med havnearealet i Liverpool, hvor Pihl
opfører Museum of Liverpool, på UNESCOs liste
over verdenskulturarv.
Nordens Hus, Færøerne
Taget på tilbygningen til Nordens Hus på Færøerne
består af glasopbygning med tørve-/græsbelæg-
ning på de vandrette flader. Entreprisen har omfat-
tet sprængning i klippe, tæt på den eksisterende
bygning, for at få plads til tilbygningen.

Pihl has planned and constructed the new Vejle
Football Stadium, on which the home team has
already won several matches. The contract for the
new stadium, which can hold 10,000 spectators,
comprised the laying out of the pitch, constructing
buildings for a variety of uses including the corner
towers, and the provision of parking facilities.
Culture Yard, Elsinore, Denmark
In 2008 the Municipality of Elsinore awarded
Pihl the carcass and finishing works contract for
the Culture Yard at Elsinore Culture Harbour. The
harbour including Kronborg Castle, like the port
area of Liverpool where Pihl is constructing the
new Museum of Liverpool, is on UNESCO’s World
Heritage List.
Nordens Hus, Faroe Islands
The roof of the extension to “Nordens Hus” on the
Faroe Islands consists of a glass structure with turf
and grass on the horizontal surfaces. The contract
involved blasting rocks close to the existing build-
ing to make room for the new building.

Extension of the Borealis group’s existing produc-
tion plant for the manufacture of plastic granulates
at Stenungsund in Sweden. Pihl’s construction
works are being carried out very close to the exist-
ing plant which will be in operation throughout
the execution of the works. The project involves a
complex industrial plant consisting of a number
of structures, various foundations, piping and
pavement works.

Copenhagen Towers
Copenhagen Towers, with its 85-metre tower,
will become a memorable feature of Copenhagen’s

quarter. Copenhagen Towers has been designed
by British architects Foster+Partners in coope-
ration with Dissing+Weitling. It will house shops,
various business occupants and a hotel and
