Welcome to my FAQ / Game Guide on Kirby Superstar, which is, IMHO, the best
action/adventure game for SNES!
DISCLAIMER: I have no clue what most of the enemies official names are. What I
do know, I learned from the Meta-Knight credits, the Arena, and Super Smash
Bros. Melee Trophies. Sorry. If you have an official list or something, Id be
very grateful it if youd mail it to me! Thanks.
NOTE: If something strikes you as bizarre or incorrect about this FAQ, check
out the FAQATFAQM section. I will address claims of strangeness there. I am
usually thorough in finding mistakes or what may seem like mistakes. I fix the
mistakes and clarify what may seem like mistakes in the FAQATFAQM section. So
always check there before emailing me to see if your doubt is cleared. :) If
not, email me. I will proceed to put you in the Acknowledgements section and
either fix or clarify the perceived mistake.
NOTE: If you see a line break (what happens when you type Enter/Return) where
there shouldnt be one, or spot a place where there should be one, or find any
problem at all with my FAQ that relates to line breaks, PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT
THEM! This is a MS Word bug. >:( You would be helping me immensely if you
notified me of such problems. Thank you! (UPDATE 2 years later: Actually I have
discovered that this problem only arises when one tries to save a .doc file
into a Unicode .txt file, which I am not doing. There shouldnt be any line
break problems any longer.)
If you are using an emulator: I may put some helpful hints here and there on
how to get past glitches, if any.

| 4. Getting Started / Controls |
`-------------------------------
=================================
Okay, Im assuming you know what the different buttons/D-Pad on the SNES
are/is. Namely, they are:
~~
__________ || __________
|___L______|__||__|______R___|
/ SNES _ \
| _ _/X\_ |
| _| |_ [START ] /Y\_/A\ |
| |_ D _| [SELECT] \_/B\_/ |
| |_| \_/ |
| ______ |
\__________/ \__________/
In Kirby Superstar, there are 9 parts. Six of them are separate games, and the
other three are like mini-games. Kirby is the main character in all of these.
In all the games except The Arena and usually Gourmet Race (unless you want to
lose), a second person can also play as Kirbys helper. (UPDATE, 2 years later:
actually a second player can join in the fun in the Arena as well. Even in the
Heart of Nova! o_O)
When you first turn on your SNES with the Kirby Superstar Cartridge in it (or
load the ROM of the cartridge), you should see something that says Nintendo
Halken. Then it kinda falls off the screen, and a cadenza plays as you see
Kirby flying around on his Warp Star. Emulator Hint: The emulator may freeze
while Kirby is flying around, so press Start IMMEDIATELY! (UPDATE 2 years
later: The ZSNES team has long since fixed this bug. I dont know about SNES9X
though.) Soon, it ends and you see a screen that shows Beam Kirby and the words
Kirby Superstar. At this point, you can either wait a second and see the
demos of the different games in Kirby Superstar, or press Start. Choose a file
(there are three) to begin playing.
Now youre at the main screen. It looks like a bulletin board. Four games are
available: Spring Breeze, Gourmet Race, Dyna Blade, and The Great Cave
Offensive, in order of difficulty. There are also two more games that looked
faded. This means they are not playable yet. They are: The Revenge of
Meta-Knight and Milky Way Wishes, in order of difficulty. There are also two
mini-games available: Megaton Punch and Samurai Kirby. There is also an icon
that looks like a radio. Use this to change between Stereophonic and Monaural
(Stereo and Mono) sound. There are two hidden icons: The Arena and Sound Test.
Unlock The Arena by beating all the games and minigames. Unlock the Sound Test
by beating The Arena. You can start your game with any of the four games, but I
recommend Spring Breeze because its easy and gives you a chance to get used to
the controls.
These are the controls. Normal Kirby means Kirby when he hasnt copied an
enemy. Special Kirby means Kirby when he has. An ability object is the
embodiment of a certain enemys abilities. If Kirby swallows it, he gains that
enemys abilities, just as if he had swallowed the enemy. If Kirbys helper
touches it, they turn into whatever enemy the ability object came from (but
they still are loyal to Kirby).
A (Normal Kirby) - Kirby does something that looks like sneezing out of his
sides. @_@ If it touches your helper, it turns them into an ability object.
A (Special Kirby) - Kirby discards his current abilities and turns them into an
ability object.
A (2P, no Helper) - Creates a Helper from Kirbys current abilities.
A (2P as Helper) - Makes the Helper warp to Kirbys current position (used to
catch up with Kirby if he leaves you behind).
B (Kirby, on ground) - Kirby jumps into the air.
B (Kirby, in the air) - Kirby sucks in air and jumps upward a little. Can be
done endlessly, causing Kirby to soar high into the air. It is kind of slow
and a little hard to control. Its hard to describe.
B (Jet Kirby) - Kirby uses his jet pack to soar upwards while you hold B.
B (Wing Kirby) - Kirby flaps his wings and jumps a little higher. Can be
repeated endlessly.
B (Kirby, in water) - Swim upwards; Kirby sinks, so this is necessary.
B (2P, anywhere) - Same as B for the same type of Kirby as the helper you are
now. I.e. B for Birdon will be the same as B for Wing Kirby. This also
allows the helper to fly like Kirby does, except that with the helper, after
some time in the air, the helper gets tired and cant fly as well.
X - Depends on the specific game.
Y (Normal Kirby) - Inhale an enemy, star block, or ability object.
A (Normal Kirby, after inhaling an enemy or ability object) - Swallow and copy
the abilities of the enemy or ability object. However, you cannot copy
abilities by this method in the sub-game Milky Way Wishes (see Section 10).
Y (Special Kirby, not flying) - Attack. Used in combination with D-Pad and
other buttons.
Y (Kirby, flying) - Let out the air in your... lungs (?). Works as an attack
too. It also makes you drop like a rock. Sometimes this can be not so good.
If youre above where you want to land, it should be fine. 2P doesnt need
to do this because the helper doesnt suck in air while flying. Kirby cant
use his special abilities while flying. Flying with jet-packs and wings
doesnt count.
Y (Kirby, in water) - A water gun attack. It can be directed with the D-Pad.
Some Special Kirby forms, like Sword Kirby, will do one of their special
attacks instead, though.
D-Pad (in water) Swim in different directions.
Left/Right (on land) - Walk left/right. Push left/right twice quickly, holding
it down the second time, in order to dash/run.
Down (on land) - Kirby squishes himself flat.
Down (on some ledges) - Drop through the ledge.
Down+B (on land) - Slide kick attack.
L/R (on land) Brace/Shield. This blocks most attacks, and decreases the
damage you get from the others. You cannot move while using the shield. It
will not protect you if someone tries to grab you.
Up (when Kirby is landing on the helper or the helper is landing on Kirby) - A
super jump. Youll spring off your companion.
Touch helper after getting food or Maxim Tomato Kirby will share the food
with the helper both Kirby and the helper will get the full benefit of the
food, somehow. This only works for a few seconds after getting the food
though.
Thats all! (I really doubt I missed anything but please do tell me if I did.)
Game-specific info will be included in the walkthrough for that game.

| 5. Spring Breeze Walkthrough |
`------------------------------
================================
Select Spring Breeze from the main menu. A box will pop up. It says, HELP! All
the food from Dream Land has been stolen! Hurry, Kirby, or everyone will
starve! Yeah, right. If Kirby just stayed away from enemies, he wouldnt lose
health and would never have to eat food! Anyway, push A or Start. Now there
will be a screen that says Spring Breeze and New Game. If you want, wait to
see the prologue. It shows King Dedede (Kirbys rival, a fat penguin) stealing
food. Select New Game. It asks if this is the first time youre playing. If
youre reading this paragraph, it probably is. Then you go to something called
the Beginners Show, where you get some hands-on experience of the basic
controls. Just follow the instructions. Its not that hard. If you want to be
funny, try doing everything BUT what its telling it to do. It might get mad at
you, or try to coax you to do what its telling you to! Ha ha. This is
especially funny on the part where you have to inhale the enemy. Fly high above
them, then push Y and let Kirby fall and crush them. Or, once you inhale the
enemy, instead of hitting the target, jump around with the enemy in your mouth
and finally jump onto the guy holding the target! Anyway, jump on the Warp Star
when youre finished.
,------------------.
---| 5.1 Green Greens |--------------------------------------------------------
`------------------
Now youre in the first level, Green Greens. Walk to the right and inhale the
Waddle Doo with Y. Then push A to swallow it, and turn into Beam Kirby! Read
about him in the Kirbys Forms section. Maybe you recognize him from the Title
Screen. Continue to the right and over the wall. Kill the mushroom with any
Beam Kirby attack. Watch out for the bee thing that flies by. Go right until
you reach a gap. Charge up your Wave Beam by holding Y, and let loose on the
Waddle Dee. Jump on the Warp Star.
Now youre in the next section of Green Greens. Kill the Poppy Bros. Jr. with
another Wave Beam. Walk to the right to face the miniboss, Poppy Bros.
Continue to the right. Watch out for another Poppy Bros. Jr. Kill it. Use the
Beam Whip to destroy the Star Blocks if the Poppy Bros. Jr. didnt already. Eat
the food below them, then continue right. Kill the bee and yet another Poppy
Bros. Jr. Theres a bear at the end. Its kinda hard to kill, but just use Wave
Beams on it and itll die. Alternatively, you can use Capture Beam twice, and
it will die. Go through the door.
Now youre apparently inside a tree. ??? Use Beam Whip on the Waddle Doo, then
jump up to where it was. Jump up once more and IMMEDIATELY use Beam Whip
repeatedly because a bear will charge at you. The Beam Whip should stop it in
its tracks. Then kill it with a Wave Beam. Ignore the star block to your right.
Go left and break the star blocks. Get the 1UP (life) behind them. Jump up to
the next platform and kill the Waddle Dee. Jump up again and kill the mushroom.
If you need some health, break the star block on the right, then go down and
get the tomato. Fly back up and go through the door and go down to face the
boss.
,-------------------.
---| 5.2 Float Islands |-------------------------------------------------------
`-------------------
The second level of Spring Breeze is the Float Islands. As soon as you land,
hit A to create a helper, hit A again to turn your helper into an ability
object. Then run up and inhale the guy walking towards you and swallow him. Now
you are Fighter Kirby! Yesss! He is one of the best Kirbys. Read about his
moves in the Kirbys Forms section. Now go right. Fly over the water; theres
nothing there. Destroy the star blocks and the octopus with Vulcan Jab
(repeatedly tap Y). Destroy the next octopus with Smash Punch (Push Y and dont
let go as fast). Go through the door.
Now youre in a cave. There are a lot of flying mask things all over the place.
Kill them when you see them. They can teleport around, so I cant describe
where they are. Drop down, go right, climb up the ladder (press Up), go right,
jump across the gap, and destroy the star blocks. Wow, a secret door! Go in.
See those things on the ceiling that look like seeds? Theyre explosive, so
stay away from them. They fall if you go under them, but luckily they die in
water, so swim to the bottom of the pool (dont worry - Kirby can breathe
underwater) and swim right. Wait till all the bombs explode, then get the 1UP.
Go back through the door. Go down through the gap. There should be a flying
mask and a snowman. Be careful; the snowman can make icicles fall on you. Use
your shield and you should be fine. If he covers himself with an icy cloud,
stay away! Kill him and destroy the star blocks. The spiky thing is invincible,
so stay away from it. Go through the door.
Now youre on a sidewalk. Huh? A sparkling piece of candy should fall from the
sky. Get it, and you will become invincible for a short period of time. HURRY!
Run right, through the Burnin Leo, the sweeper, the birds, another sweeper,
and another Burnin Leo, and through the door. Face the miniboss. I like to
call him the Icy Walrus because I have no clue what his official name is.
Jump on the Warp Star. Youll fly up through some enemies and concrete to the
next section of this level. I tried using Rising Break jump (see notes on
Fighter Kirby) on the concrete, but its unbreakable (except by Warp Star), so
just use the Warp Star!
Kill the walking bomb, get the ice cream, kill the Blade Knight and the Sir
Kibble, and enter the door to meet the bosses.
,-------------------.
---| 5.3 Bubbly Clouds |-------------------------------------------------------
`-------------------
Welcome to the third level of Spring Breeze. You begin on a cloud. On the cloud
to the right of you, there is a Blade Knight. If you inhaled it, you would
become Sword Kirby. Hes useful, and almost as good as Fighter Kirby. Youll
need to practice with Sword Kirby if youre going to attempt The Revenge of
Meta-Knight, but for now, Ill assume youre staying with Fighter Kirby. Kill
the Blade Knight. A Smash Punch wont reach, so jump over to his cloud. Watch
out for the artillery gun below. Your shield will protect you from it. Dont
attack the artillery gun - you cant destroy it. Continue right to where you
see a stone wall. Kill the Blade Knight and the two Evil Cats. Go into the
door.
Kill the Sir Kibble and the Waddle Doo, then use Rising Break on the Simirror.
If it was a fake Simirror, kill the real one when it appears. Continue upwards,
killing the Waddle Dee and another Sir Kibble, and enter the door.
Immediately start shielding, or a bee will hit you. Wait till it kills itself
by flying into your shield. Then kill the two hen things (whats with that?
They have no legs! That is SCARY.) and the other bee, if it hasnt flown away
yet. Fly through the door in the upper right hand corner and face the miniboss.
Now youre in a stone area with an area of water, and a weird thing that walks
around and shoots bent music notes at you. Also, there is a huge wall of star
blocks to your right. Kill the singing thing with Down Kick, then destroy the
star blocks. Theres an ice cream cone near the top. Watch out for the spiky
stone block in the bottom right. Kill the flowers (if you wait long enough,
theyll try to eat you), then fly up through the passage. Theres a Poppy Bros.
Jr. at the top. Keep flying below the platform and wait for it to blow itself
up. Laugh and then fly up by the door. If youre low on health, drop down on
the other side and get the Maxim Tomato. The block that its on will disappear
if you land on it, so fly low and grab the Maxim Tomato, then fly back up.
Again, wait for the Poppy Bros. Jr. to destroy itself. Enter the door.
Kill the two Sir Kibbles with Rising Breaks. Then jump up, avoiding the Waddle
Doos. Kill them, and jump up once again. Kill the two Rockys (Since this is a
Proper noun, Im not going to change the y to an ie). If you fly upwards, a
sleeping bear will fall out of nowhere, so dont. Or, if you want...
Walk in the door (whether in the secret place or just in the room with the
Rockys they both lead to the same place) to face the boss.
This is the final level of Spring Breeze. All you do here is defeat the fat
penguin (King Dedede) and get back the food. Your Warp Star will crash land
right in front of a door. There is a Rocky, a Poppy Bros. Jr., a Waddle Doo,
and a Parasol Waddle Dee in case you want to become Stone, Bomb, Beam, or
Parasol Kirby. Since Fighter Kirby is arguably better than all of these, Id
recommend you keep your current form. If you lost it somewhere, I recommend
inhaling the Waddle Doo so you can use Wave Beam. Go through the door into ...
a boxing ring!?
Watch the credits, then press Start when Kirby holds up the sign. THE END!
===============================
,-----------------------------.
| 6. Gourmet Race Walkthrough |
`-----------------------------
===============================
Select Gourmet Race on the main screen. A box will pop up, saying Race through
Gourmet World to the finish, gobbling up all the tasty treats you can find.
In this game, you have to race through three levels. To win each level, you
have to get more food than King Dedede AND beat him to the finish line. Select
Grandprix, then Yes (again). Do the Beginners Show thing again.
,--------------.
---| 6.1 Course 1 |------------------------------------------------------------
`--------------
As soon as the pistol goes off, run right. Eat food in your path as you go.
After you cross two hills, there will be some food in the air. Jump to get it,
but DONT FLY! It wastes time. Continue and jump over the block of water (?) on
the ground, getting the food above it. Jump over another block of water in the
same way. Now comes some rocky terrain. Jump when you have to. Ignore the Maxim
Tomato. When you come to star blocks, just wait until King Dedede comes and
breaks them for you. While hes still breaking them, youll get the food in
them! You can also get a head start on him while hes putting his hammer away.
Keep going until you reach the finish line.
,--------------.
---| 6.2 Course 2 |------------------------------------------------------------
`--------------
Hurry to the right, eating food as you go. There are some bumpy spots, so jump
if you see food in the air. Try not to fly. When you start going down hill, be
careful because it is very bumpy. At the end of the slope, jump twice, DONT
FLY! Then jump to the platform in the air - theres more food there. King
Dedede will probably pass you at the part where you have to zigzag upwards,
because he can jump higher than you, but dont worry. At the end of the zigzag
theres a Maxim Tomato in the corner, which Dedede will stop to get, and you
can pass him then. When you get to a ladder, climb it, its faster. You can
jump off the ladder before it ends by pushing B. After the ladder, there will
be two routes, so take the higher one. Youre almost there! Keep going until
you reach the finish line.
,--------------.
---| 6.3 Course 3 |------------------------------------------------------------
`--------------
Run right, until you get to the things floating in the air. They are abilities.
If you touch them, youll become that specific Kirby. Wait until the fifth and
last one (the wheel) and get it. Press Y to turn into a wheel and roll really
fast. Dont roll yet, though. Run right, behind Dedede (who may have overtaken
you while you got the Wheelie ability). Fall down, then go right, where Dedede
is hammering at star blocks because he cant fit above them! Ha ha ha! Fly over
the star blocks and leave him behind. Fly up, not touching the walls (theyre
spiky), and go right. Dont go in the water, it will slow you down. Go down by
standing on the bricks. They will break. When you hit the ground (cloud?), push
Y to become a wheel. Keep going until you hit a wall. Then fly up, watching out
for a spiky block on the left side. Go down the other side. Try not to fall in
the water right below you, but it doesnt matter that much, plus you get a
Maxim Tomato. Go into the water on the left, and go up by repeatedly pushing B.
Follow the signs, left, down, right (ignore the food on the ceiling), down,
right. When you see the Up sign next to some fried eggs, fly up the first
column, NOT the second. Its faster that way, and a lot more profitable! When
you reach the top of the clouds, fly through a few platforms until you reach
the top one. Then go right and push Y. The finish line is right there! For some
reason, this course doesnt seem as hard to me as Course 2.
If you won more Courses than King Dedede AND got more food, youll win the
Gourmet Race. Youll see a huge Kirby with a small King Dedede looking
sheepish. If you lost, youll see a sad Kirby with a smirking Dedede pulling on
Kirbys face! THE END!
=============================
,---------------------------.
| 7. Dyna Blade Walkthrough |
`---------------------------
=============================
Select Dyna Blade on the main screen. A box will pop up saying, Dyna Blade is
destroying all the crops. She must be stopped. Master the different abilities
and defeat her. Question: Who is Dyna Blade? The final boss, of course! No,
WHAT is Dyna Blade? A huge bird with bad breath, sharp talons, a gilded beak
and noisome chicks. Riiight. Push A to continue. Select New Game, then No
(unless you dont understand how to inhale enemies and copy their abilities).
It will proceed to explain it anyway, but more briefly than in the Beginners
Show. Then youll go to the map. Since you havent gotten to any of the other
levels, push A to go the first one.
,-------------.
---| 7.1 Level 1 |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
Youll start on a small ledge. Go down and right, then inhale the Sir Kibble to
become Cutter Kirby! If youve ever played Super Smash Brothers, this is where
Kirby got his Final Cutter move (Up+B in SSB). Read about Cutter Kirby in the
Kirbys Forms section. Now go through the door.
Go right. If you want to see Final Cutter, go right next to the Waddle Dee when
it lands and repeatedly press Y. Otherwise, kill it with Cutter Boomerang
before it lands. Go right, killing another Waddle Dee, a sweeper, and a Waddle
Doo. Jump over the hill. Kill yet another Waddle, a Sir Kibble, and ANOTHER
Waddle Dee (?!). Then fly above the water as a Waddle Doo and a Waddle Dee die
by walking into the water. Continue right, killing the sweeper and Waddle Doo,
until you reach some bricks. Walk over them. Kill more enemies and go right
until you come to a column filled with bricks. They also break under your
weight. Kill the sweeper, get the food (dont worry, the spiky invincible thing
doesnt move), then go right, kill the Waddle Doo, and go through the door.
Now discard your ability (A to create helper, A to destroy helper). Inhale the
ability object left behind, and spit it out at the bomb block (Y). Inhale the
Waddle Doo to become Beam Kirby again! Climb up the ladder and use beam whip on
the bomb block you cant reach (thats why you had to change to Beam Kirby).
Get the 1UP. Then destroy the other bomb block, releasing the spiky invincible
thing. Wait until it goes away, then climb the ladder. Use beam whip on the
bomb block. Get the food. Climb another ladder. Use Wave Beam on the Poppy
Bros. Jr. and the Waddle Dee. Kill the Waddle Doo with Cycle Beam, then kill
the mask and the bee with Wave Beam. Jump up and go in the door. Use cycle beam
on the Sir Kibble and the sleeper, then get the Maxim Tomato and the Blade
ability on the pedestal. Now youre Sword Kirby! Read about him in the Kirbys
Forms section. Go back out the door. Go up and kill the mask and the bee. Set
off the bomb block, kill the Waddle Doo, then ... dont go through the door!
Fly way up in the air. Youll find a bee and a spiky invincible thing circling
around a Maxim Tomato and a 1UP. Kill the bee, get the stuff, then go back down
and through the door. Go right. Kill the Waddle Dee. Jump up. Dont go through
the platform! Theres a bomb there. Jump up, kill the Waddle Doo, kill the Sir
Kibble, destroy the bomb block, then fall down the hole. Kill the flowers, the
Waddle Doo, and the sleeping bear. Go up, eating the food. Jump under the bomb
block to destroy it. Go up the ladder. Kill the Sir Kibble and climb up the
next ladder. Go right, kill the bomb, then drop down the hole. Get the Maxim
Tomato, then go right to face the boss.
Go right. Do an Aerial Chop on the Sir Kibble on the right. Then jump up to
where he was and kill the others with Chop & Beam. Then go through the door.
Now youre at the Goal. Push A, B, X, or Y when the meter is close to full. If
you get close enough to full, Kirby will fly extremely far and get 3 1UPs. Why
couldnt he just get a 3UP?
Now that youre back on the main map, go to Level 2 (the one that just opened
up).
,-------------.
---| 7.2 Level 2 |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
Go right. Kill the enemies, and go through the door. Go right, kill the Blade
Knight, and DONT GO IN THE DOOR! Theres a miniboss in there that you dont
even need to battle. If you want to anyway, heres a synopsis.
Miniboss: Robot Trident Guy Clone, Zombie Axeman Clone, Robot Mace Guy Clone
Huh? What are Meta-Knights evil henchmen doing here?? Oh, yeah, theyre
clones. Whatever. Theyre not that hard. The Trident Guy tries to fry you
with his electric trident. The Axeman swings or throws his axe at you.
The Mace Guy tries to throw his mace at you. Just attack them before they
attack you. Simple. Your shield doesnt work, unfortunately.
Continue right. Kill the Sir Kibble and the mushroom. Climb the stairs, but not
all the way. A weird bomb guy will drop a bomb right by the top of the ladder,
and then run away in terror. Wait until it explodes, then finish climbing. Kill
the mushroom, then go left and kill the bomber (who is still frantically trying
to escape from the bomb ha ha!) and the Sir Kibble. Then, discard your
ability and inhale the Simirror. Now youre Mirror Kirby! Read about him in the
Kirbys Forms section. Stand right next to the pile of unbreakable bricks and
hold Y to use Reflect Force. This should destroy the bomb block buried under
the bricks and destroy them. Go through the door and jump on the humongous
button. A secret level will appear on the map. Go through the door at the top
to return to the main level.
Kill the enemies (dont destroy the bomb block again!) and go back right and
down the ladder. Kill the mushroom and go back up the ladder. Wait for the
bomber to go away. Then go back up and find the bomber and inhale it. Now
youre Bomb Kirby! Read about him in the Kirbys Forms section. Go once again
back down the ladder. Kill the mushroom. Lay bombs on the star blocks. Destroy
the bomb block at the bottom. Go right. Discard your abilities. Go through the
door.
Inhale the Bio Spark. Now youre Ninja Kirby! Read about him in the Kirbys
forms section. Drop down through the platform. Get the 1UP. Ignore the bomb
block. Triangle jump back up the shaft you fell down (push a wall in midair to
grab it, then press B while sticking to the wall). Go back through the door.
Hit the bomb block. Kill the mushroom, go up the ladder, kill the enemies, but
this time, continue left. Kill the Blade Knight, go halfway up the ladder, and
watch the bomber destroy the Sir Kibble! Climb up, kill the bomber, go right
and prepare to enter the door. In the next room, the screen moves along and if
you dont keep up with it you die. So be ready to go.
Go right, break the blocks, and kill the Sir Kibble. Continue right, killing
another Sir Kibble, and shielding against the explosive things that fall. Keep
going right. Kill a sleeper and another Sir Kibble. Fly up, eating the food.
Kill the lower sleeper and break the blocks at the bottom. Get on the Warp
Star.
Kill the Simirror and the mushroom and go through the door.
In this room, there is a Maxim Tomato and a 1UP, but to get them, you need to
be Wheel Kirby. At the end of this room, there is a boss, so I recommend you
dont get the Maxim Tomato and 1UP unless you really need them because its
going to be hard to beat the boss as Wheel Kirby. Go right, killing enemies and
destroying bomb blocks. If you see a Maxim Tomato and a 1UP, dont get them
because spikes are about to appear under them. Keep going right until you reach
the boss.
Boss: Bonkers
Bonkers is his official name. Just keep using Knife Throw as Ninja Kirby,
and hell die pretty soon. If you became Wheel Kirby, just try to run him
over. You might get hurt though. Whichever way, once hes unconscious,
discard your abilities and inhale him. Now youre Hammer Kirby! Read
about ... oh, you know what I mean. :)
Go through the door. Drop down, eat the food, and hit the post (you can only do
this with a hammer). Geez, you just destroyed the entire level! Dont worry,
itll be back the next time you play it. Go through the door, get the three
1UPs (again ... oh, never mind), and go through the last door.
,-------------.
---| 7.3 Level 3 |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
Now that youre on the main map, there are two things you should do. 1) Check
out that E moving around! Walk around on the map until you touch it. Guess
what? Its E for Enemy! Also known as boss.
Now that hes off the map for good, its time to check out the secret thing you
opened. Go there. Wow! Its a place full of pedestal with ten of Kirbys forms!
But youre already Fighter Kirby, and hes better than the other nine abilities
here. However, later well unlock another stage like this with the other ten
forms. Leave through the door to reach the map. Go and enter the third level.
Go right, killing sleepers, bombs, and Plasma Wisps and destroying star blocks
until you reach a bomb block. Destroy it. Kill the sleeper, go right, kill the
bear, destroy the bomb block, and go in the door that was hidden. This part is
tricky. Heres a diagram of the room:
1 S S S S S S S S
G G G X E D C S S
S S S S S S C S S
S X S S S S B
S S S S S S S
S S A M A A A F
First, Smash Punch the star blocks labeled A. Then get the Maxim Tomato
(M). Then, break block B by flying and letting out air. Stand where block
B was. Break blocks C by jumping twice. Break block D the same way as
block B. Break block E with Vulcan Jab, then run back and stand at F.
Wait until the spiky invincible thing touches the door, then go and get the 1UP
by destroying blocks G and also the block covering the 1UP at 1. Run
quickly back and through the door before the spiky thing returns from where the
A blocks were.
Break the bomb block, kill the bear, and go through the door.
Go right and kill the Rockys. Keep going right until you reach a slope. There
are several of these slopes after this. Heres a tip: If youre going down,
attack enemies with the slide kick attack (Down+B). If youre going up, use
Rising Break (Up+Y). Go down the first slope. Kill the Gim but ignore the bomb
block. Keep going down slopes until you see a gap in the ceiling somewhere. Fly
into it. Kill the Waddle Dee, break the bomb block, and go in the door. Stand
right next to the bomb block (on the left side) and use Vulcan Jab, then
IMMEDIATELY drop down to get the 1UP before it falls. Then fly around and get
the food. Exit through the door. Go back to the slopes (break the bomb block,
kill the Waddle Dee, drop down). Continue going down until you come to a bomb
block. Break it. Youll land on a platform. Fly right, avoiding the lava on the
floor and ceiling. Go through the door.
Now youre in an icy room. How?! You just came from a fiery room! ??? Anyway,
go right, killing two snowmen. When you see a bomb block, destroy it and get
the food below. Kill the Poppy Bros. Jr. and break through the star blocks
(theres nothing in them). Go down the ladder. Jump on the little sled thing
(?). Itll shoot you forward. Youll land on a Rocky and kill it. Go left and
down the ladder. Ride two more sleds. When you ride the third sled, youll
crash into a bomb block, but it wont hurt you. Climb up the ladder (avoiding
bullets from the artillery guns) and jump on the Warp Star.
Kill the Knuckle Joe, then go right and kill the Waddle Doo. Continue right to
face the boss.
Boss: Bugzzy
Thats his official (lame) name. Hes not excessively hard. Use Smash
Punch a lot, and dont use your shield. It doesnt work. If he launches
some flying bugs at you, kill them with Smash Punch. If he starts
flashing and kinda squishing up, jump, because hes about to dash at you.
He may also jump around a lot. This is a good chance to Smash Punch him
because he wont attack you (unless he lands on you). His best move is
when he hovers in the air. Hes trying to get above you and land on you.
But he can only hover for a short while, so just stay away from him until
he lands. If you inhale him when he dies, youll become Suplex Kirby, but
dont, because Suplex Kirby is not very good for this level.
Suplex Kirby is probably one of the coolest Kirbys. He doesnt have the variety
of moves that Fighter Kirby does, but hes very fast at beating enemies. Push Y
to dash forward and grab an enemy. Then push Up, Down, Left, Right, Y, or B to
destroy them. You can also push Down+Y in the air to do a Pinpoint Kick. Also,
if you grab someone in the air, you can repeatedly kick them until they die. In
Milky Way Wishes (where you can switch abilities without inhaling enemies),
well be using him to get through the easier parts of levels. Anyway, since
youre not Suplex Kirby quite yet, go right, kill the enemies, and go through
the door. Do the goal thing.
,-------------.
---| 7.4 Level 4 |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
First, go to the secret place we unlocked. Get the Hammer ability object and
exit.
Select Level 4.
Go right, kill the Burnin Leo, and destroy the star blocks under the artillery
guns so they cant hurt you. Continue right, killing a bird and another Burnin
Leo. If you need food, drop through the platforms. Continue right until you
reach a waterfall with five sandwiches in it (!). There are two ways you can do
the next part; the fun way, which gets you a 1UP, and the not as fun but more
profitable way, which gets you 3 1UPs. Choose either one ... they both lead to
the same place anyway. The fun factor is just my opinion (obviously). Emulator
Hint: If you want, create a save state right by the waterfall so you can try
both ways.
Now that youve finished the way you chose, youve ended up in this room. Go
right, killing enemies, until you reach a wall. Fly up to a platform. Kill the
Birdon and the Evil Cat, then fly up to another platform. Kill the flower and
another Evil Cat, then go left. Ignore the bomb block. Go up, killing another
Birdon and yet another Evil Cat. Go up and right. When you see a bomb block
next to a fish, destroy it. Go through the door to the right.
Hammer Kirby has a special way of discarding his abilities: run+A. Use it now.
Inhale the Burnin Leo to become Fire Kirby. Read ... his ... section ... zzz
... A cool thing about Fire Kirby is this. Hold Y to blow fire breath. Now push
the D-Pad in the direction away from Kirby, and his fireballs will go farther!
Push the D-Pad towards Kirby, and his fireballs will come closer and closer to
Kirby, and finally set Kirby on fire! It doesnt hurt you though. You can also
direct it up and down. Anyway, set fire to the rope sticking out of the ground
to your left, then run to the cannon and jump in. Youll be flung into a room
with a 1UP, a bunch of food, and 2 Maxim Tomatoes. Whats the point of the food
if theres 2 Maxim Tomatoes right there? Besides, whats the point of 2 Maxim
Tomatoes?? Anyway, walk through the door once you get the stuff. FYI, this
takes you to the same place you would have gone if you walked through the door
to the right of the cannon.
DONT TOUCH THE BOMB BLOCK! Go left and through the door in midair. Ooo,
another button! Push it, and another secret area appears! Get the Copy ability
object. This is almost completely pointless. It allows you to copy people
instantly with Y instead of swallowing them. And once youve gotten their
ability, you have to inhale people again. Anyway, go back out the door. Go
right and copy the Blade Knight with Y. It shouldnt be too hard. Now youre
Sword Kirby. Yada yada. Now you have a decision to make. Either you can destroy
that bomb block to your left, or not. If you do, much of the level will turn
into lava. If not, it wont. If youre confident of your flying skills, destroy
the bomb block, because that way those annoying TACs will die. If youre not so
sure, dont destroy it, but watch out for TACs that try to steal your ability
objects. Make your way upwards, going left and right when you have to, and
killing any and all TACs that you see (I HATE TACs!), until you come to another
bomb block. Stand directly to the right of it and destroy it. Wait until all
the lava appears, then fly to the right to claim the 1UP you saw before. Now go
left and through the door.
You will see two parasols floating away. Why!? Work your way up, killing
singers and Evil Cats. Go in the door to face the miniboss. Wait a sec ... you
hear the boss music, but you only see a Maxim Tomato and a Rocky. Is the Rocky
the miniboss?! Beat him. Guess not! Go right a little farther to meet the
actual miniboss(es):
Miniboss: Bonkers
Youve seen Bonkers before, too. Again, same but has more HP. Use Chop or
Aerial Chop.
Continue right some more, then get the ... um ... cooked bird ... and face:
,----------------.
---| 7.5 Dyna Blade |----------------------------------------------------------
`----------------
Now its time to face the final boss: Dyna Blade. On the main map, go to the
mountain where a bird is circling. Select it.
In this room there are four ability pedestals and a Warp Star. Its obvious
what this is for, isnt it? Id choose the Blade ability, though the Beam
ability is also good. Ill go with Sword Kirby. Now heres something
surprising, coming from me - I recommend using a helper. Though the AI is
pathetic, you can sometimes use it as a decoy: the chances of Dyna Blade going
for you or your helper are 50/50. So create a Sword Helper, then get the Blade
ability again. Jump on the Warp Star to meet the final boss.
Once Dyna Blade is dead, youll see the ending scene: Kirby walks over to where
Dyna Blades chicks are squawking. He grimaces and shudders, then pushes the
nest to a nearby Whispy Woods. He jumps into the tree and shakes down some
apples for them to eat. Then you see a scene where hes trying to teach them to
fly. The first two seem fine, but the third one crashes. :) Then, you see Dyna
Blade (I thought it was dead?) flying away with its chicks. When the camera
zooms out, you see Kirby watching them. Get this: hes WAVING at them! WHY?? He
just knocked out Dyna Blade and grimaced at the chicks, and now hes WAVING at
them!? Anyway, the picture fades to sepia and it says To be continued ....
Its not continued - at least in Kirby Superstar, anyway. THE END!

| 8. The Great Cave Offensive Walkthrough |
`-----------------------------------------
===========================================
NOTE: It is VERY helpful if you have another person control your helper,
because well need helpers a LOT in this game. I wish it had the Deluxe Copy
feature ... but it doesnt, so PLEASE use a second controller. It will make
this a LOT easier. In fact, it makes this _possible_! Thank you.
NOTE: This game is a LOT longer than the parts of Kirby Superstar before it.
Beware!
SPECIAL CONTROLS: Press X to access the treasure menu (see your treasures) and
press Start to see info on Kirbys current form.

---| 8.1 Getting Through With All The Treasures |------------------------------
`--------------------------------------------
This walkthrough will get you through The Great Cave Offensive, and will get
you all the sixty treasures. Plus, it does all this as fast as possible (not
very, Im afraid).
Inhale the Knuckle Joe. Go over the wall. Youll see a treasure chest on the
ground. Open it by pushing Up on the D-Pad, and get the -=1=- Gold Medal
(10,000 G). Go right. Youll see two flowers with a pillar between them. Kill
the flowers, then break the top half of the pillar by attacking it. Go in the
door that appeared. Swim to the treasure chest and open it to get the -=2=-
Gold Coin (1,000 G). Go back out the door. Use Rising Break to get out of this
scary situation (surrounded by enemies), then continue right until you see
three bomb blocks in a row. Destroy the left and right ones, but NOT THE MIDDLE
ONE! If you destroy the middle one, lava will appear in a bad place and you
wont be able to get the next treasure. Once you have destroyed the two outer
bomb blocks, a hole will appear on the right. Kill the Knuckle Joe to the right
of it (just in case it falls on your head while youre down there), and drop
down into the hole. Go left and hit the bomb block. Open the treasure chest and
claim the -=3=- Whip (6,800 G). Go right, up, and through the door.
Kill the Birdon with Rising Break, then go right, killing another Birdon. Climb
down the ladder. Kill the Evil Cats if they go one-eyed on you. Now do this
part QUICKLY! Hit the switch, run left under the wall, drop down, use Vulcan
Jab on the left button, then the right, then fly up quickly, go left under the
two walls, land under the ladder, use Vulcan Jab on the switch, quickly climb
the ladder, run over the switch and go right under the two walls. Whew! Now,
open the treasure chest to get a treasure worth all that trouble: the -=4=-
Crystal Ball (200,000 G)! Now jump under the bomb block to break it. Go down
the ladder again, but this time go right. Kill the Birdon, then drop down into
the water. Kill the octopi, going down, right, then up. Destroy the star
blocks, get the food, and open the treasure chest for the very cheap -=5=-
Lucky Cat (500 G). Now go back into the water, on the right side this time.
Kill the octopi and go through the door. Ignore the bomb block; it opens up a
path back to the ladder with the Evil Cats. So just go in the door.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT STEP ON THOSE BLOCKS ABOVE THE LAVA! Fly right. Go up.
Kill the enemies. Go left. Destroy the statue. Go back to where the lava was.
Now do you see why I didnt want you to step on those blocks? :) Fly to the
treasure chest and try to open it without landing. Once you have the very
costly -=6=- Seiryu Sword (142,000 G), fly back right. Dont worry if the
treasure chest fell - you already have the treasure. Go right and over the
cliff. This part is kinda tricky. Fall through the platform and do a Down Kick
(make sure its not a Double Kick) to destroy the bomb block. If you miss, try
again. Go right at the bottom of the pit to get the -=7=- Screw Ball (80,000
G). No, unfortunately, Kirby cant use the Screw Ball. :) Now, fly upwards.
When you see a stone thing sticking out of the ceiling, attack it by exhaling.
Or you could use Rising Break Jump from the ground ... never mind. Fly into the
gap up there, and Smash Punch all the blocks on the right, including the ones
on the ceiling. A treasure chest should be in one of them. Open it to find the
-=8=- Echigo Candy (8,000 G). Then use Down Kick on the block below you, drop
down, and enter the sparkly door. This is a Saving Cabin, where you can get a
Maxim Tomato and save your game. Do this, and exit. Drop down and kill the
bear. Go right, destroy the star blocks with Down Kick, and destroy the pillar
below. Come back out, and go right to destroy some more stone blocks with Down
Kick. Go down, get the 1UP, and come back out. Continue right and destroy the
stone thing in the wall. Then go all the way back left to where the bear was.
Kill it, and drop down through the platforms. Swim right. Get the flan if you
want. Continue right. When you reach the platforms, go up and get the -=9=-
Zebra Mask (278,000 G). Luckily, _this_ Zebra Mask wont hurt you, if you know
what I mean. :) Go back down to where the bomb block is and destroy it. Now
this part is hard. If you dont want to get hurt by a bee, youll have to climb
the shaft with Rising Break Jump (repeatedly use Rising Break to go higher and
higher while attacking). This is a VERY useful maneuver, but also somewhat hard
to master. If you cant do it, just fly up and get hurt by the bee. Once you
get to the top, either way, go through the door.
Miniboss: Bonkers
Same as before, but now he can throw three bombs. Also has more HP. An
extremely easy but extremely cheap way to beat him is to run forward and
break the middle cement block with Down Kick before he materializes
fully. Then hell just fall down and die! If you dont manage to do this,
fight him as usual. Smash Punch a lot and shield against his bombs. Run
when he tries to hammer you. Simple.
Continue right. Go up the ladder. Now there are two ladders to choose from.
Take the left one. Kill the enemies and get in the Heros Engine. Launch
straight up. Get the food and open the treasure chest to get the -=10=- Star
Stone (82,100 G). Go back to where the other ladder is. Go up it, then all the
way down the next one. Kill the enemies and free the spiky invincible things by
breaking the star block. Once theyre gone, go inside where they were and get
the -=11=- Beasts Fang (7,300 G). Go back to the ladder. Go up halfway, then
get off. Kill the enemies, going right. Make your way up until you reach the
top. Go left, killing the mask, and get the food. Then go back right. Discard
your abilities and inhale the Sir Kibble, then go through the door.
Go right, killing enemies, until you reach a cliff. You may have noticed that
there are some platforms hanging from strings. You can use Cutter Kirby to cut
the strings. This can sometimes lead to good things. For instance, the first
such platform had food under it. Cross the two hanging platforms and watch out
for the TAC. At the end of the platform the TAC was on, youll be able to see a
bomb block. Destroy it with Cutter Boomerang. Jump up and continue right,
killing a Simirror. Watch a TAC fall to its doom! Fly down and left and destroy
another bomb block (again, watch out for the TAC!). Land on the platform below.
Youll see a treasure chest above you. Fly left and destroy the last bomb
block. Go back and claim your prize: the -=12=- Bandanna (1,990 G). Fly back up
to the top where the Simirror was. Then fly right, to the next platform. Kill
the Simirror and the TAC (if any), then cut the rope above the platform. Drop
down and go right. A UFO will start hovering around your head. Dont worry; it
wont attack you and it will go away soon. Open the treasure chest to get
-=13=- Springtime (250,000 G). Ooo, very expensive! What is it, though? Go back
up to the surface. Continue right, killing enemies, and go through the door.
Get the Blade ability object and go through the door to face the miniboss.
Finally! The music changed! Not that it was bad, it just got boring. Oh, wait
... this musics worse than before! Oh, well. OK, this parts supremely easy.
Just hop on the mine cart and hold down right on the D-Pad to get it moving.
Then watch as it crushes a huge array of enemies. Mine cart power! :) Wait
until it crashes at the end, then go down and through the door. Simple!
Hey, the music changed yet again! Now we have the Kirby theme. Anyway, drop
down into the water. Go down until you see a door. Go even farther down. Youll
see a treasure chest! Go down and open it to find a fabulous treasure! Oh, wait
its a -=14=- Dime (10 G). Darn it! But hey, why are all these breakable blocks
here? Maybe theyre hiding something ... Mow your way down until you find
another treasure chest. Open it ... yesss! Its the -=15=- Glass Slippers
(120,000 G)! This makes up for the Dime, huh? Plus, theres a 1UP! Now go back
up and through the door.
Drop down and go in the sparkly door. Its another Saving Cabin. Save and
recover there (if you need to). Then go down again. Youll notice three
different doors. This is an important room, so Ill refer to it as the room
with the three doors, as in Now youre back in the room with the three
doors, or ... um ... well, actually, thats about it. Anyway, go in the left
door first (well come back to the others later).
Watch the bomber destroy itself! Then, discard your abilities. Fly down until
you find another bomber, and inhale it. Youre Bomb Kirby now. You probably saw
a switch up and to the left of where you are now, earlier. Go press it. This
will cause the area to become flooded in some places. Now a treasure chest on
the left is accessible. Open it to find the -=16=- Goblet (800 G). Then fly
back up to near where the switch was. There should be a bomb block on the other
side of a wall. You cant reach it, but Bomb Kirbys bombs can. Walk right up
against the wall and throw a bomb. The bomb block should explode. Now that the
passage is open, go left and face the miniboss.
Once you defeat Poppy Bros., a treasure chest will drop down. Open it to get
the -=22=- Nunchuks (55,480 G). Wait a sec ... 22? Wasnt the last treasure
#16? Yes it was! The reason Im numbering the Nunchuks #22 is because thats
what its number is in the treasure menu (X). Apparently, the developers at
Halken wanted me to go through a closed door that was locked on the inside to
get the treasures in the right order. But thats impossible! (UPDATE, 2 years
later: Actually, you could inhale the Crash Bomb nearby and use the Crash
ability to hit the switch... or if you time it right, you can use Fighter
Kirbys Smash Punch. But you dont have Fighter Kirby and this way works fine
so whatever. :) ) So I took the easy way: stop at #16, skip to #22, then count
down to #17, then resume with #23. So the next treasure will be #21. Also...
shouldnt it be Nunchaku? o_O Anyway, go left and kill the walking bomb, then
drop down the shaft. Kill the bombers, then destroy the bomb block on the
right. Walk through the new passage, and fly into the door.
Now youre in a room thats in the level accessible from the right-hand door in
the door with three rooms (hey, I did find another example!). Open the treasure
chest on the right to get the -=21=- Beast Fossil (24,220 G). Then, open the
treasure chest on the left to get the -=20=- Fish Fossil (8,250 G). Why is the
Beast Fossil almost three times more valuable than the Fish Fossil? Anyway, go
back through the door.
Go back left, destroy the bomb block, kill the bomber, and jump down to the
next platform. Theres a treasure chest out in full view. Open it to get the
-=19=- Amber Rose (22,100 G). Then, continue down and right. You will see a
treasure chest in a small hole in the floor. Open it to find the -=18=- Brass
Knuckle (20,000 G). Now, hit the switch, run through the door, and kill the
walking bomb. That was the closed door I was talking about. If you sympathize
with the Halken developers and know of how to follow the official method of
getting treasures, PLEASE email me! I must know! (UPDATE, 2 years later: Wow I
feel stupid youre supposed to inhale the walking bomb and use Crash Kirbys
special to hit the switch. Anyway, my way is better, IMHO, because you dont
have to get a useless one-time Kirby form like Crash Kirby.) (UPDATE, 2 years
later, again: Hmm, I have discovered that Fighter Kirbys Smash Punch, if done
in the air while falling directly to the right of the door, and if timed
correctly, will hit the switch as well! So if you have Fighter Kirby thats
another option.) Anyway, go into the water. Look on the bottom of the screen.
There should be a gap in the floor. Position yourself right above this gap, and
squirt water to the left (left+Y). A whole bunch of octopi and a treasure chest
will fall into the water. Predictably, the treasure chest falls in right above
the gap. Open it before it is destroyed by pushing up on the D-Pad as it passes
you. If you miss it, theres no second chance. Geez! All that work, just for
the -=17=- Saucepan (10 G). Okay! Now weve closed the gap in treasure numbers.
Now for #23! Fly all the way back up to the door that you came in from. Enter
it.
Now youre back in the room with three doors. Before you do anything, save (and
recover if necessary) in the Saving Cabin. Now discard your abilities and go
into the middle door.
Swim upwards, killing the octopi. When you get out of the water, inhale the
Gim. Now youre Yo-Yo Kirby! You know what to do ... :) Before you do anything,
try this unique Yo-Yo Kirby move: Down, Up, Y. If you do it right, youll do an
upwards attack. Cool, huh? Now go right, killing the Capsule J and the Sir
Kibble. Drop into the water and follow the path until you come to an
intersection. If you want some food, take the down-left path. Get the food and
come back to the intersection. Now, go up-right (where the star block is).
Break the star block, then swim upwards fast. Persist until you surface. Open
the treasure chest to get Marios -=23=- Bucket (200 G). Drop back down. Go
right, killing octopi. Dont touch the bomb block. Go up and out of the water.
Destroy the bomb block on the left and get the Maxim Tomato. Then go right and
kill the Sir Kibble, Gim, and Capsule J. Drop down in the exact middle of the
platform. Now youre at an intersection. If you need HP, take the right-hand
platform, get the Maxim Tomato, and come back. If not, go straight to the
left-hand platform. After it reaches the other side, fall off and drop through
the platform. Take the next moving platform, and do the same thing. Now youre
at another intersection. First, jump on the left platform. Break the blocks as
you go, but be careful not to fall off the platform. Also notice that the upper
row of blocks is covering some spikes, so try not to break those top ones. At
the other side is a treasure chest, containing -=24=- Summertime (250,000 G).
What the heck is it? o_O Get back on the platform and go back to the
intersection. This time, take the right-hand platform. Drop down into the water
at the end. The current will sweep you towards two spiky invincible things.
Avoid them as best you can. Continue left. You will see another spiky
invincible thing above you, but since its not in your way, ignore it. Theres
a bomb block above it. Its the same one I said not to break earlier. You still
shouldnt break it. In fact, you shouldnt even go near it, because the current
will trap you there. Anyway, continue left, through some zigzags. Soon youll
see a treasure chest. Open it as you float by. It contains the -=25=- 100
Dollar Coin (10,000 G). Go up and youll find that youre where you started. If
you missed the 100 Dollar Coin (or any other treasure here), you can go back
through this room from here. Anyway, go through the door once youre done.
Now youre back in the room with the three doors. Again, save and recover if
necessary. Then, go into the right-hand door.
Go right and kill the Poppy Bros. Jr. Then fly up, avoiding the TAC. Stand to
the right of the switch and hit it. Then, fly left, avoiding the spikes. Open
the treasure chest to find the -=26=- Ancient Gem (68,000 G). Fly back past the
spikes. Drop down again, but this time, go right and down the ladder. Kill the
TAC and go right. Destroy the blocks to find a treasure chest with the -=27=-
Falcon Helmet (41,000 G). Geez, how are all these things from other games
popping up? Go left and back up the ladder, then right all the way to get some
food. Go left and up the ladder. Kill the TAC and go right, killing more
enemies. When you see another ladder, drop down and climb down it. Kill the TAC
and go right. When you see a bomb, use Yo-Yo Kirbys Down Throw Attack to
destroy it. Go open the treasure chest to get the -=28=- Dud (30 G). If you
need food, go left and get it. Go back out, watching out for TACs, and go
right. Go up the ladder, kill the TAC, go right, then down. Get the Maxim
Tomato. This part is very tricky. OK, go down to the floor. Now start flying.
Fly over the spiky invincible thing, but hold right because theres a strong
wind blowing you left. Now run right. Fly over the spikes, then run under the
spiky invincible thing. Fly over the spikes, then drop down a good distance
from the last spiky invincible thing; the wind stops after those last set of
spikes, so if you kept holding right as if you were flying against the wind,
youd crash into the spiky invincible thing. Now walk up to the treasure chest
and get the most valuable treasure yet: the -=29=- Truth Mirror (500,000 G). It
was worth it, huh? Now break the bomb block and fly up. Go left and through the
door.
Dont touch the ability pedestals - Yo-Yo Kirby is better for the miniboss than
any of the others. Go through the next door.
Aaarrrggghhh! That weird circus music again! Anyway, jump on the mine cart and
roll on the track. Go in the door.
Yay! Back to the original music. Youll fall from a TREMENDOUS height. Youll
fall past a castle and land in front of it. Ouch! But Kirbys flexible. Go
right. Theres a Saving Cabin there. Go back to where you fell and enter.
Go right, getting flans and killing sweepers. Why are there so many flans
floating in midair? And where does the plate go when you eat them?? Anyway, go
right until you see a thin platform above you (the kind you can go through).
Jump up to it. Go left, destroying star blocks under artillery guns. Do this
twice, then jump on a spring to get to a door. Go through it.
S S S S S
S X T X A
S S B S S
S = Star Block
A = Star Block, Step A
B = Star Block, Step B
T = Treasure Chest
X = Spiky Invincible Thing
First, fly to the right and break A (ONLY A!) by exhaling. Then run back
left QUICKLY! The two spiky invincible things will come out and bounce around
in the lower right hand corner. They cant come near you because the star block
under where A was stops them. Wait until they settle down (they might bounce
back where they were a couple of times before settling down). Then, jump under
B. T will drop down. Open it to get a VERY valuable item: the -=30=- Star
Tiara (408,200 G). Go back out the door.
Drop down and go left until you see a Bio Spark. Kill it and jump on the spring
to the left of it to get a 1UP. Come back down and kill the Bio Spark (it
reappeared). Drop down through the platform nearby. Ignore the door on the
left. Go right, killing sweepers and eating flans, past the entrance you
originally came through, and finally into a door.
Make your way up, killing Sir Kibbles, Waddle Dees, and Waddle Doos. Go in the
door at the top.
Go right, shielding against the bombs, and killing enemies, until you reach a
bomb block. Ignore it. Go through the door. Go right. A miniboss will start to
appear.
Miniboss: Bonkers
You know how to beat him. Only problem is, theres a bomb block on the
floor, and you MUST NOT LET IT BE DESTROYED! So stand on the bomb block,
facing right, and use Yo-Yo Throw a lot. Then, once youve beaten him,
inhale Bonkers.
Now that youre Hammer Kirby , go back left, through the door, right, past the
bombs and enemies, through the door, down the ladders, past the enemies,
through the door, all the way to the left, and through the door I told you to
ignore before.
Whack the stake. Go through the door. Go down the two elevators. Go through the
door.
Discard your abilities. Inhale one of the Burnin Leos and kill the other. Now
youre Fire Kirby again! Then go through the upper door.
Open the treasure chest that dropped to find the -=31=- Turtle Shell (800 G).
Looks more like a Koopa shell to me ... Go right and through the door.
Whoo, boy, this one took me FOREVER to figure out! First, create a helper (!).
Its necessary. Then, go right and destroy the bomb block. Jump into the water.
Youre Burnin Leo friend should follow you. Theres a fuse in the water. I had
no clue of how to light it (its underwater!), until I noticed that if I had a
Bonkers helper, it would keep attacking the fuse. Thats when I realized that
all helpers can use their specials underwater! So I went back and got the Fire
ability. You should already have a Burnin Leo helper. The Burnin Leo will try
to attack the fuse. As soon as it lights, swim right, go out of the water, and
hop in the cannon. Youll be blown into the chamber to the right of the water!
Yesss! Open the treasure chest to find the -=32=- Sword (325,000 G)! That was
worth it. Now drop down and get the Maxim Tomato, then head left. Destroy the
bomb block, and continue left to find a 1UP. Go right to where the bomb block
was and fly up. Then go through the lower door.
Tricky part. Jump into the water. Go down. As the water sweeps you left, try to
drop out of the water right above the treasure chest. If you miss, youll fall
and die, unless you manage to fly back to the treasure chest. Plus, when youre
flying around, you have to avoid spiky invincible things. Yeesh! Once you reach
the treasure chest, open it to find the -=33=- Warrior Shield (50,000 G). What
a ripoff! Anyway, continue left and through the door.
Now youre back in the room with the three doors! Just kidding. Youre back
where the two Burnin Leos were. Go back through the door on the left. Or, if
you missed the Turtle Shell, the Sword, or the Warrior Shield (or two of them
or all three), go back through the upper door and skip back six paragraphs.
Go back up the two elevators and through the door.
Make your way up the ladders, killing enemies. Then go through the door.
Go all the way left, shielding against bombs and killing enemies. When you see
the Sir Kibble, discard your abilities and inhale it. Now youre Cutter Kirby
again. Why do you need Cutter Kirby? Itll be a LONG time before well need
him, but there arent going to be any Sir Kibbles from now until then. I added
this part in when I got there. This time, destroy the bomb block. Drop down and
shield against bullets from the artillery gun. Go right and drop down. Shield
against another artillery gun. Go right and drop down again, do the same thing.
Jump up and open the treasure chest to find the -=34=- Unicorns Horn (80,300
G). Go back past the artillery guns and go through the door.
Miniboss: Bonkers
Same as the last time you came this way. Unfortunately, you have to beat
him every time you come through this room. As before, stand squarely on
the bomb block, and defend it! Use Cutter Boomerang (or Nonstop Cutter
Attack) until he dies.
Walk right and step on the switch. Go back left to see a treasure chest drop
onto the bomb block. Thats why I said it shouldnt be destroyed! Open it to
find -=35=- Autumntime (250,000 G). Go right and through the door.
Walk right to face the miniboss. In case you havent noticed, theres only one
level in The Great Cave Offensive, so obviously all enemies with an HP meter
are minibosses. Besides, after you get through the cave, youll come up through
the cement blocks you may have noticed in the very first room. That way, you
can start over, so there really is no final boss (or any boss at all) in this
game. Anyway, face the miniboss.
Miniboss: Robot Trident Guy Clone, Zombie Axeman Clone x2, Robot Mace Guy Clone
Same as before. First, youll face the Trident Guy and an Axeman. Beat
the Axeman first. Now the Mace Guy will appear. Kill the Trident Guy, go
after the Mace Guy as the final Axeman appears. Kill it too.! If the
Trident Guy rushes you, jump. He may also throw the trident at you. Avoid
it. The Axemen will either chop at you with their axe, or throw it like a
discus. The Mace Guy just swings around his mace and throws it at you. In
between avoiding them, attack them.
Go right. Kill the Waddle Dee, then create a Sir Kibble helper. Inhale the Gim
to become Yo-Yo Kirby again. Go right. Kill another Waddle Dee and another Gim,
and a crocodile. Stand on top of the bomb block and use Down Throw. Drop down,
get the food, and hop on the sled. Itll zip through the spikes, but,
miraculously, youll be unharmed! Youll hit a bomb block, which facilitates
(if not _enables_) your exit :). Open the treasure chest to get the -=36=- Rice
Bowl (50 G). Go back up and back left. Go back through the door.
Miniboss: Bonkers
Same as the last time you came this way. As before, stand squarely on the
bomb block, and defend it! (Actually by now you should have already
gotten the treasure for which the bomb block needs to be intact, so you
dont really need to defend it this time. Force of habit though. :) ) Use
Yo-Yo Throw until he dies. Then discard your Yo-Yo ability (make sure
your Sir Kibble helper doesnt touch it!) and inhale Bonkers.
Kill it too. Simple! If
the Trident Guy rushes you, jump. He may also throw the trident at you.
Avoid it. The Axemen will either chop at you with their axe, or throw it
like a discus. The Mace Guy just swings around his mace and throws it at
you. In between avoiding them, attack them. Luckily, Sir Kibble is one of
the smartest helpers in the game, so this shouldnt be too hard.
Now go right through the door. Remember: from here on, DONT LET THE SIR KIBBLE
DIE! ALSO, DONT LOSE YOUR HAMMER ABILITY! DONT! UPDATE: Actually, looks like
it doesnt matter as much... read on ahead to see Matthwizs alternative method
of gaining treasure #43, which is what this walkthrough is going to be using
Sir Kibble and Hammer Kirby for.
From now on, I HIGHLY recommend making your Sir Kibble helper 2P. That way,
hopefully, it wont get hurt by the fires as much. :). If you dont have
another person to help you, at least use a second controller. How? Whenever
youre on terra firma (firm ground, meaning NOT dark brown), push A on the
second controller to make Sir Kibble warp to you. In this way, you can make
sure he doesnt get hurt. However, if you get to far from him, hell warp to
you wherever you are, so make sure that hes always on the screen. Anyway, make
your way left. If the floor looks a darker shade of brown, it means that it
will break if you walk on it. Usually, these are above fires, so watch out.
Continue left until you see a bomb block. Destroy it. Drop down and go right.
Open the treasure chest. It contains -=37=- Tuts Mask (160,000 G). Continue
right and break the bomb block. Drop down, go right, get the Maxim Tomato, go
up, and go back left, this time past where the bomb block was. You may notice a
door high in the air. This will take you out of the castle and drop you in
front of the main door. Go into the door, drop down, go right, and save and
recover in the Saving Cabin. Then go back left and fly into the door. Youre
back in the room with the fire and breakable blocks. Go left, avoiding the
fires. Go through the door.
Go right, jump on the platform, go left, jump on the platform, go all the way
right and through the door.
This part, I hate! However, the Sir Kibble makes it easier on the way back.
Make a mistake, and you lose your ability! You have to navigate through a bunch
of ability pedestals, against a strong wind. They all contain the Sleep
ability, which makes you fall asleep, then wake up to find that you have no
ability. You can also get this by inhaling a sleeper. But here, you shouldnt
get it (obviously). Make your way right, jumping over and under the pedestals,
until you get to the treasure chest. Its -=38=- Mr. Saturn (120,000 G)! Now
you have to go back left. Warp the Sir Kibble to you. Then, just wait until the
wind blows you almost all the way back. But how?? How can you avoid the sleeper
abilities?? Well, since as soon as you get the Sleep ability, you lose it,
theres no such thing as a sleeper helper. Therefore, when Sir Kibble touches a
pedestal, he takes the sleeper ability but remains Sir Kibble! Meanwhile, as
you follow him, you slide past an empty pedestal because it takes a while for
it to regenerate! Easy. (2 years later update: Now that I think about it, you
could really just use the 2P controller to make Sir Kibble walk in front of you
on the way forward too... doh! :) However, its a bit tricky because the wind
doesnt affect Sir Kibble, so he walks faster than you, so you need to wait
sometimes and let Kirby catch up. It might in fact be easier not to use the Sir
Kibble trick at all in this case...) Now jump back through the door.
If by any chance you lost your Hammer ability, dont worry. You dont have to
go all the way back and beat all those minibosses AGAIN. Now, you can just go
back to the previous room and go through the door that leads to the outside of
the castle! Drop down, save, recover, go through the main door, go all the way
right, go in the door, go left, go in the door, beat Bonkers, get his ability,
go left, go out the door, go back right, go through the door, go left, out the
main door, fly up, go through the door in midair, go left, and now youre back
in the room with the three doors! Er ... I mean, the platforms that go up and
down. :). Come back up to where the door leading to the wind/sleeper room was,
then jump on the platform near that door. Go left or right (it doesnt matter
which), then jump on the platform. Kill the Evil Cat and drop down to the star
blocks. Destroy them, then jump on the platform. Now youll be under a large
number of non-moving platforms leading up. Kill the bomber on the right and the
singer on the left. Jump up on the platforms until they split in a cross shape.
Kill the Rocky before it lands on you! Fly left to get the -=39=- Armor
(212,000 G). Fly right to get a donut! Go up and in the door.
Go right and jump on the spring. Go left, get the food, then fly up. Jump on
the right spring to get a Maxim Tomato, jump on the left spring to get to a
treasure chest containing the -=40=- Treasure Box (100,000 G). Huh? A treasure
box inside a treasure chest? Thats stupid. Anyway, drop back down and go back
out the door.
Keep going up on the platforms, then left when you reach the top. Enter the
door, and be ready for some quick action.
IMMEDIATELY jump left and get the treasure chest. It contains the -=41=-
Mannequin (3,000 G). Then IMMEDIATELY jump back through the door. Why so fast,
you ask? Because the screens moving to the right so fast! Anyway, now that
youre out the door ...
Go right across to the other side of the top of the room. Go in the door.
Luckily, here, the screen doesnt move. Whew! Kill the Simirror. Continue up
through the ladders. Then, go right. Ignore the door. Now were getting close
to where we actually need the Sir Kibble! Break the wall with Hammer Nail. Go
right. Ignore the Evil Cats; they wont attack you. Drop into the water on the
right side. Break the blocks with your Hammer ability (Aha!). Then go down. Go
right. Go up and out of the water. Go through the door.
This is a little tricky. Run right as fast as you can, avoiding bees in the air
and jumping over bees on the ground. Try to keep your Sir Kibble with you, but
dont let it touch a bee. All of the floor is breakable by Hammer, so dont try
using Hammer Nail. Also, some of the floor is breakable just by touching it, so
run FAST! Go through the door on the right. Whew!
Unfortunately, were going to have to skip a treasure. Dont worry, well come
back to it. Fly up, killing Evil Cats. Go in the door.
FINALLY, were at the place where we need Sir Kibble and Hammer Kirby! Go up
and right. Use 2P to cut the string on the platform. Use Hammer Nail to pound
the stake. Walk through the door.
Ouch! This part is hard. Stand in the gap in the wall. Use Hammer Nail on the
Rocky. This will make it hop up to a platform. Then use Up+Y to destroy it. Get
the Mirror ability. *sniff* *sniff* ... nooooooooooo! My Hammer ability! I kept
it so long just for this? :( Anyway, watch the laser orbs timing. In between
laser shots, jump down where the Rocky was and use your Mirror Shield to kill
the thing. Then, jump up on the platforms. Jump up all the way to the treasure
chest. Open it to get ... the -=43=- Kings Cape (508,000 G)! Very nice. Drop
back down. Use Mirror Shield on the leftmost edge of the lower platform the
laser will reflect and kill the Rocky, which has reappeared. Then go to where
the Rocky was, and use the Mirror Shield to kill the Laser Orb again. Exit the
room.
From the room before you fight Chameleo Arm, make a ninja helper.
Then, go back two rooms to get stone. Go back to the room with the
underwater blocks, and use stone above them. They should break,
letting you continue. Now, you can lose stone, and get ninja back
if you want to. (you'll find stone again later) Make your way
across the bridge, and into the next room. Enter the top-right
door, and get stone again. Afterwards, go through the top door to
find the room with the post and rope platform. Use ninja on the
rope, and stone on the post, and you're in!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Yay! Now we dont need Sir Kibble anymore! If you want, you can kill it, but
Id keep it, just for sentimental value. Whatever. Go right, destroy the bomb,
go through the door.
Drop down, killing the Evil Cat, the bear, and the Waddle Dee. Go left. Drop
down into the hole in the ground, and go through that cave-like opening at the
bottom.
Youll fall from what looks like a window in the castle. Unfortunately, you
cant get back through it. Anyway, drop down, then go right into the Saving
Cabin. Save and heal if necessary. Go out. Go left to the main door, then fly
up and enter the midair door.
Go left and through the door. If Sir Kibble isnt dead already, do the warping
to safety thing.
You remember this room. Make your way up to the very top (inhaling a Rocky
along the way and becoming Stone Kirby), then go in the right-hand door.
Now youre in the room with the three doors! This is getting old. Actually,
youre in the room with a whole bunch of Simirrors. Go up to the top, break the
wall by landing next to it, break the blocks in the water by turning into a
stone before landing in the water, go down, right, up, and through the door.
If your helpers not dead by _now_, Id be surprised! Run right, avoiding bees.
Go through the door.
This time, go up to the top where the food and the bomb block are. Get the
food. Then, land on the block to the left of the bomb block. The shockwave will
destroy the bomb block, and youll fall into the water. Sink through the
current (if you didnt notice, the waters flowing upwards really fast) and get
(strangely enough you can open treasure chests while youre in rock form :) )
the -=42=- Gold Crown (528,000 G). WHAAAAT!? Why the heck is the Gold Crown
20,000 G more expensive than the Kings Cape, which was a real pain in the neck
to get? I mean, for the Gold Crown, all you have to do is backtrack a little
and inhale the Rocky ability, then sink through water! For the Kings Cape, you
have to backtrack a HUGE amount, inhale a Bonkers AND somehow get a Sir Kibble
helper, then come ALL the way back, only to have to avoid spiky invincible
things and a laser orb! Er... sorry for ranting... Anyway, now that we have
treasure #42, and we already got #43, were going for #44! Go in the upper left
hand door.
Discard your abilities and inhale the Gim to become Yo-Yo Kirby again. Drop
down and enter the door.
Drop into the water, go down, go left, break the bomb block, go left, go up and
out of the water, break the wall on the left, go through the door.
Once youve beaten Chameleo Arm, go right, getting a Maxim Tomato, and go
through the door.
Discard your abilities and inhale the Burnin Leo. Use the Heros Engines to
get to the upper left hand door while avoiding the bees. This can be done in
the following manner: Jump in the first Heros Engine. From there, go
northwest to the next Engine, then north, then northwest, then north
again. Go in the door.
Go right and up a ladder. You will see a switch. Ignore it. It doesnt matter
if you hit it, either. Jump up to the next platform. Kill the mask and the Sir
Kibble. Now, it is time to get treasure #44. This is one of the hardest
treasures to get in the entire game! Heres how: Now that you have cleared this
platform, go to the right part of it. Stand above and slightly to the left of
the switch you ignored earlier. This involves VERY QUICK ACTION! Face left.
Drop down and hit Y just before you land. Youll do the Fire Ball Roll. Youll
hit the switch and roll left. Once the roll ends, QUICKLY fly up to the ladder
above you. Climb it. Fly up once more. Avoid the Sir Kibble. Climb the ladder.
Fly up and through the door before it closes! This all needs to be done VERY
QUICKLY! If you miss, start over from the part where you killed the mask and
the Sir Kibble. And you probably will miss it the first time. It took me at
least ten times... o_O Once youre through the door, walk right and open the
treasure chest to get the second-most valuable treasure in the game: the -=44=-
Model Ship (800,000 G)! Actually, it ties with the Sun Ring and the Triforce.
Fly down to get a Maxim Tomato if you want. Go back through the door. Make your
way up until you find a door. Enter it.
Youll fall from the top of the left tower. Move right to the gap between the
towers. Youll land in front of a door. Enter it.
Now youre back in the room with the ... must ... not ... Burnin Leo and the
Heros Engines! This time, use the Engines to get to the upper right hand door
(from the first Engine, northeast, north, northeast, north). Enter it.
Immediately use Fire Blow to the left because a Capsule J is about to rush you!
Then kill the crocodile. Climb the ladder (yes, there is a ladder on both the
left and right sides of the room. Theres a candle. You can light it if you
want, but itll go out soon. Keep going up until you see two windows (youll
see clouds through them). Theres a gap between the two windows. Right above
that gap, on the next platform, theres a door, but its so dark you cant
really see it. If you still cant find the door, its directly under the third
candle on the way up. Enter the door to get the -=45=- Sun Ring (800,000 G)!
Why is something so easy to get worth as much as the Model Ship, which was
almost impossible to get? Hmm, I guess its because that door is so hard to
see... o_O Thats the kind of thing a FAQ can really help you with. :) Anyway,
go back through the door. Continue upwards to the door at the top. Enter it.
This time, youre falling from the right tower, so lean left. Youll land on
the platform between the towers. Enter the door.
Now youre in the room with the Burnin Leo and the Heros Engines again.
Youre still Fire Kirby, right? If not, use this opportunity to inhale the
Burnin Leo. This time, use the Heros Engines to reach the top door (from the
first Engine, north, north, north). Enter it. (BTW, with weird looking
doors like this one, you need to enter it from the side, otherwise you cant
get in. Dont ask me why...)
Youll drop down in front of the main door to the castle. Yesss! Were finally
done with the main part of the castle! On to the side part of the castle.
First, go right to the Saving Cabin. Save and recover. Then, go all the way
right and enter the side door of the castle.
Jump on the mine cart and ride left. Enter the door.
Finally! A welcome change of music. As much as I like the castle music, it was
kinda getting on my nerves. :) Anyway, walk left. Youll see a switch. Hit it
and IMMEDIATELY shield, because a large number of birds (and a sweeper) just
exploded out of a hole in the wall! Wait until theyre all gone, then enter the
hole.
Theres even more birds in here! And, of course, a sweeper. Shield or attack
them until theyre all dead. Open the treasure chest to find ... -=46=-
Wintertime (250,000 G)! Go out of the hole.
Drop down. Create a Burnin Leo helper. Get the Jet ability, but dont let the
Burnin Leo touch it. Now youre Jet Kirby! '. (an apostrophe indicates an
omission :) ). Hold down Y until youre fully charged (i.e. the whirring sound
reaches a maximum pitch). Then, press B to store the power. Make sure youre on
the right side of the platform, and are facing right. Drop down and tap Y to
dash through the gap. Drop down and get the Maxim Tomato. Then, open the
treasure chest to find the most valuable treasure in the game: the -=47=-
Katana (990,000 G)! That wasnt too hard, was it? Now hover back up to where
the ability pedestals were. Get rid of your ability, then turn your Burnin Leo
helper into an ability object. Inhale it to become Fire Kirby again. Drop down
and kill the walking bomb with a Fire Ball Roll. Then drop down again and kill
the Bio Spark similarly. Then drop down again and get the soda. Walk through
the door. Whats this!? Can it be?? It is! The room with three doors!!! This
time, Im not kidding! However, its a _different_ room with three doors. Ill
call this the other room with three doors. Anyway, enter the sparkly door to
find a Saving Cabin. Save and recover if necessary. Come out again and drop
down. Enter the left door.
Go left, killing the bird, two Capsule Js, and another bird. Now you should see
some water flowing out of a hole. The hole is in a block that you can drop
through. Do so. Im sorry if that was a little confusing, but its kind of hard
to explain. OK, heres another way of saying it. Stand on top of where water is
flowing out of a hole. Push down and you will drop through the block in which
the hole with the water flowing out is. *sigh* It comes out nonsensical no
matter what way I say it! Anyway, swim down and open the treasure chest. Its
the -=48=- Charm (8,000 G). Swim back up and fly through where you dropped
through (?). Go left, avoiding or killing the Capsule J. Drop down from the
cliff. Now there are three fuses. Two (the left and right ones) have buttons to
push, but the middle one doesnt. There are three cannons to the left of the
fuses. The left fuse sets off the closest cannon, the right fuse sets off the
farthest cannon, and the middle fuse sets off the middle cannon. Set fire to
the middle fuse using Fire Blow, then run and get into the middle cannon. You
will get shot into the sky.
In this new room, destroy all the bomb blocks _except_ the bottom one. Do this
by puffing out air while flying. Walk into the shaft through the opening you
made and open the treasure chest that fell down to get the -=49=- Xmas Tree
(40,000 G). Do you realize that this is the first only-five-figure treasure
since the Unicorns Horn (#34)? Sheesh! Weve been getting a lot of expensive
treasures recently. Anyway, walk out the door.
Now, walk all the way to the left. Use Fire Blow to destroy the star blocks and
the bomb block. Do this by standing a bit to the right of the star blocks and
using Fire Blow while holding down on the D-Pad. If the third star block
doesnt break, try moving around a little bit and trying it from a slightly
different place. Once you blow up the bomb block, the fuse for the left-hand
cannon will be clear. Now, go all the way back to where the fuses were. Set
them off with Fire Blow, then go jump in the left-hand cannon. (The right-hand
cannon doesnt take you anywhere, it just makes you lose your ability. Bad.)
Now youre in a cloudy area. Fly up until you see a pedestal with the Wing
ability. (Dont get it.) Hint: If you see colored stars inside clouds, it means
theres a path there. So fly through the two stars directly under the Wing
pedestal, and into the door.
In here, there are two spiky invincible things and a treasure chest, trapped
near the ceiling. Also, there are two switches. Obviously, one of the switches
releases the spiky invincible things, and the other releases the treasure
chest. But which switch is right? The one on the right, of course! (Damn,
southpaws get no respect... LOL) So hit the right-hand switch and collect the
treasure, which is -=50=- Kongs Barrel (1,500 G). Go out the door.
Fly up and through the stars on the right. Go through the door.
Jump on a platform. Make sure youre exactly in the middle. When you come to
the treasure, jump and get it. Its -=51=- Ramias Scale (12,800 G). Jump back
down onto a platform (in the middle). When you reach the door, enter it.
Fly left, through the two stars, then through four stars. Drop down. Then drop
down again, through a yellow star, and enter the door. Get the candy and the
Maxim Tomato and exit. Fly back up through the yellow star. Now fly back right
through the four stars and get the Wing ability. Fly back left through the four
stars. Drop through the purple star. Fly up through the three stars and enter
the door.
This part is hard! Flutter up to where the star block is. Flutter extremely
fast, then suddenly use Feather Gun extremely fast. If youre lucky, the star
block will break. It helps if you have a turbo controller for the extremely
fast parts, but its possible without it. Open the treasure chest to find the
-=52=- Shiny Bamboo (600,000 G). Not bad! Drop down and go back through the
door.
Let your Birdon helper touch the Wheel pedestal. DONT CONTROL IT WITH 2P!!!
Now its a Wheelie. I like to call it the motorunicyle, but Ill just call it a
Wheelie. Jump on top of your Wheelie to become Wheelie Rider Kirby! Seriously,
it says that in the picture at the bottom of the screen. Go right until you see
a switch. Stand (park?) just to the left of the switch. Now push Y. Youll
start riding very fast. Youll run over the switch and continue right. When you
come to a sudden dip in the road (youll know what I mean), fall into it. At
the last second, before you crash into the far side of the dip in the road,
press B to jump. Youll jump over the gap, then come to a ramp. If you jumped
too soon, youd bounce on the far tip of the ramp and crash into the ceiling.
This would waste valuable time and you wouldnt get to the treasure before the
door closed. But if you wait enough before jumping out of the dip, youll miss
the far side of the ramp, and neatly fall between it and the ceiling! Get the
treasure (you have to get off the Wheelie first). Its the -=53=- Tire (1,100
G). What a ripoff. Besides, tires cost a lot more than approximately $11!
Whats going on? Anyway, drop down. Ride the wheelie all the way left and crash
into the bomb block. This will reveal a staircase. Climb it and exit the door.
Destroy your helper by discarding your ability object onto it to turn it into a
Birdon. Then, turn your Birdon back into its ability object. Finally, inhale
the ability object to become Wing Kirby again. Now drop down through the purple
star and the four stars. Flutter left and through two stars. Youll see a Warp
Star. Ignore it. Flutter down and beware the Sleep pedestal! Flutter right,
through some stars. Get the Parasol ability. Fly up and right. Go in the door.
Immediately go left slightly and drop down. Get the treasure chest. Its the
-=54=- Spirit Charm (78,500 G). Quickly go back left, up the shaft, and through
the door before youre trapped by falling star blocks.
Go all the way left, get the 1UP, then go all the way right and get the Maxim
Tomato. Go back left and through the door. This time, you dont have to worry
about star blocks because you arent trapped under them.
Fly back left through the stars. Avoid the Sleep pedestal. Fly all the way up.
Ignore the Warp Star. Fly up through four stars directly above the Warp Star,
then through two more stars above the four. The green star off by itself is
useless, so dont go there. Enter the door.
Use Parasol Dive to break through the blocks. Get the food, the Maxim Tomato,
and the two 1UPs. Go back through the door (theres nothing in the blocks).
Now youre back in the other room with three doors. Save in the Saving Cabin.
Enter the right-hand door.
Jump in the Heros Engine. Go right, then down (you dont need the Maxim
Tomato, youll get one soon enough), then right. Open the treasure chest to
find the -=55=- Pegasus Wing (42,800 G). Now hop in the Heros Engine again. Go
left, then left again, then down, then down-right. Enter the door.
Go down and left, killing the crocodile and the Wheelie. Get the Maxim Tomato
(see?), then drop down to face the miniboss.
Miniboss: Bugzzy
You may remember this guy from Dyna Blade. Hes the same, except he has
more HP. Heres a recap (copied from the Dyna Blade walkthrough and
modified slightly): Hes kinda hard with Parasol Kirby. Use Parasol Swing
a lot, and dont use your shield. It doesnt work. If he launches some
flying bugs at you, kill them with Parasol Swing or Parasol Shield. If he
starts flashing and kinda squishing up, jump, because hes about to dash
at you. He may also jump around a lot. This is a good chance to attack
him because he wont attack you (unless he lands on you). His best move
is when he hovers in the air. Hes trying to get above you and land on
you. But he can only hover for a short while, so just stay away from him
until he lands. Inhale him when he dies to become Suplex Kirby.
Get the treasure chest that fell. It contains the -=56=- Raccoon Doll (8,150
G). Continue left. Go down the slopes. Youre probably low on health now, so be
careful. Go in the door at the bottom.
OK. Go left and drop in the water. Sink to the bottom to get a cup of ... some
drink. How can there be a cup of liquid underwater!? Kill the octopus and
emerge from the water again. Go left. Ignore the next two bodies of water, and
drop into the third one. Go all the way down. Get the food and destroy the bomb
block. Get the food, the Maxim Tomato, and the 1UP. Kill the octopus. Swim up
and out of the water. Destroy the bomb block by exhaling while flying. Wait
until all the enemies die except the octopus and the spiky invincible thing.
Jump in the water. Kill the octopus and avoid the spiky invincible thing. Open
the treasure chest to find the -=57=- Shell Whistle (82,000 G). Then quickly
swim out of the water! Go left. Theres more food in the next body of water,
and the next. Get it if you want. Continue left. Kill the Sir Kibble. Continue
left, then drop into the water. Destroy the bomb block on the right. Wait for
the spiky invincible thing to get out of the way, then go get the 1UP. Now go
back left and jump out of the water. Create a Bugzzy helper and inhale the
walking bomb to become Crash Kirby! Theres a Maxim Tomato to the upper left of
where Crash Kirby was, if you want. Stand on solid ground, as close to the
water as possible, with the unreachable switch on the screen. Press Y to
destroy everything in view (including the switch). Quickly hop in the water and
swim under the wall that retracted. Open the treasure chest. Its the -=58=-
Orihalcon (512,000 G). What the heck is that? It looks like a gem ... (UPDATE 2
years later Ehehe, yes, I have meanwhile learned more about this. In many
games, it seems, there is mention of a legendary material named Orichalcon,
Orihalcon, Orichalcum, or something similar. Basically a very rare jewel or
metal. More than that I dont know.) Anyway, destroy the bomb block and get out
of the water. Turn your Bugzzy helper into an ability object. Inhale it to
become Suplex Kirby again. Hop on the Warp Star.
Now youre back in the room with three doors! I mean, the other room with three
doors. Fly up to the top door. Enter it.
Discard your abilities. Inhale the Bio Spark to become Ninja Kirby. Drop down
and go through the door.
The other room with three doors, again. Save and recover in the Saving Cabin.
Enter the middle door.
Go right and kill the snowman. Go back left and down the ladder. Cut the rope
on the right. Drop down. Go left. Drop down and get the 1UP. Fly back to the
entrance. Go through the door.
Yada yada. Enter the middle door again. Why did we just go out, then in again?
I wanted to restore the platforms. This time, cut the rope on the left. Drop
down. Go right. Drop down. Go right. Drop down. Open the treasure chest to get
the -=59=- Platinum Ring (40,000 G). Only one treasure to go! And I bet its
800,000 G, to bring the grand total to 9,999,990 G! :). Backtrack to where the
snowman is. Kill it, and go right. Ignore the first string you see, and then
cut the one after the Sir Kibble (the one right before the ladder). Drop down,
kill the snowman, get the Maxim Tomato, and fly back up. Continue right to a
ladder. Climb down and enter the door.
OK, here, theres a bunch of platforms you have to drop through, but you dont
want to land on the springs, because theyll send you back up. Theres also a
lot of Gims around here. Heres a diagram. The space between platforms is way
off. Ignore that, please.

Drop down through the floors, avoiding the springs by using the map, until you
get to the platform with a sleeper on it. Kill the sleeper. Now heres where
your Ninja skill comes in. Drop through the small platform in the middle of the
floor and use Stick To Wall by pushing against the wall. Rappel down the wall
by falling, then Stick To Wall-ing (I dont want to say Sticking To Wall
because Stick To Wall is a proper noun). When you see the star blocks, attack
them with Quado Shock Attack. If you miss, youll land on a spring and get
bounced all the way back up. If at first you dont succeed, try, try again.
Once you finally carve a spot into the star blocks, land there. Go down and get
the 60th and final treasure: the -=60=- Triforce (800,000 G)! Now how did I
guess the price of that? :P Anyway, jump on the spring and enter the door.
Oh ... you know what I said about there being no final boss? Er ... I kinda
forgot this one. Oh, well, its not much harder than a miniboss. Its just
_called_ a final boss. And since the game ends only when you jump on the Warp
Star, its not really that final. So go get the Ice ability and go through the
door.
Get the Maxim Tomato and ride the mine cart. Go through the door at the end.
Fly up and destroy the bomb block. Fly up some more. Do you recognize this?
This is the first room that you started in when you started The Great Cave
Offensive! However, the door is no longer there, so you cant start it over.
Damn... Also you cant go back to where you came from because theres no door
there either! WTF? Anyway, fly up, then go left and hop on the Warp Star.
Whew! That took practically forever! Watch a list of your treasures scroll by.
At the end, it will say that you got 60/60 treasures, and that you earned
9,999,990 G ($99,999.90)! Amazing! THE END!
,--------------------------------------------.
---| 8.2 Getting Through As Quickly As Possible |------------------------------
`--------------------------------------------
This is a LOT faster than the other way, but you get NO treasures and NO money
(not to mention NO satisfaction :) ). I recommend using the previous way.
NOTE: This walkthrough is not as in-depth because Im tired of The Great Cave
Offensive after just writing 17 pages of the other walkthrough. Just kidding.
Actually, its because theres not as much to explain about, and Im assuming
youre killing all enemies so Im not describing how to do so. Also, Im trying
to see how much I can shrink it from 17 pages. :) Its kinda like how when you
ask a salesman something, theyll be very patient in answering your question,
until they realize youre not going to buy anything, at which point they answer
your questions tersely. So, before you read forward, please do consider going
for all the treasures and turning back to section 8.1, hmm? :P
Inhale the Knuckle Joe to become Fighter Kirby. Go all the way right, killing
enemies. Drop down and enter the door.
Go right. Go down the ladder. Go right. Drop down into the water. Go all the
way right. Go through the door.
Go right past the lava. Go up. Go all the way right. Go through the door.
Go right. Destroy the middle block on the ground. A miniboss will fall through
it and die. Go right and up the ladder. Go up another ladder. Go right. Go
halfway down another ladder, then jump off to the right. Go right. Go up a
ladder. Go left. Go up a ladder. Go left. Get some food. Go right. Go in the
door.
Go in the door.
Leave the room that Fatty Whale was in, through the right-hand door.
The room with three doors! Hahaa! If you read 8.1, youd understand that very
boring joke. Go in the lower right door.
Go right until you see a flower-shaped cookie. Get it and fly up. Go right.
When you reach the end, drop down and go down the ladder. Go far right and up a
ladder. Go right. Drop down, fly up, go right, enter the door.
Get the Maxim Tomato and hop in the mine cart. Once you reach the end, drop
down and go through the door.
Fall a HUGE distance. Go all the way right and enter the Saving Cabin (a
sparkly door). Save and recover. Come out. Now go all the way left (YESS! WE
CAN SKIP THE ENTIRE MAIN SECTION OF THE CASTLE!) and through the door.
Hop in the mine cart. When you reach the end, go in the door.
Go all the way left (IGNORE THE SWITCH!) and through the door.
Ignore the ability pedestals. Drop through all the platforms. Go in the door.
Drop down and go into the Saving Cabin. Save and recover. Come out. Drop
down. Enter the middle door.
Go all the way right and drop down. Enter the door.

Drop down through the floors, avoiding the springs by using the map, until you
get to the platform with a sleeper on it. Go through the door.
Fly up. Destroy the bomb block. Fly up more. Go left. Jump on the Warp Star.
Watch the list of your treasures (none) scroll by. You collected 0/60 treasures
and got 0 G. Then you get a Congratulations screen. THE END! Whoa ... I shrank
this from 17 pages to 3.5 pages just by skipping the treasures!
,--------------------------.
---| 8.3 Treasure Information |------------------------------------------------
`--------------------------
In this subsection, I will provide you with a listing of all the treasures in
the Great Cave Offensive. This is just for informational purposes Ive
noticed that some of the treasures seem to be cameo appearances of things from
other Nintendo games (like the Screw Ball)... Some other items just seem to be
things from general knowledge (like the Dime). So anyway, Ill put down
information about where the ones I recognized come from, and if know something
about the treasures and what they are, you can send in your own info and Ill
credit you in the Acknowledgements section (section 17). Cool, no?
Source means where the item is from (i.e. what is the item a reference to).
Ill put [unknown] if I dont get the reference.

#3 Whip (6,800 G)
Significance: (A whip is a supple cord with a handle, used to lash people with.
Due to its flexibility, with minimal movement of the wrist upon the
handle, the whips end can be made to move very fast, causing much pain.
Whips are often beaded at the end to cause even more pain, as well as to
weight the whip and make it more predictable to handle.)
Source: SayainPrince suggests that this is a reference to the famous Belmont
whip in the Castlevania series by Konami, or a reference to River City
Ransom.

Significance: This is one of those incredibly evil zebra masks that followed
Mario around in one (or maybe more) of the Super Mario Bros. games. Mario
would go into a pot and take out a key that was in it, in order to use it
later, but the angry zebra masks, owners of the key, would follow him
around and hurt him. UPDATE: Goldensunboy1 confirms that this is from
Super Mario Bros. 2.

Significance: This just might be one of the five star stones youre supposed to
get in the game Terranigma (by Enix and Quintet), during the third
chapter. As I recall, they look similar... then again, Terranigma wasnt
exactly a huge hit it wasnt even released in NTSC regions though it
ABSOLUTELY should have been so its not a very likely game for there to
be a cameo from... Who knows, it could be though. :) I cant think of any
other star stones, so what the heck. In Terranigma, you play as Ark,
the champion of the underworld (!), who unknowingly does his dark
masters bidding, first reviving the surface world (which had been
destroyed by an evil scientist who unleashed a biological weapon), then
reviving all life, and finally reviving the evil scientist, who your dark
master believes should have a second chance. In order to resurrect the
scientist, you need to collect five star stones and place them on altars
at the South Pole (the Terranigma world map is similar to the actual map
of Earth).

Significance: This is obviously a Green Koopa Shell from the Mario series.
Koopas are creatures somewhat like turtles. Mario jumps on them, which
causes them to retract into their shells, which he can then slide along
the ground, knocking off other enemies. Also in the Mario Kart series,
they can be used as ground-based weapons against other racers.

In Earthbound, you play as a boy named Ness, from the town of Onett in

defeat the evil tyrant Giygas (unpronounceable, whoo boy) before
he/she/it comes to power 10 years from now, and that you are the only one
who can do so. (Unfortunately Buzz-Buzz meets a sudden demise youre your

Saturn, who speak in a strange squiggly and curly font. :P They look

Significance: The Triforce is the famed soul of Hyrule in the Zelda series.
There are three pieces of the Triforce (which looks like a level-1
Sierpinski Triangle) one for Power, one for Wisdom, and one for
Courage. Link (the hero of the Zelda series) is generally the heir of the
Courage triforce piece; Princess Zelda (the damsel-in-distress sorta -
of the Zelda series) is generally the heiress of the Wisdom triforce
piece; and the evil Ganondorf (main villain of the Zelda series) is
generally the heir of the Power triforce piece.

| 9. The Revenge of Meta-Knight Walkthrough |
`-------------------------------------------
=============================================
In this game, you are trying to destroy the flying warship Halberd and its
owner, Sir Meta-Knight.
Select The Revenge of Meta-Knight on the main screen. A box will pop up,
saying, Save Dreamland! Defeat Meta-Knight and his giant warship Halberd!
Push A. Select New Game. Watch the dialogue.
NOTE: This is the only game in Kirby Superstar in which you have a limited time
to complete levels. Dont worry: Its adequate.
NOTE: Kill all enemies you see, unless otherwise noted. I assume you know how
to kill enemies fairly well by now.
,-------------.
---| 9.1 Halberd |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
You will land on the deck. Go right. Inhale a Gim and become Yo-yo Kirby. Press
the button to retract the wall. Go under it and through the door.
Go right and down the ladder. Kill the Zombie Axeman Clone. Go down and kill
the Robot Trident Guy Clone. Go down the elevator. Kill the Robot Staff Guy
Clone. Enter the door.
Avoid Heavy Lobster (the giant robot thing) while reading the dialogue.
Robot Trident Guy: Kirbys behind the nozzle! Fix him!
Meta-Knight: Prepare to take off! Blow Kirby away!
Zombie Axeman: OK! Main engine ignition!
Captain: Take off!
Now youll be blown away to the beach. Dont worry; its part of the story.
,---------------.
---| 9.2 The Ocean |-----------------------------------------------------------
`---------------
Keep going right until you come to a dead end. Jump into the water and swim
under it. Swim up and out of the water again. Go right to face the miniboss.
Go right, killing bombers. Jump in the water and continue right. Jump out of
the water at the end. Kill the walking bomb and drop into the gap on the other
side. Swim all the way down. Get the Maxim Tomato and destroy the bomb block.
Go right and through the door.
Why does Zombie Axeman always start the dialogues? Anyway, go all the way left
and enter the door.
Destroy the bomb block and the TAC. Go up until you see a door. If you want a
Maxim Tomato, go in. Hit the switch, get the Maxim Tomato, and go out. Keep
going up. When you reach a ladder, climb it. Climb another ladder, then go
right and through the door.
Miniboss: Bonkers x2
Same as before. Attack them with Vulcan Jab. If they attack you, shield.
Simple, no?
Make your way left, breaking bomb blocks. When you see a Wheel ability, get it.
Also create a Wheelie helper. Jump on it to become Wheelie Rider Kirby! Go
through the door. Use Rider Dash to zip through this room. On the second level,
make sure to jump after the second stretch of dark brown blocks. Enter the door
at the end.
Get off the Wheelie. Discard your abilities and your helper and inhale the
Burnin Leo. Use the spring to jump way up. Light the fuse on the right side,
and jump in the right-hand cannon. DONT USE THE LEFT-HAND CANNON; IT WILL HURT
YOU! Now youll meet Dyna Blade, who agrees to help you.
,-------------.
---| 9.4 Halberd |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
Go right. DONT USE BURNING ATTACK! Just use plain simple Fire Blow. Ride the
first sled but avoid the second. Continue right and into the door.
Miniboss: Robot Mace Guy Clone, Robot Trident Guy Clone, Zombie Axeman Clone
Go for the Mace Guy first, then the Trident Guy, then the Axeman. Shield
against their attacks (except the Trident Guy; his attacks penetrate your
shield). Easy.
Discard your abilities. Inhale the Bio Spark. Break the star blocks. Go down
and right. Get the Sword ability. Go back up and right. Face the miniboss.
Continue right. Break through the star blocks, then destroy both bomb blocks.
Go in the door.
Get the Maxim Tomato and the regular tomato. Then get the Super Candy. Go out
the door.
Hit the bomb block on the left. Then, climb up and destroy the star blocks. Run
right. Enter the door.
Get the Yo-Yo ability. Drop down and get the Maxim Tomato. Go in the door in
the upper right hand corner to face the boss.
Read the dialogue. While youre reading, follow the instructions in the next
paragraphs because the dialogue buys you time.
Go all the way right, through a bunch of enemies and a floating section of star
blocks, and hop onto the Warp Star.
Go right. Destroy the bomb block with Down Throw Attack. Go down, destroy
another bomb block. Repeat until you reach the bottom. Go right until you see a
bomb block. Destroy it. Get the Maxim Tomato (you probably needed that), then
go right to face a miniboss.
Continue right and jump on the Warp Star. Watch another cutscene.
,----------------------.
---| 9.5 Halberd Interior |----------------------------------------------------
`----------------------
Make your way right. DONT STEP ON ANYTHING WITH A LIGHTNING BOLT SIGN ON IT,
NOR ANYTHING WITH FLAMES OR SPARKS EMANATING FROM IT! Obviously. Itll fry you
if you do. When you reach the end, go up, then left. Go up the elevator. Go
right. Kill the Sir Kibble. Stand right by the retractable wall. Use Yo-Yo
Throw on the switch, then run under the wall. Go up the elevator. Kill the
Knuckle Joe. Fly up, past the door. Kill two more Knuckle Joes. Go in the door.
Damn straight! Get the Hammer ability and the Maxim Tomato, then go through the
door.
Captain: Ready?
Zombie Axeman: Is this OK, Sir?
Robot Trident Guy: Are you positive about this?
Captain: Be quiet! This is our only chance!
Captain: Dont fail again! Release Heavy Lobster!
Now its a side-self-scroller again. Plus, theres Heavy Lobster (remember it?)
chasing you! Head right, breaking star blocks, while reading the dialogue. When
you see two orange-and-black striped platforms, make sure to take the path in
between them if you go under them youll get stuck. Now itll start going up.
Keep going up until you reach the Boss stage.
Captain: Hee hee hee hee! Get Kirby!
Zombie Axeman: Oh, no, our battleship is being destroyed...
Captain: Thats not important now! Go ahead!
Drop down into the Heros Engine. It will shoot you downwards. Keep falling
until you see a door. Lean slightly left to fall into the bottom-most Heros
Engine. It will shoot you to the door. Enter the door.
Destroy the bomb block. Make your way left, destroying more bomb blocks, until
you reach a door. Enter it.
Hit the switch and go under the wall. This part requires quick action. Its
kinda like the part in The Great Cave Offensive where you had to get the
Crystal Ball. Anyway, heres how it works. Fly up to the switch on the
platform. Land on it, then immediately drop down and hit the switch on the
ground while running right. Run under the two walls, then climb down the
ladder, run right, hit the switch, run left, climb the ladder, run right, over
another switch, drop down, run right, and quickly climb two ladders. Whew! Go
into the elevator. Kill the walking gun. Go right, into another elevator. Go
down. Get the food. Go down and shield against the bullets. Kill the walking
gun. Hit the switch. Get back in the elevator and go all the way up. Shield.
Kill the walking gun. Get into the first elevator. Go down. Get the Yo-Yo
ability and the 1UP. Get back into the elevator. Go down. Go right, killing a
couple of birds and another walking gun. Go right. Destroy the bomb block and
enter the door.
Um... hidden tomatoes!? Kill the sleeper and the Knuckle Joe. Then get the
tomatoes: a Maxim Tomato and a regular tomato. Also eat the flan and the
pancakes. Then get the 1UP. Exit.
Hehe, guess the developers thought the boss was too hard to figure out and the
players needed a hint? Get the Maxim Tomato.
[cutscene]
Zombie Axeman: We are losing power! Engine No. 3! Engine No. 5!
Robot Trident Guy: Aint any power left! We cant fly!
Meta-Knight: (Weve failed... its over.)
Meta-Knight: Attention all crew! Evacuate ship!!
Captain: Waaah! The ships going down!
Make your way to the right. Get the Yo-yo ability. Read the dialogue as you go.
Get the Maxim Tomato and get in the elevator. Go up. Go right to meet a HUGE
miniboss - the REAL robot guys and zombie guy. Finally. After all those clones.
:)
Miniboss: Zombie Axeman x3, Robot Staff Guy x3, Robot Trident Guy x3
Not much to say here. Just attack, attack, attack, and hope you dont
lose too much health. (2 years later update: Ive found it quite
effective to use Yo-yo Kirbys Hammer Drop move. It kills these guys
instantly and hurts others of them that are nearby. And while youre
holding one, youre invulnerable to the others.)
OK, its time to face the final boss, Meta-Knight! Theres a sword on the
ground with the words GET IT! above it. This means that you should get the
sword so you can battle Meta-Knight, obviously. If you wait long enough, you
can fight him with the ability you currently have (and Yo-yo Throw does do
marvelously well), but its sorta dishonorable to not use the same weapon as
your opponent, especially in a duel. :) It really is a duel, in a way, since
Meta-Knight is somewhat similar to Kirby in size and appearance (except the
cape, and a different color) - probably the same... species... or something -
as well as being a character with some sort of personality in the Kirby canon.
Another cutscene.
Time for the chase sequence. Youll land on a Wheelie. Start riding!
,--------------------.
---| 9.6 Halberd Escape |------------------------------------------------------
`--------------------
Just ride forward (i.e. push Y) and jump when you need to. Meta-Knight has
turned into a bat and is flying around trying to hurt you. Just go really fast
and youll escape him.
Watch the Halberd crash into the ocean. Then, youll see credits, starring all
of Kirbys forms and helpers. THE END!

,----------------------------------.
| 10. Milky Way Wishes Walkthrough |
`----------------------------------
====================================
This is my personal favorite game in Kirby Superstar. In it, you are trying to
stop the sun and moon from fighting with each other. The best part of this game
is that instead of inhaling enemies to copy their abilities, you have to find a
Deluxe Pedestal, which makes you learn that ability forever! Sweet, no? You can
switch between abilities that youve learned at any time. It helped me
immensely when writing the Forms section.
SPECIAL CONTROLS: Press X to pause and cycle through the abilities that Kirby
has learned. Press Start to see a list of the abilities Kirby has learned. In
the Start menu, press Y or A over an ability to select it. Press B to look at
info about the ability, and press Start to exit the Start menu.
NOTE: Kill all enemies you see unless otherwise noted. Besides, theres no need
(and no point) to inhale them anyway.
NOTE: An incredibly cheap strategy for all the bosses in Milky Way Wishes is to
repeatedly use the copy ability on them (once you get it on the planet ?),
becoming whatever type of Kirby corresponds with the ability type of the boss,
and then switching back to the copy ability and copy them again. This way
theyll die in only a few hits, and theyre frozen while youre changing
abilities, and while youre copying them. HAHAHAHAHA! @_@ This works on ANY
boss that has an ability you could normally inhale after you beat it, such as
Bonkers, or Poppy Bros, etc. Even with a boss that doesnt have such an
ability, you can still damage it with the copy beam, though it wont stop in
its tracks at all.
NOTE: Another incredibly cheap strategy for some of the bosses in Milky Way
Wishes is to repeatedly throw hammers at them. Since you can always regain your
hammer ability, this extremely powerful move can be used repeatedly, unlike in
the other games where once you do it you lose the hammer ability, which was
probably pretty hard to get in the first place, since you can only really get
it easily from Bonkers minibosses. However, this strategy obviously will only
work once you get the Deluxe Hammer Ability from Cavios.
NOTE: Yet another incredibly cheap strategy for all of the bosses in Milky Way
Wishes is to repeatedly spit ability objects at them. Since you have unlimited
numbers of each ability, simply become something (say Suplex Kirby), then
create a helper, then turn the helper into an ability object, then inhale it
and spit it at the boss. Since ability objects are usually pretty precious in
the other games, the programmers made them VERY damaging as weapons. This
strategy will work even after youve only gotten one ability, so long as you
have something to convert into ability objects. TIP: Push a button on the
second controller (if you have one) in order to make your helper 2P. This way,
it will stay in place so you can convert it into an ability object, rather than
going off and attacking the boss like they are wont to do.
NOTE: YET another incredibly cheap strategy for all of the bosses in Milky Way
Wishes is to simply sit and shield in a corner of the room, constantly creating
helpers whenever one dies, and letting your helpers do all the work! Ha ha. :)
Select Milky Way Wishes on the main screen. A box will pop up, saying, HELP!
You must stop the Sun and Moon from fighting! Press A. Select Yes. Do the
Beginners Show thing. Jump on the Warp Star.
Now youre on the main map. First, find a small greenish looking star in the
background (its to the right and a bit below Pop Star, where you start out).
Fly over to it and push A. Now youre on the planet ?.
,----------.
---| 10.1 ? |----------------------------------------------------------------
`----------
Go all the way right, inhaling TACs and spitting them back out at other TACs.
Go in the door.
Fly all the way to the right and enter the door.
Watch out dont fall into the abyss. Fly and get the Copy ability! Fly onto
the warp star.
Now youre back on the main map. Go to the planet above Pop Star (The big
yellow star-shaped planet) and push A. Now youre in Floria.
,-------------.
---| 10.2 Floria |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
NOTE: In Floria, there are some doors that, instead of taking you somewhere
else, change the season. I will call these season doors. In spring, the
ground is light green. In summer, it is darker green. In autumn, it is light
brown. In winter, it is white.
NOTE: Here, youll get the Ice, Fighter, and Cutter abilities.
Go all the way left and enter the door. Get the Ice ability and exit. Go back
right, up the ladder, and into the season door. Go to Autumn.
Go right, over the stump. Continue right until you see a door. Its a season
door, so enter it. Go to Winter.
Drop down, break the ice, and enter the door. Get the Fighter ability and the
food and exit.
Fly up and go right. Break through the frozen waterfall (its only frozen in
Winter). Go right. Pass a door and jump over a stump. Go in the door. Go to
Summer.
Enter the door on the left. Get the Cutter ability and exit. Go right, past
the door. Keep going until you reach a dead end. Enter the season door. Go to
Autumn.
Hop over the stump to the right, and go into the sparkly door to meet the boss.
Jump onto the Warp Star. Now youre back on the main map. Theres a trail
leading to the next planet. Go to it and press A. Now youre on the planet
Aqualiss.
,---------------.
---| 10.3 Aqualiss |-----------------------------------------------------------
`---------------
NOTE: Here, youll get the Parasol, Beam, and Sword abilities.
Fly up and right. Shield against the coconut bomb. Continue right until you
come to three bomb blocks. Destroy them all. Drop down into the hole. Swim down
and right. Destroy the bomb block. Swim all the way right, then swim up and out
of the water. Fly left. Kill the Sir Kibble and shield against the bomb. Get
the food. Now go right. Drop into the next body of water you see (apart from
the one you just came out of). Destroy the bomb block. Fly into the door that
just appeared. Get the Parasol ability and exit. Go into the water to your
right. Use Parasol Dive to get the food and the 1UP. Continue right and out of
the water. Go right, past the cannon, and through the door.
In this room, there are bubbles of air in which Kirby acts as if he was out of
water. If you try to go through one, youll jump as if you were coming out of
water. Be careful not to jump into spiky invincible things, though! Anyway,
swim all the way down. Get the food. Go right. When you reach a wall, go up and
right until you reach real air (i.e. not a bubble). Go right, killing enemies,
and then drop into some more water. Go left, then down, then onto dry ground
again. Continue right and into some _more_ water. Get the food. Go up and left.
Get the Maxim Tomato, then go all the way up and through the door.
You are swimming in a body of water that miraculously sticks to the sides of
the screen! Anyway, fly out of the water onto the structure. Go to the bottom
platform and enter the door.
Go all the way right, killing Blade Knights. Use Parasol Dive on the cement
blocks. Drop down. Fly left and get the Maxim Tomato, then continue left to
face a miniboss.
Get the Sword ability that appeared. Then backtrack to the door and exit. For
the part near where the cement blocks were, I recommend using the Parasol
ability; a Blade Knight will fall on you, and the parasol will protect you.
Go to the lower right corner of the water border and enter the door.
This is a maze of currents. If you go slightly off course, you have to start
over again. Heres how to navigate it correctly. Enter the maze. Where the path
splits, go down, right, down, right, and up (in order). Get the Beam ability.
Enter the door. This time, at the intersections, go down, right, down, right,
down, right. Now youre in an area with a door. Ignore it. Go up and right.
Ignore the path that goes down. Continue right. Ignore two paths that go up. Go
right. The current will sweep you right and down. Go right again. Keep
following the path until you reach land. Go all the way right and through the
door.
Now youre back on the main map. As before, follow the trail to the next planet
and push A. Now youre on the planet Skyhigh.
,--------------.
---| 10.4 Skyhigh |------------------------------------------------------------
`--------------
Here, you will get the Jet, Wheel, and Wing abilities.
Go right. Just after the four star blocks, youll see one star block in the
sky. Fly above it to get a 1UP. Drop down again. Keep going right until you
reach a strong wind that pushes you right and a star block blocking a shaft.
Use Rising Break (Fighter Kirby) on the star block, then fly up the shaft. Go
through the door. Get the Jet ability and exit. Drop down and go right until
you come to a fuse sticking out of the ground. Stand to the right of it, facing
right. Switch to Jet Kirby. Charge up a Jet Dash. When you begin to charge up,
youll ignite the fuse. Wait for a bit so that the fuse burns all the way to
the cannon. Release Y. Youll zoom forward, reigniting the fuse with your
jetpacks exhaust. Youll also kill the snowman. Continue right, Hover over the
snowmen, and land in the cannon. You need to act fast, or you may miss. Wait
until you are shot upwards. Kill the Wheelies and get the Wheel ability. Get
the food. Exit. Go right and through the door.
OK, this part is kinda confusing. Theres a bunch of rooms. Each one has three
doors (OH MY GOD!!! WAHAHAHAHA! THIS IS SO FUNNY! Never mind). Each of the
three doors in each of the three rooms leads to another room. Room #1 has a
Parasol Waddle Dee and a Parasol Waddle Doo in it. This is where you start.
Room #2 has two spiky invincible things. Room #3 has three Sir Kibbles. Room #4
has two artillery guns and a walking gun. Room #5 has two Poppy Bros. Jr.s and
a Poppy Bros. Room #6 has a sleeping bear and two sleepers. Room #7 has two
walking bombs. Room #8 has two Evil Cats. Heres a chart of what goes to what.
There is another room, but it doesnt have three doors. Ill call it W for
Wing. You can only reach it from Room #8. Also, theres the exit, which you can
only reach from room #7. Ill call it X.
,------+---------+-----------+----------.
|Room #|Left Door|Middle Door|Right Door|
+------+---------+-----------+----------+
| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
| 2 | 5 | 3 | 1 |
| 3 | 5 | 2 | 1 |
| 4 | 1 | 6 | 7 |
| 5 | 2 | 3 | 8 |
| 6 | 8 | 4 | 7 |
| 7 | 6 | X | 4 |
| 8 | 5 | W | 6 |
`---------------------------------------
NOTE: There is one door in room W. It leads to room 8.
Sorry if its kinda confusing. OK, heres how you use the chart. Let say youre
in room 6 and you want to get to room 5. You look at the chart. Look for 6
under Room #. Look at the Left Door, Middle Door, and Right Door. The numbers
next to 6 show that in room 6, the left door leads to room 8, the middle door
leads to room 4, and the right door leads to room 7. Well, none of these are 5
(which is where you want to go), but the chart says that the left door in room
8 will take you to room 5, and the left door in room 6 will take you to room 8.
So take the left door to go to room 8, and then the left door there to go to
room 5. Voil! From room 6 to room 5 in two steps! Is that still too confusing?
*sigh*. Well, Ill just tell you what doors to use to get out of here. :)
You start in room 1. You have to get to room W. So take the left door to go to
room 2, then take the left door to go to room 5, then take the right door to go
to room 8, then take the middle door to go to room W. Get the Wing ability. Now
we need to get from room W to room X. So, take the door to go to room 8, then
take the right door to go to room 6, then take the right door to go to room 7,
then take the middle door to go to X. Ta-da! Were out of here! Now to face the
boss. Luckily, we have invincibility.
OK, all done. Jump on the Warp Star. Now youre back on the main map. Follow
the trail to the planet Hotbeat.
,--------------.
---| 10.5 Hotbeat |------------------------------------------------------------
`--------------
Youll land near a sleeper. Kill it. Drop down and kill some more. Fly right,
avoiding the lava. Kill the Sir Kibble. Fly up, killing sleepers. Fly left and
into the Heros Engine. It will shoot you near a sleeper. Kill the sleeper. Fly
upwards. When you see a Super Candy, get ready for some quick action. Here
goes: Get the candy. Backtrack down and right until you see a bomb block.
Destroy it. Fly up THROUGH THE LAVA, and into a door. Fly upwards, killing
Burnin Leos, until you come to a door. By now, the invincibility will probably
have worn off.
Enter the door. Get the Fire ability. Fly through the door. Now youre back
where the candy was. Continue right and through the door.
DONT JUMP ON ANY MINE CARTS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED!!! Go right until you see
lava. Switch to Beam Kirby. Use Wave Beam on the bomb block. Use Jet Kirby to
blast across the lava. Kill the Evil Cat. Ignore the stake. Fly right. Land on
safe ground. Kill the bomber. If you need a Maxim Tomato, stand on the fifth
tile of the platform (counting from the left) and drop through. Then fly back
up. Go right. Kill the Evil Cat with Wave Beam. Fly right. Destroy the bomb
blocks and fly right. Fly past the stake and upwards. Kill the Evil Cat and get
the food. Continue right. Fly over some lava. Kill the Evil Cat, then switch to
Fighter Kirby. Jump to the left, then use Rising Break to the right on the
breakable bricks above your head. (You need to jump left first in order for the
Rising Break to hit above where you where before you jumped left, since Rising
Break does tend a bit sideways as well as upwards.) Fly up and enter the door.
Walk right to face the miniboss.
Miniboss: Bugzzy
Use Fighter Kirbys Smash Punch a lot, and dont use your shield. It
doesnt work. If he launches some flying bugs at you, kill them with
Smash Punch. If he starts flashing and kinda squishing up, jump, because
hes about to dash at you. He may also jump around a lot. This is a good
chance to Smash Punch him because he wont attack you (unless he lands on
you). His best move is when he hovers in the air. Hes trying to get
above you and land on you. But he can only hover for a short while, so
just stay away from him until he lands. Keep at him until hes dead and
gone.
Get the Suplex ability. This is one of the best ways to get rid of enemies
and get through levels fast. Anyway, go back and through the door. Switch to
Beam Kirby and kill the Evil Cat and the unseen bomb block with one Wave Beam.
Fly right. Ignore the ladder. Continue right, destroying bomb blocks with Wave
Beam, until you come to a gap in the floor. Fly up and left. Kill the bomber.
Then fly low to get the Maxim Tomato and the 1UP. Backtrack to the gap in the
ground. Fly over it and go through the door.
Drop down and right. Fly right. Kill the Evil Cat. Fly carefully up and right.
Get the Maxim Tomato and the 1UP. Fly back left and up, avoiding spiky
invincible things and killing Evil Cats. Fly right. Land just to the right of
the Heros Engine. Drop down and left to get another Maxim Tomato and another
1UP. Now jump in the Heros Engine to the right of you. The next chance you
have, go up. Then, go left. Get the 1UP and go back to the Heros Engine. Go
right. When you land, go right, into another Heros Engine. Next, go down and
left to get a Maxim Tomato. Hop in the Heros Engine again. This time, go
right. Go into the sparkly door to face the boss.
Jump on the Warp Star. Now youre on the main map. Follow the trail to Cavios,
the next planet.
,-------------.
---| 10.6 Cavios |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
Go right, down the ladder, up the next ladder, and right to face a miniboss.
Continue right. Switch to Suplex Kirby. Ignore the ladder. Continue right. Kill
the Sir Kibble and the Bio Spark. Continue right to face a miniboss.
Get the Bomb ability. Continue right. Get the Maxim Tomato. Drop down. Go
left. Go down. Go right until you see a gap. Drop into it. Go right to face a
miniboss.
Miniboss: Bonkers
Dont worry. Youve seen this guy in action many times. Meaning that hes
easy. Now that you have the Bomb ability, use it hard and fast to knock
him out quick.
Get the Hammer ability. Go right. Pound in the stake. Get the food, the Maxim
Tomato, and the 1UP. Go down the ladder. Go all the way left (using Suplex on
the enemies) and face the miniboss.
Miniboss: Bugzzy
Same as before. Knock him out with bombs. Avoid his attacks. Dont
shield.
Go in the door. Switch to Fighter Kirby. Fly up to the bomb block. Destroy it.
Swim up (yes, its possible, just kinda hard). Go right and hit the switch.
Quickly swim back down, through the gap, and right. Go under the wall and
through the door. Get the Stone ability and the 1UP, the Maxim Tomato, the
food, and the Super Candy. Go through the door. Go all the way up. Then go
right. Go down two ladders. Drop down and go through the sparkly door to meet
the boss.
Jump on the Warp Star. Now youre on the main map. Follow the trail to Mecheye.
,--------------.
---| 10.7 Mecheye |------------------------------------------------------------
`--------------
This place is reminiscent of the Halberd, dont you think? Here, youll get the
Yo-Yo and Plasma abilities.
Now youre on top of a room. Jump to the right. Youll land on another room
with a bomb block on top of it. Dont destroy the bomb block. Fly down the
right side of the thing youre on. Part of the wall is breakable. Break it and
enter. Get all the food and the 1UP. Fly out, right, and up to a platform with
a spiky invincible thing on it (the upper platform). Go right, avoiding the
spiky invincible thing and getting various items. Jump into the Heros Engine.
Youll be catapulted three times. After the last time, start flying, otherwise
youll die. Kill the Capsule J and fly up and right, over the building. Land on
the bomb block.
Switch to Fighter Kirby. This is risky and hard, so if you want, you can just
destroy the bomb block and go through the door. If you want to take the risk,
do this: Fall below the bomb block. Use Rising Break and then QUICKLY fall to
the left to catch the 1UP before it dies. This is extremely hard. _Then_ fly up
to the door and enter it, getting the Super Candy.
Heres a cheap way of getting through this. Quickly drop through the platforms
near the Birdon. Run right, through the spikes and electrified blocks (youre
invincible, remember?), until you reach a sort of hill with two spiky
invincible things and a Sir Kibble. If you want to do it the normal way, here
goes. Go up and right. Kill the Sir Kibble. Drop down on the other side and get
the food. Go right. When you see a switch under a block, break the block. Hit
the switch. Drop down. Run right across the blocks that just appeared. Run up
the hill. Now youre where you would be if you had taken the cheap way. Fly
left and up. Theres a platform. Land on it. Fly up to the door and enter.
Get on the elevator. Kill the Gim. Go all the way down to the bottom. Kill a
Gim on every level. Get the food and go through the door. Get the Yo-Yo
ability. Exit. Go all the way left. Fly. An air current will make you shoot
straight up. Get on the elevator at the top and go up. Switch to Jet Kirby and
go through the door.
Store power in Jet Kirbys jetpack, then use it to get back to the lower
right-hand part of the windy, square area that the door you just came out of
was at the top of. From there, hover to the upper right, where there should be
a switch. Hit the switch and go back down to the lower right. This leads back
to that hill with the Sir Kibble. Go up the hill and fly to the area above it,
where you can now get some food. Go back to the hill, and walk down the right
side of it. Jump up the platforms. Go to the second one from the top. Heres
another push-the-switch-go-under-the-wall-push-the-switch-go-under-the-wall
deal. Get ready. Here goes. Run right, touch the switch, run left, jump up, run
right, go over the switch, go under the wall, drop down, run right, touch the
switch, run left, fly up, go under the wall, drop down, go under the wall. Now
youre safe. Drop through the platform and go through the door.
OK, in this room, theres a HUGE number of minibosses. In this walkthrough, Im
going to skip all the optional ones, just to save time (and health). Run right,
get the food, run past the elevator, get the Maxim Tomato, and run back to the
elevator. Go up all the way. The optional minibosses are on the left and right
of each stop. Once youre at the top, go left. Face the miniboss.
Get the Plasma ability that appeared. Huh?? Why did the Spiky Boxer leave
behind the Plasma ability? Plasma Kirby charges his one and only move by
pushing different directions on the D-Pad. So charge up a lot by randomly
pressing the D-Pad. Go right. Kill the Plasma Wisp. Charge up again, then send
off a Plasma Wave Cannon. It will destroy a bomb block off the screen, making a
new path available. Go right and get the Maxim Tomato and 3 1UPs. Go back to
the elevator. Go down one floor. Go right to face a miniboss.
Miniboss: Bonkers
Hes getting kind of old, huh? Just kill him with bombs.
Jump on the Warp Star. Now youre back on the main map. Follow the trail to the
last planet, Halfmoon.
,---------------.
---| 10.8 Halfmoon |-----------------------------------------------------------
`---------------
The final planet! Here, youll get the Mirror and Ninja abilities.
Discard your abilities and go through the door.
As soon as you land, inhale and swallow the walking bomb. Now youre Crash
Kirby! Shield. Keep shielding until youre blown all the way to a gap in the
ground. Use your Crash ability to destroy all enemies on the screen. Now youre
Normal Kirby again. Jump over the gap and shield. When you see another walking
bomb, inhale it to become Crash Kirby again. Continue shielding. When you see a
Warp Star below, use the Crash ability. Now youre Normal Kirby again. Switch
to Hammer Kirby. When you drop off the cliff, use Hammer Nail on the blocks to
get to the Warp Star. Jump on it. When you land, enter the door. Whew!
Jump in the trolley, and keep going until it crashes. Then fly up to the next
platform, where there is another trolley. Get in it (make sure its the first
one on the way up from where your original trolley crashed, not the second) and
keep going until that crashes as well. You should see a star block embedded in
the ground below you. Switch to Yo-Yo Kirby, then drop down onto the star block
and break it. As you fall, enter the door. Kill the Simirrors and get the
Mirror ability. Exit. Switch to Hammer Kirby. Fly up and right to where the
stake is. Laugh at the claustrophobic crocodile. >XD ... Pound in the stake.
Kill the crocodile. Go right. Laugh at another claustrophobic crocodile. Pound
in the stake. Kill the crocodile. Go right. Roll your eyes and say, This is
getting old.... Pound in the stake. Kill the crocodile. Continue right. Kill
the bomber. Pound in the stake. Fly up from where the trolley is and get a
Maxim Tomato. Drop back down and go right. Go through the door.
Youre right next to a Warp Star. If you want to save time, jump on it. I will
join you soon. If youre opting to get a 1UP and a Maxim Tomato, heres how.
Fly down and get some food. Fly right (dont touch the weird things) and follow
the path until you get to a Maxim Tomato. Get it if you want. Fly right, then
down and left to get a 1UP. Go down and right to face a miniboss. This is where
you landed if you took the Warp Star.
This part is weird. The wind is blowing upwards. Fly up, avoiding the Evil
Cats. Go up until you see a sleeper, an artillery gun, and a bomb block. Kill
the sleeper and destroy the bomb block. Go in the door. Kill the Bio Sparks and
get the Ninja ability. Exit. Go up, getting the food behind the breakable
wall on the left. Kill the sleeper and the laser orb with Knife Throw. Get the
food. Go up into the water. Go all the way up. Get the Maxim Tomato and go
through the door to face the boss.
,-----------.
---| 10.9 Nova |---------------------------------------------------------------
`-----------
Huh? A new planet just appeared! Wait ... it has a face! Thats no planet! Its
a boss! Push A near it. Watch the cutscene.
[Empty space]
...
[Kirby approaches and gets off his Warp Star]
...
[Nova, a huge thing that looks like an oversized pocketwatch with a face and
a whole bunch of gizmos hanging out, appears]
...
Nova: Ready > {Editors note: This is supposed to look like the C:\> DOS
prompt. WAHAHAHAHA!!! :) }
Nova: I will grant you one wish... >
...
[Marx appears and bumps off Kirby]
Marx: Well, I want to control POPSTAR!
Nova: OK > 3 , 2 , 1 , BLAST OFF! {Editors note: This is so pathetic ...
:( }
...
Marx: WOW! It worked.
A Voice: The Sun & Moon are fighting. Go find NOVA. {Editors note: It
seems like this is Marx, but who is he talking to, and why does he
want them to find Nova?} {Editors note, 2 years later: Oh yeah, this
is a flashback from the intro to MWW.}
[Marx ... changes. Kinda like when Ganondorf becomes Ganon, but on a smaller
scale.]
Marx: All my plans worked!
Marx: POPSTAR is all MINE!
Marx: Now, I can do anything! I must be going now.
Marx: Hahahahahahahahah...
...
[Kirbys Warp Star comes back and turns into a spaceship. Kirby rides off on
it.]
OK, now we know that Marx is the final boss and that Nova is the semifinal boss
(semifinal boss? Never heard that one before). Since youre on the main map, go
to where Nova is (near Pop Star). Push A to begin.
Youre in a spaceship. The controls are different. The entire inside of Nova is
a side-self-scroller. Up, down, left, and right move the spaceship up, down,
left, and right _in relation to the screen_. Pushing any button causes the
spaceship to fire stars to the right, upper right, and lower right.
If you have turbo, USE IT! If not, just mash buttons. Keep going forwards. If
you see a flashing red light, KILL IT QUICK! Eventually, it will start speeding
up. BE CAREFUL AND DONT HIT ANYTHING! You need your health for the semifinal
boss and the final boss. :)
,------------.
---| 10.10 Marx |--------------------------------------------------------------
`------------
OUCH! You dont even get a Maxim Tomato before fighting the final boss!?!? I
sure hope you were stingy on the health, because Marx is HARD!
Watch the cutscene. Marx, sent flying, crashes into Nova, causing it to fully
explode. Then, Kirby heads home. You see Kirby sleeping. After a while, you see
the outside of Kirbys house, with complete credits for Kirby Superstar
scrolling. Then the camera goes up through the sky. Eventually, it reaches
space. Wait until theyre done. Heres a list of them, if you want to know who
did what. I believe that these are credits for the entire game of Kirby Super
Star (since this is the last game within it), but Im not sure. Here they are
anyway.

This section covers miscellaneous features of Kirby Superstar that were not
covered in the six walkthroughs before this section.
,--------------------.
---| 11.1 Megaton Punch |------------------------------------------------------
`--------------------
In this minigame, you have to make a bigger crack in the ground than the
opponent. There are three rounds, each one harder than the next. There are also
three degrees of difficulty that you can select before starting. You can also
play against a friend in 2P mode.
Select Megaton Punch on the main menu. Choose 1P or 2P. If 1P, choose the
difficulty level. If 2P, choose the number of rounds.
In 1P, Kirby is on the left, and the opponent is on the right. There are three
rounds. The first opponent is Waddle Dee, the second is Knuckle Joe, and the
third is Spiky Boxer.
HERES HOW YOU PLAY: First, theres a power meter that goes up and down. Press
any button when its at the top. Then, two crosshairs will fly around in a
circular pattern. Push any button when theyre exactly on top of each other.
Then, a stopwatch will swing back and forth like a pendulum. Press any button
when its at the bottom of its swing (theres a white circle to show you where
that is).
Then, Kirby will punch a stack of cement blocks. The closer you got to the top
of the meter, the closer the crosshairs were to each other, and the closer the
stopwatch was to the white circle, all influence how hard Kirby punches. If you
got all three perfectly, youll get a score of 201 Mt. (megatons) and split Pop
Star in half. o_O The meter stands for the power of the punch, the crosshairs
for the aim, and the stopwatch for the timing. Anyway, the point is to make as
large a fissure in the planet as possible. Geez, you just went to all that
trouble to save Pop Star from Marx and Nova, and now youre splitting it in
half!? |:( You have to beat all three opponents to win. Each one is harder than
the previous one. (2 years later note: in the original v0.9 of this guide, I
misread the measurement as M instead of Mt., and thought it stood for the
length of the fissure you made in Pop Star, and started theorizing about
meters, miles, or perhaps myriameters which would make Pop Star approximately
the same size as Earth, etc. ... of course it was all wrong but I sure didnt
like deleting it... :'( ... Oh well.)
Here are the predetermined scores of your various opponents in the three
different difficulty levels:
LEVEL 1
Waddle Dee 151 Mt.
Knuckle Joe 160 Mt.
Spiky Boxer 167 Mt.
LEVEL 2
Waddle Dee 163 Mt.
Knuckle Joe 168 Mt.
Spiky Boxer 175 Mt.
LEVEL 3
Waddle Dee 167 Mt.
Knuckle Joe 175 Mt.
Spiky Boxer 186 Mt.
In 2P, Kirby is on the left, and a random opponent (Waddle Dee, Knuckle Joe, or
Spiky Boxer) is on the right. 1P controls Kirby, and 2P controls the other
person. Same as in 1P mode, except that all rounds are played. The winner is
determined by the number of matches they won. If there is a draw, you redo the
match and the draw doesnt count.
Here are the various things that happen based on how high your Mt. score is:
Megatons Effect
0 - 99 Nothing happens!
100 109 Light damage to upper block!
110 119 Heavy damage to upper block; light damage to lower block!
120 129 Heavy damage to upper and lower blocks!
130 139 Upper block destroyed; lower block sustains heavy damage!
140 149 Complete destruction of both blocks!
150 159 Complete destruction of both blocks; the ground is split by a
rift!
160 169 Complete destruction of both blocks; the ground is split by a
rift that is visible from space as a small crack in the
planet!
170 179 Complete destruction of both blocks; the ground is split by a
rift that is visible from space as a crack that reaches
almost from the edge to the center of the planet!
180 189 Complete destruction of both blocks; the ground is split by a
rift that is visible from space as a crack that reaches from
the edge PAST the center of the planet!
190 197 Complete destruction of both blocks; the ground is split by a
rift that is visible from space as a crack that almost splits
the planet in half!
198 201 Complete destruction of both blocks; the ground is split by a
rift that is visible from space as a crack that splits the
planet in half!
,--------------------.
---| 11.2 Samurai Kirby |------------------------------------------------------
`--------------------
In this minigame, you have to attack your opponent as soon as the signal is
given, but not before. This tests your reaction time.
Select Samurai Kirby on the main screen. Then, you can select 1P or 2P. If 1P,
you then choose the difficulty; Beginner, Novice, or Expert. If 2P, you select
the number of matches, 1-99. Down increases the ones place, Up decreases the
ones place, Left decreases the tens place, and Right increases the tens place.
In 1P, you face five opponents, each harder than the one before. They are
Waddle Doo, Wheelie, Cook Kawasaki, King Dedede, and Sir Meta-Knight. First,
you will see Kirby and the opponent glaring at each other. Then, youll face
off. Watch the ground right below where the sun is rising/setting. Suddenly,
one, two, or three exclamation mark(s) will appear there. IMMEDIATELY push any
button. If you reacted faster than the opponent, you win the round. If not, you
lose. If you both attack at the same time, its a draw and you redo the round.
If you hit a button before the exclamation mark(s) appeared, youll get a
strike and redo the round. Two strikes, and the opponent wins. You have to beat
all five opponents to win.
Here are the reaction times of the computer in the three different difficulty
modes:
BEGINNER
Waddle Doo 82
Wheelie - 50
Cook Kawasaki 21
King Dedede - 16
Sir Meta-Knight 11
NOVICE
Waddle Doo - 63
Wheelie - 41
Cook Kawasaki - 17
King Dedede - 13
Sir Meta-Knight 10
EXPERT
Waddle Doo - 18
Wheelie - 14
Cook Kawasaki - 12
King Dedede - 10
Sir Meta-Knight 08
In 2P, Kirby is on the left, and a random opponent (Waddle Doo, Wheelie, Cook
Kawasaki, King Dedede, or Sir Meta-Knight) is on the right. 1P controls Kirby,
and 2P controls the other person. Same as in 1P mode, except that all rounds
are played. The winner is determined by the number of matches they won. If
there is a draw, the round is repeated.
,----------------.
---| 11.3 The Arena |----------------------------------------------------------
`----------------
Select The Arena on the main screen. A box will pop up, saying THE FINAL
CHALLENGE! In his toughest battle yet, the Pink Wonder faces his strongest
enemies. Push A, then Start.
This is the hardest game in Kirby Superstar. It is what All Star mode in SSBM
was based on. How do I know that for sure? Because in All Star mode in SSBM,
the music in between fights is a remix of the Save Cabin music from Kirby
Superstar! Freaky. Anyway, in this minigame, you have to beat 19 bosses from
the various other games. Throughout the game, you get only five Maxim Tomatoes,
and if you die, you lose the game. The bosses include:
Chameleo Arm
Computer Virus
Cook Kawasaki, Bonkers, Bugzzy
Dyna Blade
Fatty Whale
Halberds Reactor
Heart of Nova
Heavy Lobster
King Dedede
Kracko
Lololo, Lalala
Poppy Bros, Icy Walrus, Spiky Boxer, Bujutsu Master
Sir Meta-Knight
Twin Cannon
Twin Woods
Waddle Dee
Wham Bam Rock
Whispy Woods
Marx
NOTE: Lines containing more than one boss mean that you will face all of those
bosses in a row without access to the Maxim Tomato Tree.
They are in random order, but Marx is always last. See the Bosses section for
strategies.
You start out in a room with all of Kirbys ability pedestals. Choose your
favorite (Id go with Fighter Kirby), and jump on the Warp Star.
Now youre in a room. There are two randomly selected ability pedestals, in
case you want to switch. In the upper right corner, theres a picture of your
next opponent. In the upper left corner, theres five Maxim Tomatoes. They will
not grow back, so eat them sparingly. Theres also a Warp Star you can jump on
to go to the next boss. Youll come back to this room after every boss or
series of bosses (i.e. one line in the list of bosses above).
Beat all the bosses. Eat Maxim Tomatoes when necessary. Once you beat all 19,
you win! Its tough but certainly possible. Once you manage to complete the
Arena challenge, try to see the best time you can get! (It shows how long you
took at the bottom of the screen when you win.)
For boss information and strategies, check out section 13.3 (Bosses).
,-----------------.
---| 11.4 Sound Test |---------------------------------------------------------
`-----------------
The Sound Test is available once you beat The Arena. Select the music note on
the main screen. Now youre in the Sound Test.
There are 65 music tracks and 248 sound effects. Use Up and Down to switch
between music and sound effects. Use Left and Right to select a particular
track or sound effect. Push Y to start the music or sound effect. Push A to
fade out the music or sound effect. Push X to exit the sound test. Push B or
Start to stop the music or sound effect. L and R work the same way as Left and
Right, except that with L and R, the music or sound effect plays as soon as you
select it.
My personal favorite music tracks are 1, 8, 12, 14, 18, 28, 34, 41, 43, 45, 50,
53, 54, 55, 61, 65. Not that it matters.

NOTE: Song titles were taken from the Kirby Super Star downloadable SPC set (it
can be found at http://www.snesmusic.org/) and were invented by Sephiro444. At
least I assume they were invented, because there appears that there was no
official Kirby Super Star soundtrack released.
,---------------------------.
---| 11.5 Mono / Stereo Button |-----------------------------------------------
`---------------------------
This is extremely simple. There is an icon on the main screen that looks like a
boombox. Select it. Push A to turn it into a radio (the old but not
vacuum-tube-old kind). Push A again to turn it back into a boombox. Boombox
means Stereophonic Sound or Stereo. Old-ish radio means Monaural Sound or Mono.
Easy! I dont even know why this has its own section in this guide...
=====================
,-------------------.
| 12. Kirbys Forms |
`-------------------
=====================
At last, the long-awaited Kirbys Forms section! Here I will list _all_ the
moves for each of Kirbys forms, as far as I know them. Please do email me if I
missed any forms (I really doubt that) or if I missed any moves for specific
forms. Remember that doing a ground move in the air should be considered a
separate move, too. :) You may have noticed that for some forms
(*cough**Sword**cough*), the in-game informational menu does not provide you
with all moves for that form, so I have included the ones that are not in the
menu as well. If you have a suggestion for another property of the various
abilities that I could add, besides the ones that are already there, please
tell me that too.
NOTE: In front of each move are three symbols. The first one represents whether
the move is official or unofficial. Official means that it is described in
the in-game menu. Unofficial means the opposite. :) A - stands for Official,
and a U stands for Unofficial. The second symbol represents whether the move
can be used in water or not. If it can, there is a W for Water. The third
symbol represents whether the move can be used by Kirby and a helper. -
signifies both can use it. K signifies Kirby only. H signifies Helper only.
NOTE: All Kirby forms can fly (or an equivalent), slide kick, jump, dash (or an
equivalent), super jump, and shield (or an equivalent).

---| 12.1 Ice |----------------------------------------------------------------
`----------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Turn Kirby into the ice man and turn the enemies into frozen blocks of ice.
Dont slip!
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby turns blue and his feet turn purple. He gains a blue
coronet that flashes occasionally, with a red gem on his forehead.
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 3/5
Fun 4/5
Power 3/5
Protection 4/5
MOVES:
--- Y/Hold Y - Freezer Breath. Kirby blows short-range cold air. Turns
enemies into ice blocks.
--- Dash+Y OR Y repeatedly - Freezer Blizzard. Kirby forms a cloud of ice
around himself. Turns enemies into ice blocks.
--- B+Y - Freezer Sprinkle. Kirby blows cold air while spinning diagonally.
He makes two full rotations. Turns enemies into ice blocks.
--- >+Y, near enemy - Freezer Suction. Kirby grabs the enemy with his mouth.
Kirby is immobilized and invulnerable.
--- Y, after Freezer Suction - Freezer Ejection. Kirby spits out the enemy as
an ice block.
--- Touch ice block - Ice Kick. Kirby kicks the ice block forward as a
projectile.
U-- Dash - Skate
U-- Dash+B+Y - Fast Freezer Sprinkle. Like Freezer Sprinkle, but faster. He
makes four full rotations.
U-- L OR R - Frozen Shield. Similar to Shield; Kirby is encased in ice.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Freezer Blizzard is very efficient for fighting the bosses Whispy Woods and
Twin Woods. It continuously hurts the boss, and destroys all projectiles
from the boss.
- Freezer Sprinkle and Fast Freezer Sprinkle are useful attacks to use against
bosses, especially in combination with agile jumping and maneuvering. This
is because with Freezer Sprinkle you dont have to be facing the boss in
order to hurt it.
,-------------.
---| 12.2 Plasma |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Shock your enemies by firing sparks! Move the + Control Pad to store energy
and really electrocute those enemies.
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby gains a green coronet that pulses with power and has
a blue gem on the front. Sparks also appear around Kirby. At Slight
Power, Kirbys coronet pulses a bit faster. At Medium Power,
Kirbys coronet pulses even faster, and is brighter. There are also
more sparks. At High Power, Kirbys coronet starts pulsing black as
well as green. At Full Power, Kirby holds his hands above his head,
as a circular force field surrounds him. His coronet is flashing so
fast that it looks almost completely black.
WHICH GAMES: Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of Meta-Knight;
Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 2/4
Fun 4/5
Power 4/5
Protection 4/5
MOVES:
* The more you press the + Control Pad, the more power is stored.
In other words, you need to charge yourself up by pressing the D-Pad in various
directions. Notice that you can do this while holding L/R to avoid moving
around while charging. Useful! However, the charge does diminish over time, so
dont sit around waiting.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Plasma Wave Cannon is useful for destroying bomb blocks that are out of
reach.
,------------.
---| 12.3 Yo-Yo |--------------------------------------------------------------
`------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby puts on a blue baseball cap, with the visor part
facing backwards.
HELPER TYPE: Gim.
WHICH GAMES: Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of Meta-Knight;
Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 5/5
Fun 4/5
Power 5/5
Protection 3/5
MOVES:
--- Y - Yo-Yo Throw. Kirby throws the Yo-Yo and reels it back in.
--- Dash+Y - Break Spin. Kirby spins on his head like a top.
--- Up+Y - Up Throw Attack. Like Yo-Yo Throw, but upwards.
--- Down+Y - Down Throw Attack. Like Yo-Yo Throw, but downwards.
--- Forward+Y, near enemy, then Y or Forward+Y or Backward+Y - Hammer Drop.
Kirby wraps his Yo-Yo string around the enemy and pounds them into the
ground. Forward+Y causes him to pound the enemy onto the ground in front
of him, and Backward+Y causes him to pound the enemy onto the ground
behind him. Just Y will cause Kirby to default to the forward Hammer
Drop, and the Helper to the backward Hammer Drop. While holding the
enemy, Kirby is immobilized and invulnerable.
--- Down+Up+Y - Gazer Spiral. Kirby spins on his head on top of his Yo-Yo,
which somehow rises into the air with Kirby on it. ?
U-- B+Y - Aerial Yo-Yo Throw. Kirby throws the Yo-Yo and reels it back in.
U-- Dash+B+Y - Aerial Break Spin. Kirby spins on his head like a top.
U-- B+Up+Y - Aerial Up Throw Attack. Like Aerial Yo-Yo Throw, but upwards.
U-- B+Down+Y - Aerial Down Throw Attack. Like Aerial Yo-Yo Throw, but
downwards.
MOVESET NOTES:
- The Yo-Yo is the physical weapon with the longest range. It is also one of
the most powerful weapons, and one of the somewhat faster ones. It is useful
for reaching things that are otherwise nearly inaccessible. It is also
useful on bosses because of its strength. Useful on Marx because he moves
around so much.
,-----------.
---| 12.4 Bomb |---------------------------------------------------------------
`-----------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Blast your enemies to bits! Take accurate aim and throw carefully. Your throw
will be controlled by Y.
GET FROM: Poppy Bros. Jr. (inhale/copy); Poppy Bros (inhale/copy); Hands bombs
(in Twin Cannon battle) (inhale/copy); Bomber (inhale/copy); Bomb
Pedestal (item).
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 2/5
Fun 1/5
Power 5/5
Protection 2/5
MOVES:
In other words, the longer you hold Y when using Throw a Bomb, the higher the
trajectory of the bomb.
--- Y - Hold a Bomb. Kirby pulls out a bomb and holds it. Kirby cannot fly.
The bomb will explode soon if not disposed of.
--- Y, after Hold a Bomb - Throw a Bomb. Kirby throws the bomb. The angle
depends on how long you pushed Y. A small cursor appears in front of
Kirbys face to show you the angle youre using, so make sure to look at
that.
--- Y, near an enemy - Set a Bomb. Kirby pulls out a bomb, hands it to the
enemy, who looks surprised, then braces himself and covers his head with
his hands (looks like hes plugging his ears, though he doesnt have any)
until the bomb explodes! :D You have to be right next to the enemy
though. Also hell only brace himself if hes REALLY right next to the
enemy. -_-
--- Down+Y - Drop a Bomb. Kirby places a bomb on the ground. It cannot hurt
him.
--- Dash+Y, after Hold a Bomb - Straight Bomb Throw. Kirby hurls the bomb
straight forward. Long range.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Throw a Bomb is one of the most powerful moves in Kirby Superstar along with
Hammer Nail, Plasma Wave Cannon, Copy, etc. It is very useful on minibosses
if you can dish it out fast enough. It is also useful against the Computer
Virus, if you dont have the Hammer ability.
,------------.
---| 12.5 Sword |--------------------------------------------------------------
`------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
The King of weapons! Fire beams from the tip of your sword. Become a master by
practicing multi-sword attacks.
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 4/5
Fun 4/5
Power 3/5
Protection 4/5
MOVES:
MOVESET NOTES:
- Quickly repeated Aerial Chops are useful for blocking projectiles (i.e. Dyna
Blades bad breath). Also, Aerial Chop is useful against things that are
moving toward you, because you rebound into the air after using it. It has a
special rhythm that you can learn to use to your advantage.
- Chop & Beam, because of its medium range and no charge time, is useful
against fast-moving bosses (such as Fatty Whale).
,-----------.
---| 12.6 Fire |---------------------------------------------------------------
`-----------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Use Dash and Y to hurl burning fireballs. You can light fuses, candles, and
even yourself to become a mega-powerful weapon.
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby gains a red coronet that flashes with heat and has a
green gem on the front. Kirbys body also turns red, though his
feet stay the same color.
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 5/5
Fun 4/5
Power 4/5
Protection 5/5
MOVES:
--- Y/Hold Y - Fire Blow. Kirby blows fireballs. Short range. Press and hold
the Control Pad away from Kirby to lengthen the range. Press and hold the
Control Pad towards Kirby to shorten the range. Once the range is short
enough, Kirby will catch on fire. This acts like a shield. You can also
influence the path of the fireballs up or down by pressing Up or Down.
--- Dash+Y - Burning Attack. Kirby turns into a fast-flying fireball.
--- B+Y - Fireball Spin. Kirby becomes a fireball while in the air.
--- Y just before landing - Fireball Roll. Kirby lands, turns into a
fireball, and quickly rolls forward a short distance.
U-- Dash+B+Y - Aerial Burning Attack. Like Burning Attack, but in the air.
Youll fall in a gentle arc.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Fire Blow can be used to light candles and fuses for cannons.
- Burning Attack can be used to power through invincible enemies such as those
spiky black things without getting hurt. Useful in order to get to some
secret areas.
,-----------.
---| 12.7 Wing |---------------------------------------------------------------
`-----------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Amaze your friends! Toss your enemies into the air and throw them for the
Shuttle loop.
ABILITY OBJECT: Gourmet Race; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 3/5
Fun 5/5
Power 2/5
Protection 2/5
MOVES:
MOVESET NOTES:
- Flutter is useful for dangerous places such as the lava tunnels in Hotbeat in
Milky Way Wishes. It can also be used for a quicker alternative to flying.
,-------------.
---| 12.8 Cutter |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
The Cutter can cut anything in its [sic] path. Use it to cut down enemies, as
well as ropes that get in your way.
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby gains a weird hat. It looks like this: Someone cut
off the top half of a ducks head, then put small wings on the
sides and a stylized crest on the top. o_O
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 3/5
Fun 4/5
Power 2/5
Protection 3/5
MOVES:
MOVESET NOTES:
- Any of Cutter Kirbys moves can be used to cut the strings that are holding
up various platforms found throughout Kirby Superstar. Sometimes this is
useful, especially in the Great Cave Offensive.

***NORMAL ABILITY***
ABILITY OBJECT: The mirror wand that is used for the various Mirror moves.
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 3/5
Fun 4/5
Power 3/5
Protection 5/5
MOVES:
MOVESET NOTES:
- Reflect Guard is a very, very useful special shield. It can deflect most
light projectiles back at the enemy as well as protecting Kirby from other
attacks. Also it looks cool! :P
,------------.
---| 12.10 Beam |--------------------------------------------------------------
`------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Use the Beam attack against enemies! Fire the beam by pressing Y. This is a
very handy and useful ability.
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby turns pale orange, and gains a jesters cap. One side
of it is orange with white polka-dots. The other side is plain red.
Kirbys feet are also a bit more vibrantly colored. :)
HELPER TYPE: Waddle Doo.
ABILITY OBJECT: The beam-scepter used for the various Beam moves.
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 3/5
Fun 3/5
Power 3/5
Protection 3/5
MOVES:
--- Y Beam Whip. Kirby swings down a beam of star-like energy particles or
something in front of him. Short range.
--- Dash+Y Cycle Beam. Kirby uses his beam-scepter to spin a vortex of blue
particles in front of him for a short while.
--- Dash+B+Y Beam Machine Gun. Kirby points his beam-scepter diagonally
down and forward, and shoots a barrage of star-shaped energy particles.
--- Forward+Y, near enemy, then Y Capture Beam. Kirby appears to grab the
enemy by the lapels, so to speak, then propels them forward and up with
a beam from the scepter. While holding the enemy, Kirby is immobilized
and invulnerable.
--- Hold Y, then release Wave Beam. Kirby gathers energy into his
beam-scepter, then releases two large balls of energy that seem to orbit
each other while they both blast directly forward.
U-- B+Y Aerial Beam Whip. Same as Beam Whip, but in the air.
U-- B+Hold Y, then release Aerial Wave Beam. Same as Wave Beam, but in the
air.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Wave Beam is a fairly powerful move if you dont have any of the real
damage-dealing abilities. Its actually a surprise to find a somewhat
powerful move in this low-level abilitys moveset.
- Beam Machine Gun will actually make you jump higher if you use it during your
jump. It can be useful to avoid the annoyance of having to fly just a bit
higher. Just jump higher instead!
,---------------.
---| 12.11 Fighter |-----------------------------------------------------------
`---------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Copy the abilities of Fighter and assume the role of a mighty karate expert.
Increase your power with practice!
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 5/5
Fun 5/5
Power 5/5
Protection 4/5
MOVES:
In other words, there are tap and press attacks, the latter being stronger
than the former.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Rising Break can be used as a fast jumping technique, especially since it can
be repeated endlessly. It is also a very powerful move against small enemies
(not bosses) because normal enemies will get juggled on the tip of the
rising break. Almost any normal enemy will die instantly this way.
- Vulcan Jab is a nice move to use at medium range because it can be used
endlessly with no lapses.
,---------------.
---| 12.12 Parasol |-----------------------------------------------------------
`---------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Protect Kirby from enemies above! Splash, drill, or toss your enemies to the
sky! A lot of possibilities with the Parasol.
GET FROM: Parasol Waddle Dee (inhale/copy); anything else with a parasol
(inhale/copy); a parasol by itself (inhale); Parasol Pedestal
(item).
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Gourmet Race; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive;
The Revenge of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 5/5
Fun 4/5
Power 4/5
Protection 4/5
MOVES:
--- Y Parasol Swing. Kirby brings his parasol down so that it is facing
forward. This releases a small spray of water that can also hurt enemies.
Short range.
--- Hold Y Parasol Shield. Kirby does Parasol Swing, then holds the
parasolthere while rotating it. This blocks most attacks.
-W- Dash+Y, OR Y, underwater Parasol Drill. Kirby rushes forward and stabs
with the parasol. Two star-shaped things rotate around the parasol for a
second, too, and they can also damage enemies.
-W- B+Down+Y, OR, Down+Y, underwater Parasol Dive. Kirby dives down and
forward with the parasol going before him. Stars rotate around the
parasol, and both they and the parasol can damage enemies.
--- Forward+Y, near enemy Parasol Roll. Kirby grabs the enemy and puts it
on top of his parasol. Then he bounces it up and down a bit, finally
flinging it into the air.
--- B+Up Parasol Chute. Kirby floats down using the parasol as a parachute,
instead of falling.
U-K Any aerial move Auto Parasol Chute. After doing any aerial Parasol
move, Kirby will use Parasol Chute automatically.
U- Down, after Parasol Chute Cancel Parasol Chute. Kirby stops floating
and falls like usual.
U-- [nothing] Sky Defense. Anything that touches your parasol at any time
(except underwater when its closed) will get hurt.
U-- L/R Parasol Guard. Like normal Guarding, except that Kirby holds his
parasol over himself.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Parasol Chute can be useful for navigating in the air, since it allows you to
fall more slowly. However, flying, though somewhat unwieldy, will let you
not fall at all, so maybe this isnt as useful as I though...
- Parasol Kirby, amazingly, can use not one but TWO of his normal moves
underwater. Use this to your advantage.
- Sky Defense makes coconut bombs totally useless. :) Also anything else trying
to dive-bomb you.
,-------------.
---| 12.13 Stone |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Transform Kirby into various stone figures and smash the enemies.
GET FROM: Rocky (inhale/copy); stones that drop from Wham Bam Rock (inhale);
Stone Pedestal (item).
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 1/5
Fun 2/5
Power 5/5
Protection 5/5
MOVES:
--- Y Stone. Kirby turns into one of various objects, including 1) an 8-ton
weight; 2) a brown rock with a gold star on it; 3) a small stone Kirby
statue; 4) a giant statue of a musclebound man with his arms at his sides
(rare); 5) a giant statue of a musclebound man with his arms in the air
(extremely rare); or 6) a small purple rock with what seems to be a face
with its eyes closed. Kirby becomes invulnerable and immobile.
--- B+Y Stone Smash. Kirby turns into a stone as described above, and falls
rather hard on whatever is below him. If its an enemy, it gets
pulverized. The stone also emits stars to the left and right when it
lands, which can also hurt enemies or break star blocks, etc.
--- Dash+Y Turbo Stone. Kirby rushes forward and turns into a stone as
described above, sliding forward a little, thereby hurting any enemy
thats very, very close by.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Stone Smash can be used to sink through water that has a strong upward
current. This is useful in many places, including the Great Cave Offensive,
in which you need to use it to get to a certain treasure (namely #42, Gold
Crown).
,-------------.
---| 12.14 Wheel |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Roll over your enemies! Call a helper and ride the Wheel. Watch out for thorns
and dont speed!
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby puts on a red baseball cap. The visor part is facing
backwards.
WHICH GAMES: Gourmet Race; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of
Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 4/5
Fun 3/5
Power 3/5
Protection 3/5
MOVES:
--- Y Dash. Kirby turns into a wheel and starts rolling forward pretty
fast, killing most minor enemies. He can also roll along the surface of
bodies of water.
--- B, while Dashing Brake. Kirby slows down.
--- Backward, while Dashing Turn. Kirby changes direction and heads back
the way he came.
U-- B+Y Aerial Dash. Same as Dash, but begins in the air. Once Kirby lands
on the ground he proceeds to Dash.
U-H Have any Kirby jump onto a Wheelie helper Wheelie Ride. Kirby and his
helper merge to become Wheelie Rider Kirby (see section 12.24). Any type
of Kirby can do this, its just that the helper needs to be a Wheelie.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Dash can be used to get through small enemies fast, but apart from that...
well lets just say that Wheel Kirby is only really useful because he can
become Wheelie Rider Kirby.
,-----------.
---| 12.15 Jet |---------------------------------------------------------------
`-----------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Turn Kirby into a dangerous Jet. Store Jet power by holding Y. The more power
you store, the more powerful the attack.
WHICH GAMES: Gourmet Race; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of
Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 5/5
Fun 5/5
Power 2/5
Protection 3/5
MOVES:
NOTE: Partial charge means the jetpack is still blowing steam. Full charge
means that the jetpack is no longer blowing out as much exhaust, and Kirby has
started flashing. The sound of the jetpack doesnt matter. As soon as Kirby
starts flashing, hes fully charged.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Save Stored Power is very useful because it allows you to 1) use Ultra-Jet
Jump; and to 2) use Jet Dash or Aerial Jet Dash with almost no charge time.
- Hover is useful to fly more quickly and more stably.
,--------------.
---| 12.16 Suplex |------------------------------------------------------------
`--------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
WHICH GAMES: Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of Meta-Knight;
Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 4/5
Fun 5/5
Power 3/5
Protection 4/5
MOVES:
--- Y Dash Capture. Kirby dashes forward, trying to grab the enemy. If he
misses, he fumbles for a second. Otherwise, he grabs the enemy. This move
can capture almost anything that can hurt you including the stars spit
out by anemones, as well as coconut bombs, Sir Kibbles cutters, etc.
--- Dash+Y Turbo Dash Capture. Same as Dash Capture, except faster.
--- Y, in the air Aerial Dash Capture. Same as Dash Capture, except in the
air.
--- Forward, after Capture, on ground Pile Driver. Kirby jumps forward and
slams the enemy down onto the ground ahead of him.
--- Backward, after Capture, on ground German Suplex. Kirby bends over
backwards and slams the enemy into the ground behind him.
--- Up, after Capture, on ground Back Breaker. Kirby crouches down, then
springs up, propelling the enemy upward and forward.
--- Down, after Capture, on ground Body Slam. Kirby throws the enemy down
onto the ground directly in front of him.
--- Y, after Capture, on ground Lariat. Kirby holds out the enemy and
punches it once, heavily.
--- B, after Capture, on ground Jumping Body Slam. Kirby leaps into the
air, does a forward flip, and slams the enemy onto the ground.
--- Y, IMMEDIATELY after Capture, on ground or in air Quick Stamping. Kirby
jumps on top of the enemy and repeatedly kicks them from above for
several seconds.
--- Up or Forward or Backward, after Capture, in air Air Body Slam. Kirby
throws the enemy up and forward.
--- Down or Y, after Capture, in air Air Body Down Slam.
U-- B, after Capture, in air Aerial Jumping Body Slam. Same as Jumping Body
Slam, but Kirby jumps starting from mid-air in the first place.
--- Down+Y, in air Pinpoint Kick. Kirby kicks downward. If he connects, he
rebounds off the object he hit.
MOVESET NOTES:
- All of Suplex Kirbys post-Capture moves are equally powerful. Try them all!
,--------------.
---| 12.17 Hammer |------------------------------------------------------------
`--------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Break through solid obstacles and pound in stakes to take Kirby to hidden
areas.
WHICH GAMES: Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of Meta-Knight;
Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 4/5
Fun 5/5
Power 5/5
Protection 3/5
MOVES:
--- Y Hammer Nail. Kirby pounds the ground in front of him with the hammer.
--- Dash+Y Hammer Swing. Kirby curls up on the ground and spins forward
with the hammer rotating around him on a horizontal (XZ) plane.
-W- B+Y Giant Swing. Kirby curls up in the air and spins in place with the
hammer rotating around him on a vertical (XY, not YZ) plane.
--- Dash+B+Y Ultragiant Swing. Just like Giant Swing, but faster.
--- Up+Y Hammer Flip. Kirby powers up his hammer, then swings it in an
uppercut.
--K Dash+A Hammer Throw. Kirby does a Hammer Swing, but at the end of it he
lets go of the hammer. This causes him to revert to Normal Kirby, but it
also deals a lot of damage to anything the flying hammer hits.
--- L/R Hammer Guard. Same as a normal guard, except Kirby holds a hammer
over his head.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Hammer Throw can be repeated endlessly in Milky Way Wishes, since you can
always regain your ability. This means you can kill bosses rather easily
since you can use Hammer Kirbys kamikaze attack multiple times.
- Hammer Nail is the only move that can be used to pound wooden stakes into the
ground. This can often unlock secrets, etc. Its also a very powerful move
against enemies.
,-------------.
---| 12.18 Ninja |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Copy the famous Japanese Ninja to hide in shadows and vanish into the
darkness!
WHICH GAMES: Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of Meta-Knight;
Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 3/5
Fun 4/5
Power 3/5
Protection 3/5
MOVES:
MOVESET NOTES:
- Ninja Kick, like Pinpoint Kick, can be repeated over and over because Kirby
will rebound to almost the exact same spot he originally kicked from, or at
least in the opposite direction from the direction he kicked towards.
- Stick To Wall and Triangle Jump are particularly useful for cautious
maneuvering in vertical shafts, such as the shaft in the Great Cave
Offensive which you need to climb down, but not touch the bottom of, in
order to get the Triforce treasure (#60).
,------------.
---| 12.19 Copy |--------------------------------------------------------------
`------------
***NORMAL ABILITY***
Copy enemies abilities without fighting! The helper will also be able to copy
abilities!
WHICH GAMES: Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of Meta-Knight;
Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 2/5
Fun 3/5
Power 4/5
Protection 3/5
MOVES:
--K Y Analyze Beam. Kirby reaches over his head and pulls over a
weird-looking visor. He then proceeds to scan in front of him. If the
scanning beam touches an enemy that possesses an ability, he scans it and
becomes that type of Kirby. If there is an enemy that does not possess an
ability, it gets hurt by the scan. Kirby cannot become Copy Kirby again
by discarding the ability. While Kirby is scanning the enemy, time stops
for a brief second.
-WH Y Sneaky Hand. The helper (TAC) reaches out with a disembodied claw. If
it touches an enemy with an ability, it becomes that same type of helper.
However, the helper can push A to discard its ability and become a TAC
again. This means that while the TAC is in a different form, it cannot
warp to where Kirby is, except automatically.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Analyze Beam and Sneaky Hand are both good tools against bosses, especially
bosses with abilities, in Milky Way Wishes, because the copy ability can
always be regained with the X menu or the Start menu.
,------------.
---| 12.20 Cook |--------------------------------------------------------------
`------------
***ONE-TIME ABILITY***
When Kirby needs an energy boost, cook up some gourmet enemy soup. Cook is a
one course meal.
SCORE:
Useful 1/5
Fun 5/5
Power 5/5
Protection 1/5
MOVES:
--K Y Cooking Power. Kirby does a little routine. He puts on a chefs hat,
then nods. A GIANT pot drops out of nowhere. Kirby claps a spatula and a
pan together. All enemies on the screen jump into the pot! This includes
things like the stars that anemones shoot out, or the cutter boomerangs
that Sir Kibbles use. Then Kirby lights a fire under the pot, and begins
stirring it, adding salt liberally. After a couple of seconds, various
food items jump out of the pot and onto the ground! Kirby becomes Normal
Kirby.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Kirby cannot create a Cook Kawasaki helper.
- Cooking Power, when used, causes Kirby to revert back into Normal Kirby.
,-------------.
---| 12.21 Paint |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
***ONE-TIME ABILITY***
GET FROM: Colored balls that Chameleo Arm spits out (inhale); small blobs that
Heavy Lobster spits out (inhale).
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby puts on a gray baseball cap. The visor part is facing
backwards.
WHICH GAMES: The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of Meta-Knight; Milky Way
Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 5/5
Fun 1/5
Power 5/5
Protection 1/5
MOVES:
U-K Y Paint Blast. Kirby jumps up into the air and holds out a paintbrush,
which somehow spatters paint everywhere for no reason. This does heavy
damage to enemies and bosses. Kirby becomes Normal Kirby.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Kirby reverts to Normal Kirby after using Paint Blast.
- Kirby cannot create a helper.
,------------.
---| 12.22 Mike |--------------------------------------------------------------
`------------
***ONE-TIME ABILITY***
When Kirby sings, everybody plugs their ears! Youre able to use the Mike
three times.
GET FROM: Enemy that looks like a walking microphone and sings crooked music
notes at you (inhale/copy).
SCORE:
Useful 2/5
Fun 4/5
Power 5/5
Protection 1/5
MOVES:
--K Y (1st time) Megaphone. Kirby puts on a hat and uses a megaphone to
scream, ear-piercingly. >_< Damages and usually kills all enemies on
screen.
--K Y (2nd time) Desk Mike. Kirby puts on a headset and uses a microphone
(the kind thats on a horizontal swivel axis you know?) to shout
something that sounds like DEDIYAAAA! (?) Slightly more powerful than
Megaphone.
--K Y (3rd time) Stand Mike. Kirby suddenly sprouts a red, yellow, and
green Mohawk, and uses a standing microphone (leaning waaay forward) to
shout something that sounds like SHISTAAAAW (?) Slightly more powerful
than Desk Mike.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Kirby cannot create a Mike helper.
- After Kirby uses Stand Mike, he loses the Mike ability and reverts to Normal
Kirby.
,-------------.
---| 12.23 Crash |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
***ONE-TIME ABILITY***
Blow all the enemies away with one HUGE explosion. Its a one time chance, so
use it wisely.
GET FROM: Crash Bomb (walking bomb with a skull on it) (inhale/copy); Evil Cat
(floating orange cat heads) (copy).
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes.
SCORE:
Useful 3/5
Fun 3/5
Power 5/5
Protection 1/5
MOVES:
--K Y Crash Ability Crash Fire Ball. Kirby braces himself and frowns
hard. Suddenly four lightning bolts stretch from Kirby to the corners of
the screen, and a huge explosion starts expanding from Kirbys position.
Rocks even start flying up into the air. (Could this be a parody of Final
Fantasy VIs Ultima move?) Kills any enemies on the screen, except
bosses. Also dont ask me why this move has such a long and dumb name. :)
MOVESET NOTES:
- Kirby reverts to Normal Kirby after using Crash Ability Crash Fire Ball.
- Kirby cannot create a helper.
,---------------------.
---| 12.24 Wheelie Rider |-----------------------------------------------------
`---------------------
***SUPERIMPOSED ABILITY***
With a partner or alone, Wheelie Rider will be a great ride! When riding
double, use teamwork to race past the bad guys!
GET FROM: Wheelie helper (jump onto). Depending on whether the helper was CP or
2P, Wheelie Rider will have different moves, as you can see below.
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Wheelie Rider Kirby simply looks like Kirby, sitting on top
of a Wheelie, and wearing aviators headgear (i.e. a skintight
leather cap that covers his head, as well as goggles that
(unfortunately) he is not wearing).
WHICH GAMES: Gourmet Race; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of
Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 4/5
Fun 5/5
Power 4/5
Protection 4/5
MOVES:
In other words, Wheelie Rider Kirby can somehow drive up ladders, make his
wheelie-vehicle crouch, and even slide-kick with it. o_O
MOVESET NOTES:
- Star Shooter makes using the Wheelie Rider a lot different for both players.
It is also a pretty unique way for two people to play Kirby Superstar
rather than playing separate characters, you can coperate to control one
character.
- Obviously, you cannot create a Wheelie Rider helper, since Wheelie Rider is
composed of Kirby and a helper as well.
- In order to revert to Kirbys underlying ability, he should use Get Off The
Bike.
,----------------.
---| 12.25 Shooting |----------------------------------------------------------
`----------------
***SUPERIMPOSED ABILITY*** (At least I assume it is, though you stay Shooting
Kirby for the entire level)
Ride the Starship, made from star power, into the heart of NOVA in order to
stop MARXs evil plan to takeover [sic] Dream Land!
GET FROM: You only get this ability during the last part of Milky Way Wishes,
when youre flying through the inside of Nova.
SCORE:
Useful 5/5
Fun 5/5
Power 5/5
Protection 1/5
MOVES:
--K D-Pad Move. Kirbys Starship will move in the direction specified,
which can be any of the four cardinal directions (Up, Down, Left, Right),
or secondary directions (Up+Left, Up+Right, Down+Left, Down+Right).
--K A, B, X, or Y Star Shooter. Kirby shoots a star bullet forward from the
Starship (toward the right hand side of the screen), which travels the
length of the screen. He also creates two small shockwaves that travel in
the upper right and lower right directions, but only for short distances.
Long/Short range, respectively.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Star Shooter is limited in that it can only protect you from enemies toward
the right hand side of the screen. The only way to destroy something to the
left of you is to move left until it is to the right of you. This is
sometimes somewhat hard in the Heart of Nova boss battle.
- Kirby cannot create a helper.
,------------------.
---| 12.26 Underwater |--------------------------------------------------------
`------------------
***SUPERIMPOSED ABILITY***
[the in-game menu shows only the info for the underlying Kirby ability that you
will get back when you are no longer Underwater Kirby]
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby is constantly doing the armstroke, except when moving
upward, when hes doing the breaststroke. He is wearing a snorkel
mask and snorkel. Strangely, he emits bubbles, but never needs to
breathe... o_O
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Gourmet Race; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive;
The Revenge of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes.
SCORE:
Useful 3/5
Fun 2/5
Power 2/5
Protection 2/5
MOVES:
UW- D-Pad Move. Kirby swims around, though swimming up is a bit hard. Kirby
is also influenced by water currents. You can notice what direction the
current is flowing by watching the random streams of bubbles that appear
out of nowhere. They flow in the same direction as the current.
UW- B Swim Upward. Kirby swims upward with more alacrity than when just
using the D-Pad. This is necessary because Kirby does sink, strangely
enough.
UWK Y, or D-Pad+Y Water Gun. Kirby shoots a water gun in the direction
specified. If you do not use the D-Pad, Kirby will shoot in the direction
that he is currently facing, and then turn to whichever of the directions
right or left that he was facing before he was facing up or down. Hmm...
that sounds a bit unclear... hopefully youll know what Im talking about
when you try it... >_< NOTE: MANY UNDERLYING KIRBY FORMS OVERRIDE THIS
MOVE WITH ONES NATIVE TO THEIR OWN MOVESETS! For example, if Sword Kirby
pushes Y underwater, he does Sword Spin instead of Water Gun.
UW- Up, at the surface of the water Jump Out. Kirby jumps out of the water
and reverts to his underlying ability.
MOVESET NOTES:
- When aiming Water Gun, be careful not to accidentally steer into underwater
enemies such as fish and octopi.
- Kirby cannot create a helper, though a helper can get the Underwater form
superimposed on them. Such a helper cannot use Water Gun, though, but
instead will use their normal moves.
- To revert to the underlying ability, use Jump Out to get out of the water.
,-------------.
---| 12.27 Super |-------------------------------------------------------------
`-------------
***SUPERIMPOSED ABILITY***
[the in-game menu shows only the info for the underlying Kirby ability that you
will get back when you are no longer Super Kirby]
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes.
SCORE:
Useful 5/5
Fun 5/5
Power 5/5
Protection 5/5
MOVES:
U-- Do anything the underlying ability can do Touch Of Death. Yes, I stole
that name from Kid Radd. :D Anyway, whenever Super Kirby or a Super
helper touches any normal enemy (as well as most minibosses), the enemy
dies. You can use all the underlying abilitys moves at the same time.
MOVESET NOTES:
- After a while, Super Kirby will automatically turn back into the underlying
ability. There is no way to accelerate this (why would you want to,
anyway?).
- Super Kirby and Super helpers can move faster than usual.
- Kirby cannot create a helper, since Super is simply a superimposed ability.
(Ooo, alliteration! Consonance even! @_@)

MOVES:
(Please see the Getting Started section (section 4) for more information.
Normal Kirbys moves are simply the basic maneuvering controls that are
described in Section 4 of this FAQ.)
MOVESET NOTES:
- In Milky Way Wishes, you cannot gain abilities by inhaling enemies, except
for Cook, Paint, Crash, and Sleep.
- Kirbys different forms can use all of Normal Kirbys moves, except for
inhaling, helper-objectifying, swallowing, and spitting.
,---------------.
---| 12.29 Ouch! |-----------------------------------------------------------
`---------------
***MESSAGE ABILITY***
[This ability simply means that Kirby has just gotten hurt, and is currently
recovering. While hes still flashing, he has the Touch Of Death... er, I mean,
he can use Super Kirbys move, Touch Of Death, though he cannot move faster
than usual like Super Kirby does. The Ouch! ability isnt really an ability,
its just a message in the ability display box.]
,---------------.
---| 12.30 No Good |-----------------------------------------------------------
`---------------
***MESSAGE ABILITY***
[This ability simply means that Kirby tried to swallow something but it
didnt give him an ability. This happens with minor enemies in most games.
However, in Milky Way Wishes, Kirby cannot gain any abilities by swallowing
except for Cook, Paint, Crash, and Sleep. The No Good ability isnt really an
ability, its just a message in the ability display box.]
,---------------.
---| 12.31 Trolley |-----------------------------------------------------------

***SUPERIMPOSED ABILITY***
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby puts on a red miners cap. Meaning a miners cap that
is red, not the cap of a red miner! :)
SCORE:
Useful 3/5
Fun 5/5
Power 5/5

MOVES:
U-- Forward or Backward Roll. The trolley rolls forward (even if you press
backward on the D-Pad). It keeps going until it hits the bumper at the
other end of the track. Any enemy it touches on the way is destroyed
instantly. When it reaches the end of the track, Kirby jumps out and
reverts to his underlying ability.
U-- B Jump Out. Kirby jumps out of the trolley and reverts to his
underlying ability.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Trolleys are found very rarely, so dont get too excited about its
destructive capability. In the places you do find it, the only enemies
youll see are just token victims of the mighty Trolley, and one doesnt get
much satisfaction out of running them over... :S
- Kirby cannot create a Trolley helper, obviously.

---| 12.32 Warp Star |---------------------------------------------------------
`-----------------
***SUPERIMPOSED ABILITY***
GET FROM: Warp Star (the single kind, not the kind where theres two rotating
around each other) (jump onto).
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby is peering over the edge of the Warp Star, which he
is sitting on, along with his helper, if any. The Warp Star then
flies him away.
WHICH GAMES: Spring Breeze; Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge
of Meta-Knight; Milky Way Wishes; The Arena.
SCORE:
Useful 5/5
Fun 4/5
Power 5/5
Protection 5/5
MOVES:
MOVESET NOTES:
- You cannot control Warp Star Kirby. Once you get on a Warp Star, the Warp
Star does the work, taking you through a set pattern and depositing you at
the end of it (at which point you revert to your underlying ability). In
some cases, the Warp Star represents the end of the level.
- If you cant do anything at all, its hardly likely you can create a Warp
Star helper, isnt it? Well youre right, you cant. :)
,--------------.
---| 12.33 Cannon |------------------------------------------------------------
`--------------
***SUPERIMPOSED ABILITY***
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby peers out from the top of the cannon, wearing (oddly
enough) exactly the same hat as those small, virtually
indestructible enemies from the Megaman series (I forget what
theyre called).
WHICH GAMES: Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of Meta-Knight;
Milky Way Wishes.
SCORE:
Useful 5/5
Fun 3/5
Power ?/5
Protection ?/5
MOVES:
U-- Down Load. Kirby disappears from view, deep inside the cannon. Now, if
the fuse is lit, Kirby can blast out of the cannon to somewhere.
U-- Up, after Load Unload. Kirby reappears, having partially climbed out of
the cannon. Now he is peering over the side of the cannon. If the fuse
goes off at this point, Kirby will not go anywhere.
U-- B Jump Out. Kirby jumps out of the cannon and reverts to his underlying
ability.
U-- Light the fuse and Load Fire. Kirby will blast out of the cannon.
MOVESET NOTES:
- Its absolutely pointless to use Unload and its absolutely necessary to use
Load. That much is obvious, no? :)
- You can light fuses that lead to Cannons using the Fire or Jet abilities.
Make sure the fuse isnt blocked by anything.
- Some cannons misfire and hurt you, or dont do anything.
- Kirby can obviously not create a Cannon helper, since Cannon is a
superimposed ability.
- Kirby reverts to his underlying ability after being fired from the cannon, or
after using Jump Out to get out of the cannon in a less violent fashion. :)
,-------------.
---| 12.34 Sleep |-------------------------------------------------------------

***NORMAL ABILITY***
KIRBYS APPEARANCE: Kirby gains a green stocking cap with yellow stars on it.
He falls asleep and snores a bit, then wakes up with a surprised
look and a bit of saliva dripping out of his mouth. o_O He then
loses his cap and returns to Normal Kirby.
WHICH GAMES: Dyna Blade; The Great Cave Offensive; The Revenge of Meta-Knight;

| 13. Enemies / Items |
`---------------------
=======================
In this section, you will find lists of, and information about, enemies and
items. The first list is one of Normal Enemies / Helpers. This means all the
enemies you can swallow to get abilities from. The second list is one of Minor
Enemies. This means the various small enemies that dont give you any ability,
and exist only to annoy you. :) The third list is one of Bosses. This means,
obviously, bosses and minibosses that you encounter in the game. The fourth
list is one of Items. This means the various types of food, etc. that you
encounter throughout the game. All these lists will be sorted in order of
appearance.
PLEASE NOTE THAT I MADE UP ANY NAMES I COULD NOT FIND LISTED ANYWHERE IN THE
GAME. Please inform me if you know the correct or traditional names for these
enemies.

---| 13.2 Minor Enemies |------------------------------------------------------
`--------------------
This list contains the various minor enemies (ones without abilities) that
Kirby encounters over the course of Kirby Superstar. It doesnt include
minibosses or bosses those will be found in Section 13.3. All enemies are
listed in order of appearance in the game. Please note that in Milky Way
Wishes, the color schemes of the various enemies are altered.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Description A large, purple bee (or maybe a fly) that flies around.
Generally it has a few attack patterns. 1) It flies in
one direction, straight. 2) It flies in an up and down
motion while moving forward. 3) It slowly hovers down
while following you laterally.
Name Cutter
Description A small guy with a large stocking cap, that hops around
and does nothing. Looks similar to Poppy Bros. Jr. and
Choppy Bros. Jr., but does not attack. It only hops
around. Therefore I named it Hoppy Bros. Jr. :)
Sometimes it rolls on an apple instead of hopping
around, but if you kill the apple, it becomes a normal
Hoppy Bros. Jr. again.
Special Notes If it starts chewing you, its hard to get off, so kill
it fast.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Description A really weird yellow frog. You know how bullfrogs can
puff up their throats? Well this one is like that
constantly! Also it hops around as if it were dying.
Its insane.
Description A guy with a head that looks like the head of a panda.
He walks back and forth alarmingly fast. He can also
climb up walls. He throws Star Projectiles at you in
arcs.
This list contains the various minibosses and bosses (i.e. tough enemies that
appear out of a sparkling portal in midair) that Kirby encounters over the
course of Kirby Superstar. Bosses and/or minibosses that are found in the Arena
will be highlighted by a line of asterisks (*) at the top of the entry. All
(mini)bosses are listed in order of appearance in the game. NOTE: Ive changed
my mind about most of my boss strategies from two years ago. Youll find my old
strategies interspersed throughout the walkthroughs, which are two years old
themselves, whereas my new boss strategies can be found in this section, which
is completely new (as is most of section 12, and all of sections 13, 14, 16,
18, 19, and 20).
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Poppy Bros.
Behavior Pattern Basically he uses his huge feet to hop back and forth.
Every once in a while he will hop a long distance, so
watch out that he doesnt step on you. He will also
throw bombs at you in an arc. Often they are in
multiple spread (i.e. he throws more than one at a
time, and they all fall at different positions).
Sometimes he will also throw bombs directly forward. He
can also dash across the screen.
Strategies Since Poppy Bros. can move large distances with almost
no warning, as well as throw powerful bombs at you,
your best option is to shield for most of the time.
When hes on the other side of the screen and doesnt
seem to be doing anything, let loose your best
long-range attack on him. If he moves close to you and
stays there, then go to the other side of the screen
where he was before and continue using long-range
attacks and shielding.
Ability Bomb
Special Notes Pretty easy. Not much to worry about at all. Unless you
have an ability with only short-range attacks. Then you
might be in for a beating...
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Whispy Woods
Appearance A large apple tree. It has two eyes and a mouth, all
three made of holes in the wood, and a nose, which
seems to be a small branch. It also has another branch
in the back which serves no purpose, and one on the
side that has been cut off.
Ability Ice
Behavior Pattern The LoLoLo & LaLaLa battle is staged in an arena which
is composed of three shelves. The top shelf has a hole
in the middle, and the middle shelf has a hole on the
left and a hole on the right. Each shelf has two doors,
one on the left and one on the right. However, Kirby
cannot fit into these doors, only LoLoLo and LaLaLa
can. LoLoLo and LaLaLa each come out of one of these
doors and push either a large green ice cube or a Spiky
Invincible Thing across the shelf and into the other
door.
Strategies Simply try to stay on the one shelf that neither LoLoLo
nor LaLaLa is currently on. Once LoLoLo or LaLaLa has
passed you (horizontally), jump up or down to their
platform and attack them from behind until they go into
their doors. Repeat this until both LoLoLo and LaLaLa
die. Simple!
Ability N/A
Special Notes Here the only problem is getting underfoot. You have to
be agile to attack the boss while still not touching
it. But Id still rate it as pretty easy.
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Kracko
Behavior Pattern It can spit Waddle Doos out of its eye to harass you.
It can do a flying maneuver where it zigzags up and
down across the screen, and when it reaches the other
side, zooms along the ground back towards its original
position. It can fly across the top of the screen,
dropping bombs on you (in its eye form). It can use a
dual Beam Whip on you (in its cloud form). It can rain
on you (in its cloud form). It can draw a lightning
bolt across the ground, trying to hit you (in its cloud
form).
Strategies Either inhale its Waddle Doos and spit them back at it,
or better yet, if you have an ability that can grab and
throw enemies, such as Fighter or Suplex, throw the
Waddle Doos at it. If youre throwing the Waddle Doos,
you can take your time to aim because youre completely
invulnerable while youre holding on to the Waddle Doo.
If you have neither of these options at your disposal,
do this: If it spits out Waddle Doos, kill them. If it
does the flying maneuver, simply shield against it. If
it drops bombs on you, shield. If it uses Beam Whip on
you, run away. If it rains on you, shield. If it tries
to hit you with lightning, shield. Whenever you can,
attack it from a medium distance.
Special Notes A piece of cake if you use its Waddle Doos against it.
Otherwise it can be moderately difficult, especially
when it gets its lightning going.
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Bonkers
Ability Hammer
Special Notes The only thing there is to worry about when it comes to
this boss is that youll be a bit too gung-ho. Even
though he is really easy, he looks even easier, so be
careful that you dont go too far (or should I say
close?), or you could get hurt just by touching him.
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name King Dedede
Behavior Pattern Kirby and King Dedede are in a wrestling ring, facing
off. King Dedede can run at you and try to inhale you.
If he succeeds, he will spit you out at the wall, which
will hurt you. He can run at you and pound you with a
hammer. He can run and dive at you. He can rocket into
the air and slam down on you.
Ability N/A
Strategies Its stomping cant hurt you unless youre right next to
it, which you shouldnt be. Avoid the saucepan it
does have limited reach. Itll take half your health if
he fries you! Try to dodge the plates, because
shielding isnt that effective (unless you have Mirror
Shield). And when it walks around, avoid it. Simple!
Ability Cook
Location(s) Dyna Blade Area 1
Milky Way Wishes Cavios
Milky Way Wishes Mecheye
Milky Way Wishes Halfmoon
The Arena
Strategies Kill him, just like a normal enemy. @_@ Hell usually
die before he can do anything. An even easier way to
kill him is to inhale him! Yes, inhale him. Create a
helper, inhale him, and swallow to kill him. Then get
your ability back from your helper.
Ability N/A
Behavior Pattern He has one move: he dashes towards you using a rocket
he has hidden in his back. Then, he stabs at you
rapidly, multiple times, with his trident, which is
electrified. Ouch! Apart from that he just stands
there.
Ability N/A
Behavior Pattern He has two moves. 1) He will swing the mace around his
head a few times, then swing it waaay out, trying to
hit you. 2) He will walk forward, swinging the mace
back and forth. You do not want to be hit by either of
these moves, because they are quite damaging, even when
shielded against.
Ability N/A
Special Notes Though pretty easy by itself, Robot Mace Guy is usually
found in combination with others of its kind, as well
as with Robot Staff/Trident Guys or Zombie Axemen,
which makes it a bit harder to defeat them.
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Spiky Boxer
Behavior Pattern He can throw his hand at you, in any direction. He can
stomp. He can walk forward, pounding the ground with
his hands.
Strategies You can guard against him throwing his hand, but when
hes pounding the ground, you should try to avoid
getting hit at all. When he stomps, it doesnt matter.
Just attack from afar, as always.
Ability Fighter
Special Notes Hes slow-moving, and that makes him an easy target for
a practiced Kirby player. However, his moves do pack a
punch. Still, like most of the minibosses, hes pretty
easy.
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Bugzzy
Appearance A guy with long, hard ears that are more like the wing
covers of a beetle. He also has huge pincers on his
mouth.
Behavior Pattern He can jump up into the air and slowly hover down,
following you, trying to land on you. He can try to
dash at you (hell rear back, start flashing yellow,
then dash forward) and try to use Suplex ability
attacks on you (not good). He can produce two small
bugs that will fly toward you in an up-and-down
pattern. He can jump. And like almost every other
miniboss, he can walk around.
Strategies If he jumps into the air and slowly hovers down, just
walk around, making sure that youre not under him when
he finally falls to the ground. If he tries to dash at
you, jump over him when he does. This requires a bit of
timing, but its not too hard. It is necessary, though,
because you cant dodge it the dash can go the entire
length of the screen. If he produces two small bugs,
shield against them or, better yet, attack them. When
he jumps, ignore him. Attack him from afar, like usual.
Ability Suplex
Behavior Pattern She can fly up into the air and land heavily, causing
star-shaped shockwaves that can hurt you. Of course you
can also get hurt if she lands directly on you. She can
extend her head quite a long distance to try to peck
you. She can fly up into the air, and then swoop down,
trying to grab Kirby or the helper (if any). If she
succeeds, shell squeeze you a bit in her claws, which
does a lot of damage. She can spew small clouds of bad
breath at you. She can fly off the screen, then dive at
you from the background.
Note: Only her head and feet can hurt you if you touch
them. The rest of her body is completely harmless.
Ability N/A
Behavior Pattern He can slowly move across the screen, blowing a bunch
of water and rocks and occasionally a Goggle Fish out
of his blowhole. He can spin round and round and bounce
across the screen. He can jump in a huge arc from one
side of the screen to the other when he lands, he
creates a huge wave that will send you flying (dont
worry, it doesnt hurt the main problem is that rocks
and the occasional Goggle Fish start falling on your
head when you land). He can leap at you from the
background (he wont hit you though) and cause a huge
wave like before. He can poke his nose up in the middle
of the screen and do a flip.
Special Notes A pretty easy boss. Just remember to take your time and
dont take too many risks that way you wont get hit
by this boss, which is almost always moving.
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Computer Virus
Behavior Pattern First the Message window states [insert enemy name
here] appears! Then an enemy appears in the untitled
window. Its HP count appears in the Life window.
Whenever the enemy is about to attack you, the Message
window will say what the enemy is going to do. Whenever
Kirby is allowed to attack (the enemy is invulnerable
while in the window), the Message window will say
Kirby attacks! and the enemy will fall out of the
window onto the ground where you have about two seconds
to attack it. There are various different enemies. The
first time you fight Computer Virus, you face off
against Slime, Dancing Doll, and Witch. The second
time, and thereafter, youre faced with Witch, Evil
Knight, and Red Dragon.
Strategies Just shield when its not your turn, and attack with
maximum force when it is. Simple and effective.
Ability All (If you wait long enough, you can get any ability
from the pedestals that just randomly appear every
turn.)
Behavior Pattern He can extend his hand out pretty far, trying to grab
you. If he does so, he will slam you on the ground and
you will probably lose your ability. He can rush across
the ground, grabbing with his hands. He can shoot one
or three powerful Star Projectiles forward. He can rush
across the ground even faster than usual, grabbing with
his hands. He can jump into the air.
Ability Suplex
Special Notes Like most other single minibosses, this guy is not too
hard at all.
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Chameleo Arm
Behavior Pattern It can pound you with its fist (sometimes even multiple
times in quick succession). It can point at you with
two fingers, then retract one (i.e. pretend to shoot
you with its hand) instead of shooting you, it causes
small rocks to drop from the ceiling. It can reach down
and grab you, then crush you in its fist. It can try to
punch you from the side. It can drop its finger
segments on you (o_O) sometimes it can even pull its
finger segments back onto its hand after dropping them
(O_O). It can walk its fingers along the ground,
trying to flick you.
Strategies Ice is the best ability for Wham Bam Rock, I think,
because its easy to use Freezer Sprinkle to inflict
damage while at the same time dodging the hand. Also it
has a high rate of attack, especially with Freezer
Breath. Anyway, if the hand appears with the palm
facing right and the back of the hand facing left, just
move out of the way to avoid getting pounded. (Beware,
though, because after the hand pounds you, it spreads
out with the palm facing down, and can touch you that
way, so make sure to move pretty far away and not just
sidestep.) If it pretends to cock a gun at you, simply
shield. Youll get hurt a bit but its better than
trying to dodge a rain of rocks. If the hand appears
with the palm down, RUN because its trying to grab
you. However, if the hand appears with the palm down
and kinda moves around in a circle, its not going to
grab you, its going to drop its fingers on you (>_o).
If this happens, shield. And make sure to keep
shielding until the hand disappears, because you never
know if its going to bring its finger segments back up
through the floor (and through you). If a fist appears
at the side of the screen, RUN to the other side of the
screen (or jump) to avoid the punch. Each of Wham Bam
Rocks punches can reach across half the screen, so as
long as youre on the other half, you wont get hurt.
In fact, if you fight Wham Bam Rock enough to
accurately estimate where the fist is going to stop,
you become able to stand just beyond its reach and
attack it with Freezer Breath as it tries to punch you!
:) The punch is one of its most dangerous moves, but
even more dangerous is the finger-walking. If it starts
walking its fingers along the ground, you must fly
OVER the hand without letting it touch you. Theres no
other way to avoid it. And that hand is pretty tall, so
youd better press B pretty fast. :) And of course,
when youre not avoiding Wham Bam Rocks attacks,
attack it with everything youve got.
Ability Stone (from the rocks that fall from the ceiling)
Appearance A red helmet with four small red balls rotating around
its base, acting as feet of some sort.
Ability N/A
Location(s) The Revenge of Meta-Knight Halberd 1 (normal enemy)
The Revenge of Meta-Knight Halberd 2
The Revenge of Meta-Knight Halberd Interior
Milky Way Wishes Aqualiss (normal enemy)
Behavior Pattern The first time you meet it, within seconds youre blown
away because youre fighting inside the exhaust nozzle
of the Halberd, and they just fired up the engine.
Strategies The first time you meet it, just sit there and shield,
since youre going to get to escape from it within
seconds, thanks to the Halberds engines. Dont worry,
you get full health back once you get to the ground.
Ability Paint (from the blobs it produces from its claw once in
a while)
Special Notes Not too bad, not too bad at all. You can shield against
almost everything it can dish out, so youre pretty
much safe so long as you have a quick shield-finger,
IYKWIM. :)
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Twin Woods
Behavior Pattern Exactly the same as Whispy Woods, except now theres
two of them. They do have an extra move though they
can spin around and shake centipedes out of their
branches. Oddly, they can also shake bouncing Spiky
Invincible Things out of their branches, so watch out
for those too! Also, they can sometimes exchange
segments of their trunks a horizontal slice of the
tree detaches itself and flies through the air to the
other tree, which has also detached a cross-section of
its trunk which it has sent off the screen, and which
somehow magically reappears on the far side and goes
into the first tree. So watch out for that.
Ability N/A
Special Notes Somewhat more complicated than Whispy Woods alone, but
not really that much harder.
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Twin Cannon
Behavior Pattern The beam cannon takes a while to charge up, but once it
does, it sticks out a bit, then opens up its cap to
reveal a needle-thin nozzle inside. This seems to
gather energy, then shoot a powerful beam forward. Then
it waits for a bit before its ready to do that again.
The ball cannon points as close to you as it can get,
and shoots a cannon ball (or three in a row,
sometimes). Then the whole circular contraption turns
clockwise, presumably in order for Meta-Knights
minions to reload it. Then it does it again. The hand,
meanwhile, does two things. Either it can try to drop a
bomb on you, or it tries to grab you and pound you into
the ground. Later on in the battle, even the ground
youre standing on starts conspiring against you.
Whenever the beam cannon starts charging up, the floor
tile youre standing on suddenly lifts up off the
ground in order to bring you into the path of the beam.
All this stuff is happening at the same time.
Special Notes This is one of the hardest bosses in the game, along
with Dyna Blade and Nova. So many things are going on
at the same time that its a bit hard to keep track of
it all. Be careful.
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Halberds Reactor
Behavior Pattern It just sits there. Every once in a while, the guns
will fire their twin beam to the left. Every once in a
while, the flamethrowers will slide in from the right
and shoot a blast of fire upwards. And every once in a
while, the laser emitter will come down from the
ceiling, attempt to get a fix on you, and then fire a
reflect laser.
Ability N/A
Ability N/A
Ability N/A (you cant even try to inhale anything during this
battle!)
Special Notes This is one of the hardest bosses in the game. Its
very easy to die here, since just one hit takes a third
of your HP. Plus, things start speeding up after a bit,
too. Be careful.
_______________________________________________________________________________
*******************************************************************************
Name Marx
Strategies Whoa, this is a pretty tough one. Well the main thing
to remember here is: TAKE YOUR TIME. Dont take any
unnecessary risks. The music for this boss battle is a
bit gung-ho and epic too, so dont let that influence
you. :) On to the more specific strategies... If he
shoots out crescents... well these things are real
energy drainers. All I can say is, try to avoid them...
once you know hes doing it, though, its often too
late. Keep in mind, though, that if youre directly
below him, he cant usually hit you with those. If he
flies up into the sky and starts dropping seeds, just
sit there and shield. Keep shielding while the seeds
drop, keep shielding while the cacti grow, and dont
stop shielding until Marx comes back and is floating in
his usual position. If he goes offscreen and sticks his
head in - again, just sit there and shield. Wait for
him to finish wasting arrows. :) If he starts making an
odd face (youll know what I mean), theres two things
he could be getting ready to do: drop an ice bomb, or
create a black hole. If its that second one, youd
better run to a far corner of the screen and shield or
youll get sucked in for sure. But if it turns out to
only be an ice bomb, wait for it to land, then jump
over the shockwaves. If you shield against the
shockwaves, the shockwave will have an intense battle
with your shield (LOL) and slowly push you all the way
to the edge of the screen, which would make you lose
valuable time against Marx. If he does the HUMONGOUS
energy beam move (and theres practically no warning
when he does just that he appeared right next to you
instead of above you), FLY AWAY! FLY AWAY, PHOENIX! ...
Er... @_@ Sorry about that. Anyway, fly away, since
shielding against a beam of that magnitude just doesnt
work. You have to really be on the lookout to see it
coming, though. (Update oddly enough, if youre
inhaling while he fires off the beam, you are unharmed!
A bug, perhaps? o_O) Dont touch the beam at all, even
if its diminishing in size its not gone until its
gone. If he just teleports around randomly, just ignore
it and wait for him to stop. If he makes a black hole,
like I said before, run to the corner of the room and
shield, so that you dont get sucked in. As for his
laughing... well there seems to be no counter to that
attack except turning down your sound volume, which I
dont recommend, since in a game like this, its
important to hear the sounds enemies make it helps
you coordinate your attacks, even if only
subconsciously. Anyway, as you can see, the main
defense against Marx is shielding. And... Marxs base
of operations is in the air. So in order to attack him,
you usually need to leave the ground, but that means
you cant shield anymore... which is why I said to be
careful and to not take risks.
Behavior Pattern It just STANDS THERE. Its other move is having a lot
of HP. @_@

Kirby Superstar. All items are listed in order of appearance in the game.
Please note that many kinds of blocks have interchangeable appearances, so
sorry if the descriptions of various blocks seem a bit confusing.

Name Door
Special Notes You can share it with your helper by touching your
helper within seconds of consuming the Maxim Tomato.
You will both gain the full effect of the Tomato.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Name Food
Function/Use Kirby can inhale them and spit them back out as
weapons. Apart from that, theyre just obstacles. They
can be broken with practically any weapon at all, and
if you have no ability, just inhale and spit them out
again.
Name 1UP
Function/Use They mark the end of the level. When Kirby touches
them, he splits into three Kirbys (Spring Breeze only)
and does a little dance.
Name Water
Description Well... its water! What can I say? :)
Name Spikes
Name Ladder
Name Goal
Name Gateway
Special Notes There is a bug in the game you cannot enter Gateways
when youre standing exactly in the middle of them. You
must enter from the side.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Function/Use Kirby had better hurry and keep up with the screen,
otherwise hell get trapped and squashed!
Name Stake
Name Wind
Name Lava
Name Fuse
Function/Use Fire Kirby or Jet Kirby can light the fuse with their
respective abilities. If the fuse is connected to a
cannon, and if Kirby or a helper is in that cannon when
the spark on the fuse reaches the cannon, the cannon
will blast Kirby and/or the helper into another room.
Some cannons are faulty though, and hurt you instead.
Name Cannon
Name Switch
Function/Use If you push a nearby Switch, the wall will retract into
the ceiling for a few moments, enabling you to go past
it.
Name Swing
Function/Use Kirby cannot use this. If you hurt the enemy that was
using it, it will disappear and the enemy will become
like a normal enemy on the ground.
Description A small room with green walls and peaceful music (and a
cool view out the window). It contains a Save Platform
and a Switch that summons a Maxim Tomato.
Special Notes
_______________________________________________________________________________
Function/Use Kirby can cut the string that its hanging from in
order to get under the platform.
Name Trolley
Name Spring
Name Elevator
Name Electrocutor
Name Candle
Function/Use Kirby cant normally fly through clouds, but there are
certain paths in some clouds through which Kirby can
fly. They are marked by the Colored Stars, so look out
for them!
Description A sword, exactly like the one that Sword Kirby uses,
stuck in the ground, tip first. Above it are the words
GET IT! and an arrow pointing at it, all in flashing
large letters.
Special Notes Found only right before the battle with Meta-Knight.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Description Ice! Its ice! Like... frozen water! :) Im not talking
about the kind you make with the Ice ability. Its the
kind thats out there in the environment.

| 14. FAQ |
`---------
===========
In this section you will find questions about the game (Kirby Superstar) that
have been asked by readers. Readers of this FAQ that is. And by FAQ I mean this
entire file, not the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section... Isnt it
strange how all these files are called FAQs when theyre actually more like
informational articles, or Game Guides? FAQ implies a list of questions and
answers... the only place youll find those in this file are in this section
and in section 15 (FAQATFAQM). Check out the Contact section (section 19) to
find out how you can send in your own question. Please dont ask a question
thats already been answered somewhere in this FAQ (meaning the whole thing,
not just section 14 :D ).
[none so far]

| 15. FAQATFAQM |
`---------------
=================
What is FAQATFAQM? Its where youll find out the answer to that question!
Q: What is FAQATFAQM?
A: Frequently Asked Questions About This FAQ or Me. Actually this section is
sort of a joke right now... if I get any serious questions about the FAQ
itself, or about me or my work, Ill answer them here.
Q: Why do you like Kirby games? Theyre for extremely young children!
A: Hey, Im not an extremely young child, right? Besides, theres more to a
game than the graphics or the music. Case in point: ... er ... Kirby
games! Cant think of anything else. Damn! Anyway, you know what I mean.
Q: WAHAHAHA! You know whats ironic about your lame, pathetic, and stupid
three doors joke? [Editors note: See 8.1] The actual room with three
doors has _five_ doors! Whats with that!?
A: Uh... yeah. One door is the one you came from. Another leads to a Saving
Cabin. The other three lead to other areas of The Great Cave Offensive.
Hence, the room with three doors. Yet another usage! :) BTW, dont
insult my jokes. Lame, pathetic, and stupid they may be, but thats no
reason to say so! :P
Thats all the questions Ive got so far. And its been a few months... whats
up with that? Send me a question! :P See Section 19.

| 16. Version History |
`---------------------
=======================
This section contains descriptions of the various versions of this file since
its original creation. Version numbers are in the format A.B.C where A
increases by 1 every time I do a complete rehaul, B changes every time I add
some new feature, and C changes every time I fix a minor error or add a bit of
information. Every time B changes, C is reset to zero. Every time A changes, B
is reset to zero. A starts at one (because original creation is considered a
rehaul, I guess :) ), B starts at zero, and C starts at zero.
2.0.2 Incorporated some info about a secret room in Spring Breeze Bubbly
Clouds that I had not noticed before, thanks to A.J. Carrillo. Added an
alternative strategy for treasure #52, also from A.J. Carrillo.
0.9.0 ***UNPUBLISHED*** This was the original version. It was only 0.9
because I hadnt finished the Kirbys Forms section, nor had I done the
Enemies section, and was working toward a hypothetical 1.0 when suddenly
I lost access to this file (see section 0).

====================
Heres what you need to know about this file, legally speaking. Dont be
offended by the all caps text, please. I fully capitalized it not to seem as if
I were shouting at you but rather just to draw attention to it, and to make
sure that people actually read it. Thanks to Sayain for pointing out that some
people might see it otherwise. :)

Some guidelines for talking to me (@_@): Dont ask me to add you to my buddy
list, if youre the one who contacted me. I wont do it. After all, the reason
Ive put this contact info up here is so that people can talk to me about my
guides, not for lonely people to bombard me with small talk. :) I dont mind
talking to my readers on IM, but this contact section is not a Personals ad. If
you talk to me on IM after reading this FAQ, I expect that you want to talk to
me about my FAQ. That makes sense, doesnt it? Thanks.
Of course, remove the ALL CAPS stuff and extra @s, theyre antispam... la

| 20. Ending Note |
`-----------------
===================
Well, I thank you heartily for reading my first full FAQ/Walkthrough. I hope
you found it interesting, informative, and maybe a BIT funny...? In any case,
feel free to contact me with comments as per the information in section 19
(Contact). Im sorry about the sorta hurried feel of the The Revenge of
Meta-Knight and Milky Way Wishes walkthroughs... Ill try to redo them at some
point in the future. I hope you found an improvement between the two-year old
sections (the walkthroughs) and the newer sections (the other stuff). Hopefully
Ill be able to update the older sections at some point.
Please tell me if you found any errors in this FAQ (content, or just those
demoniac typos), or if you have anything to add that I missed.
If you liked my work, and want to see more, please take a look at my GameFAQs
CRP (Contributor Recognition Page):
Here is some info about this file, courtesy of Microsoft Word (as of right
before I converted it into plain text and added a bunch of spaces to replace
lost indentation keep in mind that this also include plain-text formatting
and so is probably waaaay off):
Spellchecker Statistics
Counts
Words 69814 Niiice... at least I never have
to write essays this long...
Characters 346876 Hmm, thats a lot less than the
filesize, though...
Paragraphs 4098 w00taciousness. Though I bet
most of that is headers and
stuff.
Sentences 5878 Whoa! Again, probably
headers...
Averages
Sentences per Paragraph 3.9 Wow! Thats less than I
thought... considering some of
the boss strategies... probably
the headers. :)
Words per Sentence 10.5 Again, the headers...
Characters per Word 4.2 Sounds right...
Readability
Passive Sentences 2% HAHAHA YESSS! :)
Flesch Reading Ease 73.1 Not bad, not bad at all...
Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level 5.5 WTF!? @_@ Must be the
headers... LOL
As you can see, thats a little sketchy... maybe Ill just stick with the final
KB reading for this file:
(note: I dont plan to update these statistics except at B-level updates of the
FAQ.)
Well! That was fun! Im glad I finally managed to finish this monster and send
it in. Now people can read it, and hopefully get something out of it! ^_^
Apart from that, I guess Im done mouthing off. :) Thanks for reading.
