ABSTRAK

Penutupan jalan dan lebuhraya masa kini telah menjadi lumrah dalam pengangkutan di kawasan
bandar membangun seperti Kuala Lumpur. Faktor utama penutupan jalan adalah untuk kerja- kerja
pembinaan, menaiktaraf, dan pembaikan jalan. Walaupun secara umumnya, penutupan adalah
untuk kebaikan pengguna pada masa hadapan, namun kesannya kepada pengguna mahupun
lalulintas tidak dapat dielakkan. Dalam kajian ini, Jalan Persekutuan Sungai Buloh yang berada di
Jajaran Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) dari arah Sungai Buloh ke Kota Damansara dijadikan kajian
kes berikutan penutupan lorong. Kajian ini penting bagi memberi gambaran sebenar sama ada
kesan penutupan lorong tersebut memberi impak yang besar atau sebaliknya kepada aliran
lalulintas di jalan bekenaan Justeru, kesan penutupan lorong di jalan ini dikenalpasti menerusi
kaedah pemerhatian di kawasan kajian serta analisis ciri-ciri aliran trafik seperti kelajuan, aliran,
ketumpatan serta tahap perkhidmatan jalan tersebut.
ABSTRACT

Nowadays, road and highway closure is considered as a normal disruption of transportation in


developing cities like Kuala Lumpur. Factors of closures are usually due to road construction,
upgrading works and repairing works. Although the purposes of road closure are to sustain the
service quality and safety to the user, yet it still affected the traffic flow on the connected roads
and the user. In this study, the impact of partial road closure at Sungai Buloh Federal Road in the
construction area of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) will be evaluated. The important of this study is
to identify how serious was the overall impact due to the partial closure of the road in term of
traffic flow. There are several methods of impact assessment of road closure to the traffic flow
which are observation of the traffic flow, analysis of traffic flow characteristic in terms of speed,
density, flow and determination of level of service (LOS).
