Conjunctions cards

Preparation

 Print out the beginnings cards on one colour of paper/card, the conjunctions
cards on a different colour and the endings cards on a different colour again.
 You will need one set of cards for every three students.
 You will also need quite a lot of floor/table space!

Procedure

1. Get students into threes and give out one set of cards to each group.
2. Students should spread out the conjunctions cards and the endings cards face
up on the table and put the beginnings cards in a pile, face down.
3. One student takes a beginnings card and reads it out.
4. The other two students compete to pick up a conjunction and an ending card to
complete the sentence. The quicker student to make a complete sentence wins
the cards. The others should be put back on the floor/table.
5. Play then continues to the left until all the cards have been used or no more
sentences are possible.
6. The student with the most points is the winner.
7. If not all the cards were used, students can play again, making different
sentences.
