ABSTRACT

Kubis (Brassica oleracea L.) is plant that used to treat various diseases including as anti-
inflammatory. This research aim is to study the anti-inflammatory activity of the juice of B. oleraca and its effect
on the leukocytes. The anti-inflammatory activity of the juice was determined through inflammatory test which is
induced by 1% carrageenan given interplanar using plethysmometer. The leukocytes test were carried out using
Automated Hematology Analyzer. Colected data were statistically analyzed using One Way ANOVA (Analysis of
Varience) and LSD (Least Significant Differences). Test on Antiinflammatory activity were used 30 white male
wistar which divided into 6 groups of treatment. Each group have been treated: Group I as normal control,
Group II as Negative control were administered with 1% sodium CMC, Group III as positive control were
administered with sodium diclofenac 4.32 mg/200g BW, and Group IV, V, VI as experiment groups were
administered with juice of B. oleraca dose 0.09g, 0.18g and 0.36g/200g BW, respectively. It can be concluded
that juice of B. oleraca has an anti-inflammatory effects. The optimal dose as an anti-inflammatory agent was at
dose III with highest percentage of inhibition was 75,62% and has influence on the levels of leukocytes.
