Instructions:

b) Access the internet using the search engine: Google

c) Read the The Apology II, by keying-in Reading for Philosophical Inquiry: A
Brief Introduction to Philosophical Thinking ver. 0.21: An Open Source Reader

d) Look for Plato and the title �Seek Truth Rather Than Escape Death� and click
its corresponding HTML icon. This should lead you to the page proper with bold
letters that say Chapter 5. �Seek Truth Rather Than Escape Death�, by Plato

e) In this essay, expound your ideas by taking into consideration the following
questions:

�Under Athenian law, one could not be prosecuted for a crime if it could be shown
that the action was done unwillingly, under duress, by threat of force, or from
ignorance. If Socrates� view is correct, how could anyone be responsible for his or
her actions? If one acts under the influence of passion or other non-rational
motives, is one morally responsible? Can one be �willfully ignorant� of the law?�

f) So use your internet skills. This essay must not be more than 800 words, but
not less than 150 words, double spaced, and should be printed in 8.5�x 11� bond
paper. Use 11-point font size for Arial. Do not use sliding folder when you submit
your work; use fastener. It must also have a title page. Format and style shall be
sent via your fb group account.

h) Submission venue: Faculty room, 2/F SAEC Bldg (Andaya bldg.), NOT in the
SocSci Dept. office of CAS.

i) LAST WARNING TO STUDENTS: Critical Essay 2 paper submitted and/or left on my


table at the SocSci Department of CAS will be marked LATE and shall be deducted 10
pts minimum. As I have repeatedly said, I will not be responsible for any lost
paper submitted in this manner.
