- Explain that they should write the notes of today’s lesson in the chart so that they are
able to see the definition of specific torts and the defenses of them (which we will be
discussing tomorrow)

- Describe what a tort is and that we will be discussing different kinds of torts and
defenses of them for the next two days

- Explain that negligence is a tort – What is negligence? What were the three stages
discussed yesterday?
- Discuss the different types of torts with examples
45 MIN o Occupiers Liability – invitees, licensees and trespasser
o Host Liability – commercial host, and social host
o Indirect Liability – vicarious, professional and motor vehicle
o Trespass to Persons and Land – trespass to person, and trespass to person’s
property
o Defamation of Character – libel and slander

20 MIN - Have students complete 4 case studies in their textbooks
- The last 10 minutes of class will be used to go over each case study and answers
