Chinese Government Scholarship-Graduate Program

Lanzhou Jiaotong University (LZJTU), located in Lanzhou, the capital city of

Gansu Province is the third railway college of China. LZJTU is a multidisciplinary,
comprehensive university with a wide range of disciplines covered, comprising the
engineering, technology, economy, management arts, agronomy and science of
laws. With an emphasis on engineering and transportation, the university has
outstanding achievements in the fields of Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering,
Vehicle Engineering, Railway Electrical Engineering, and Railway Transportation.
In addition, LZJTU offers a multitude of characteristic specialties in the fields of
motor cars, vehicles, signals, communications, and transportation. The university is
closely related to the development of China’s railway industry, and has trained a
large number of excellent engineers for the development of railway construction of
china.
LZJTU currently has three campuses, 29,694 full-time students, including
22,505 undergraduate students, 3,842 postgraduate students, 276 international
students and 1,569 full-time teachers. The university is the host university for
Chinese Government Scholarship students as well as the Demonstration Base for
Study in China. The university has already cultivated over 1800 international
students from 52 countries all over the world. International students possess a bright
and prosperous employment situation and graduates are mainly distributed in the
fields of Chinese enterprises, government departments, multinational corporations,
schools and so on.
LZJTU has officially opened admission for international students under the
Chinese Government Scholarship. For more specifications, please read the
following:

1. Admission Type:
 Graduate (3-year program)
1) If the applicant’s Chinese proficiency has not yet reached Lanzhou Jiaotong
University’s requirement for professional learning, one-year qualified Chinese
language study at this university is mandatory.
2) If the applicant is unable to complete their program of study in the allotted
 amount of time, a scholarship extension will not be permitted.
2. Admission Quota: 30
3. Disciplines and Majors:
All the disciplines and majors authorized to confer master’s and doctoral degrees
are available to international students. (refer to annex 1)
Mode of Schooling: Full-time.
4. Scholarship details
 Tuition, accommodation fees and comprehensive medical insurance are exempted
 Stipend: Master: 3,000 RMB / month
Doctor: 3,500 RMB / month
 Payment: Registration fee: 400RMB
Teaching materials: according to the actual situation
Dormitory deposit: 700 RMB
5. The Application Acceptance Period: January 1 to April 30.
6. Eligibility of Applicants
1) Applicants should be non-Chinese citizen and healthy;
2) Education background and age requirements:
 Applicants who apply for any master's degree program must have their bachelor's
degree, and be under the age of 35;
 Applicants who apply for any doctoral degree program must have their master's
degree, and be under the age of 40.
3) Recipients of other scholarships are ineligible.
7. Application Documents
Applicants must truthfully complete and submit the following application
materials:
(Duplicates of each document are required.)
1) Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (published by the
CSC), completed in Chinese or English; (available at
www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or www.campuschina.org)
2) Lanzhou Jiaotong University Application Form, completed in Chinese or
English in the Online Application System of School of International Education of
Lanzhou Jiaotong University (available at http://lzjtu.17gz.org);
3) Foreigner Physical Examination Form, completed in English; Applicants must
submit a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. (The applicant
should keep the original copy of this form.) The form designed by the Chinese
quarantine authority, is available at http://www.campuschina.org. The physical
examination must cover all the items specified by the Foreigner Physical
Examination Form. Incomplete records without the signature of the attending
physician, official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant
will be considered invalid. Please schedule your physical examination wisely, as
the result is valid for only 6 months;
4) Photocopies of Passport and Visa, as well as all immigration records in China
(if available);
 5) Highest Diploma Achieved (double authentication required); Documents in
languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translations in

6) Official Transcripts (double authentication required); Bachelor’s degree
program applicants must submit their high school transcripts. Master’s degree
program applicants must submit their undergraduate university transcripts.
Doctoral degree program applicants must submit postgraduate university
transcripts. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be
attached with translations in Chinese or English. If you have any questions

7) Two Letters of Recommendation, completed by applicant’s professors or
associate professors in Chinese or English;
8) A Study or Research Plan, completed in Chinese or English (with a minimum of
800 characters/words);
9) Published Papers and Awards Certificates, or any other documents that pertain
to academic achievement and research capacity (if available);
10) Certificates of Participation for social activities or events.
 Note:
a. No application materials will be returned, regardless of the outcome of the
application.
b. Applicants are expected to submit a complete set of application materials.
Incomplete application materials will not be considered.
c. All above application materials should be prepared to scan, and upload to
the online application system of Lanzhou Jiaotong University.
d. All paper application documents should be mailed to university by
express.
8. Application Procedures
Step1: Complete the online scholarship application form at
www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or www.campuschina.org.

 Agency Number of LZJTU is 10732.
Step2: Complete the online application and print out the Application Form for
Chinese Government Scholarship .Upload the scanned version of all
completed application documents and forms.
Step3: Complete the online scholarship application form at
http://lzjtu.17gz.org.and print out the Lanzhou Jiaotong University
Application Form. Upload the scanned version of all completed
application documents and forms.
Step 4: Complete the online application.
9. Enrollment
1) Successfully admitted candidates will receive an Admission Notice and
JW201 form (Visa form). These documents will be mailed directly to the
 permanent address of the applicant before July 31st.
2) The enrollment period takes place in early September. An official date will be
given on the applicant’s Admission Notice. All the admitted students must be
enrolled in LZJTU by the specified date of the Admission Notice. Failure to
do so will result in the admission notice becoming invalid.
