Organizing the classroom after my math lesson Groups work activity

Journal body (256 word)

During this week I was noticing that students were leaving their tables untidy after each
activity and their books were opened in the middle of the table without organization,
the crayons also was also around the classroom, I start asking them to close their books
after they finish the work and stop working if I ask them to stop during the activities.
However, I used a bell as a technique to control the classroom but , this strategy did not
work with grade 2 because the ring sound was loud and noisy ,students were not
interested in the ring because they used to use it when they were in grade 1 so, I
changed the plan and I used the countdown strategy from ten to zero to catch students
attention without losing time during the lesson. However, I noticed that students were
organized, and quick when the countdown started they were moving very quickly to get

ready for the next activity. This strategy worked because I connect it with black points
so if one student was late and he still working while the countdown finished he will get
two black points. Moreover, transferring from place to place is one of the most
important strategies that I was noticing during this week because it helps in giving
students the chance to be active and interested about the lesson so, during my lessons I
focused in transfer students from their groups to the carpet to give them the ability to
work in different places during the same lesson.
