SALE OF PROTECTED ANIMALS
Directorate of criminal investigation of special police of West Java area,
arrested the man with initials R (twenty-eight years) residence on Thrusday
afternoon, March 29, 2018. The man from Nanjung Village, Marga Asih
Subdistrict, Bandung regency was arrested after selling five species of eagle
protected and rare status. The eagle each is the alap-alap eagle, black and white
brontok eagle, black lit sea eagle, and the bondol eagle. Then the eagle was
confiscated and made into evidence. Police arrested the suspect after proving the
suspect of selling protected animals disguised as a consumer.
“The suspect is subject to Article 40 paragraph 2A of Laws of the
Republic of Indonesia Number 5 of 1990 on the Conservation of Biological
Resources and Ecosystems, with a five year criminal penalty and a maximum fine
of Rp. 100 million.” Said West Java regional police chief, Inspector General Budi
Maryoto at West Java police headquarters. To the police, the suspect claimed to
have sold the eagle since 2017 via online and social networking facebook.
Meanwhile, the protected animals are handed over to the conservation of natural
resources of West Java to be rehabilitated.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
The man with the initials KR (forty-one years) was secured by the local
police, following the domestic violence perpetrated against his biological child
and his wife. Citizens of Perumda Deket alley five, Subdistrict Deket, Lamongan,
is suspected to torture his wife MN (thirty-nine years), and his biological child
AW (fourteen years) with electric shock until both victims suffered injuries all
over body. According to the victim’s information, the suspect often commits the
act of violence if his wife and his biological child make mistake. The latest events
took place on the 26 and 27 of March, 2018. The suspect admitted regret with his
actions. A set of stun appliances confiscated officers to be used as evidence.
“As a result of the stun carried out by the suspect, now the victims,
especially the child suffered deep trauma with some parts of the body suffered
burns,” said Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Febby Hutagalung, Lamongan
Resort police chief.
For his actions, the suspect is threatened with Article 44 of the Laws of the
Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2004 on the abolition of domestic violence,
with the threat of five years in prison.

NATIONAL NARCOTICS AGENCY OF TEBING TINGGI REGENCY
DISMANTLE THE NETWORK OF DRUG SYNDICATES
Nine people a network of drug dealers secured by the National Narcotics
Agency of Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatra. This network of drug syndicates, has
been in operation for five years and is controlled by a person named Aidil Putra
Marpuang aka Memeng from Simalungun District High Court. Memeng is also
suspected of being a controlling drug trafficker from within the prison. This
illegitimate business was uncovered from the arrest of a perpetrator, Saldian, with
2,5 grams of shabu and two cell phones. Saldian was arrested at his residence in
Durian Village from a community report. Then, from the development of
inspection, the National Narcotics Agency officials also managed to arrest eight
other perpetrators.
“The National Narcotics Agency has long targeted this network and
continues to conduct surveillance and look forward to the right time to arrest it.
Indeed, it is suspected that the drug control comes from prison, and we will look
into this case again.” Said police commissioner Bambang Rubianto, Head of the
National Narcotics Agency of Tebing Tinggi Regency.
The National Narcotics Agency officers also managed to confiscate
evidence in the form of ten clear plastic containing shabu ready to spin weighing
2,5 grams, eight million rupiah, twelve mobile phone units, three motorcycle type
kawasaki, vario, and jupiter MX, three cards Automated Teller Machine, and one
sheet of drug transaction record. For his actions, the suspects are entangled with
layered articles about drug trafficking and money laundering with the threat of a
five-year prison sentence until the death penalty.
