ABSTRACT

The system develops designed such that it enables all the interested people to take the test
irrespective of the time. Whenever the User finds free times he can use the Online Exam and
assess his depth of knowledge.

The application starts by accessing the User name and Password form the User and
allows the User to select a subject in which he desires to take the exam. After selecting the
subject in which he desires to take the exam. After selecting the subject the instructions
regarding the Time limit, Total marks, Qualifying marks and percentage are displayed. Only if
he accepts to the terms and regulations, Questions screen is displayed to the User and is also
represented in Graphics in order to give a clear picture to the User.

The aim of “ONLINE EXAMINATION SYSTEM” is a Examination Process In a


College is an intranet based system for Students to provide examinations on different
Subjects.

Each student will have to give 3 levels of exams. For each student has to qualify each
level then only he can eligible for next level.

Also Restricting those student who have already qualified all the levels of Exams at
the end of training in terms Feedbacks and Program Reviews to identify the knowledge that
student has gained from Training.

This project is developed with Java as Front-End and Oracle as Back-End. The project
provides Graphical-User Interface (GUI).

 Student registration of various departments.


 Assigning exam dates and level of exam to the student.
 Updating the student exams results.
 Updating the student Profile.

1.1. PURPOSE :
The goals of “ONLINE EXAMINATION SYSTEM “are an Examination Process In a
College is an intranet based system for Students to provide examinations on different
Subjects.

the end of training in terms Feedbacks and Program Reviews to identify the knowledge that
student has gained from Training.
1.2. SCOPE:

This document is meant for use by the developers and will be the basis for developing the
final delivered system. The requirement changes to the document can be made due to changes
in the client needs, change in technology etc.

The proposed system is not limited presently. Presently we have to login to the system online
and post the bugs. We can further develop the system by using “Voice Recognition System”.
So this project has got scope to get developed in the near future. The scope of the project
exists throughout the life of the product development, testing and implementation.

1.3. Existing System:


In the other existing system, it does not allow the appearing candidates to
choose their subjects as per their choice and check the results. Other demerits which
are found in existing system are: It does not allow the admin to create dummy users at
the emergency time and set time interval of each questions and for each sections.
Secure login and concept of cookies and session has not been used to identify each
users and set time interval and session for each users. Admin has to set the questions
number and enter subject manually before entering question of that particular subject.
Admin do not have the facility to search questions subject wise and update at that point
of time. To update or delete any question, admin has to find question manually one by
one and perform operations such as delete and updates.

1.4. Proposed system:


The modern computerized system is developed with the aim to overcome the
drawbacks of existing system. The proposed system has got many advantages. People from
different parts of the world can register very easily. The new system is more personalized. It
is maze in such a manner that all the new users can understand all the options in it very not
easily.
It is made in a quick and easy referential manner. Access to all important matters are always
locked and can be opened easily at the time of urgency. The advantages of proposed system
are that security is maintained in the new system.

1.5. PROJECT ANALYSIS:

The project at the top level is divided into two modules. They are

 Users
 Administration
Users:

This module is mainly concentrated on handling the examination activities. The module
begins by offering entry to already registered users or even fresh users can also register the
moment they desire to attempt the Examination. This is achieved by the Login from and Sign
Up. These are designed in a very interactive form.

After registering, a candidate will be supervised by the rules and regulations of the
examination. i.e. the instructions to be followed for facing the examination be given, namely
duration of exam, Number of questions ,marks for each Question, Maximum marks,etc.,.

The next moment, the candidate be allowed to select the choice of subject of
examination. The candidate be given the question paper of the selected Subject. The paper
should be answered by checking the check boxes or Radio Buttons depending upon the
question.

The evaluation of the paper will be carried for the question that are answered within
the meantime. The total marks obtained will be displayed and the percentage will be calculated
for the total number of questions.

Administration:

The administration module consists of maintaining components of the examination.


The components namely

 Subject of Examination
 Questions of Subject.
The Subject of examination can be accessed for alteration. i.e. Addition of a Subject,
Updating of a subject, Deletion of a Subject and Listing of the Subject of Examination.

The Questions of examination can also be accessed and altered by performing the
following operations.i.e

 Addition of Questions
 Updation of Questions
 Deletion of Questions
In the Administration, the system is efficiently maintained by deleting the users who
already completed the examination. This is carried out for a period to period.

The system is mainly coded by viewing the user from all angles so that no problems
are arised in using the system.
