CHAPTER V

CONCLUSSION

After carrying out practical work at Dermoleng Flyover Construction


Project, a lot of experience and lessons are gained on the application of civil
engineering. From this practical work a lot of things obtained which
sometimes could not taught in lectures that known through theory only. By
following this practical work, it is expected tha the students insight about civil
engineering science could be expanded more broadly. Therefore this
practical work is very rewarding activity for the provision in the future.

From the results of observations on the field during practical work and
based on information obtained, conclusions and suggestions listed as follows.

5.1 Conclusion
Based on the experience and observation gained during
practical work, the conclusion could be drawn as follow.
1. Dermoleng Flyover was built to reduce the impact of traffic jams
caused by train crossing on provincial connecting road to the cities
in southern of Central Java.
2. Dermoleng flyover construction uses I shaped precast girder (PCI)
with post tensioned system which is manufactured precast concrete
block that has been casted ex-situ, then assembled and stressed to
unite the blocks into a beam span.
3. Coordination and management is well applied to the implementation
of Dermoleng Flyover Constyruction Project – Brebes by holding
internal and external meetings when needed.
4. Security and permission on construction works should be carried out
by coordinating with related parties. For example, on erection girder
work the contractor coordinates with PT.Kereta Api DAOP III.
Likewise for traffic security, the contractor coordinates with
Departement of Transportation.
5. Problems thoose exist during construction work get fast and
responsive solution.
6. Working relationship between Owner, Consultant, and Contractor is
good enough so the construction work could run smoothly.

5.2 Suggestion
In the implementation of Dermoleng Flyover Construction Project, there
are some problems that occur unexpectedly. Here are suggestions that
may be useful for the next future :
1. During practical work , sometimes encountered by workers who not
use safety equipment like helmetand vest. Therefore from the K3
parties, should improve further to the supervision and control system
against the discipline of workers.
2. Project quality control should be further tightened to avoid deviation
from agreed specification and impact to the structure.

3. There should be more intensive supervision to control the quality of


workers, materials, and job so that the construction process becomes
more effective.
