Job Responsibilities

As RF Drive Test Engineer

GSM

Conducting Drive for macro & micro sites to meet traffic and coverage
requirements.

Checking the handover performance between cells (Incoming / Outgoing HO).

Planning and re planning cell size antennas (Azimuth or tilt) and/or location to
meet traffic capacity & coverage needs.
Perform and Analyze drive test and generate reports with recommendations and
actions.
Drive Test using TEMS 10,11 & 12.
Using the TEMS observing the particular cell parameters such as Rx-level, Rx-
quality, C/I, C/A, SQI, HSN, MAIO, BER, FER etc.
Participate in technical discussions with the customer in order to gather product-
related information.
 Drive Test & Optimization Includes Checking the Signal Strength of a particular
NSN sites in a region and accordingly changing the tilts and orientation of the GSM
Antenna to improve the coverage area.
Propose the height reduction of Sectors if the signal is overshooting and co-
ordinate with the height reduction team.
Responsible for performing Pre-drive test and post-drive test for new site, BSC
migration Drive Test.
Completing the target of given number new of sites for drive and optimization on
or before time.
Responsible for Quality Assurance of total Drive.
Doing GPRS Drive Test also checking speed up link and down link frequencies.

UMTS

Monitored RSSI, RSCP, Ec/Io.

Finding out Pilot Pollution and removed by doing some Physical Optimization.
Verify with 3G Neighbor List and suggested addition and deletion.
Generated 3G Single site verification report
Monitor the events of soft and softer handover using the e1a, e1b, e1c, e1d
for insertion and removal of active set.
Monitor the IRAT HO using the e3a event message and quality measurement by
e2d, e2f events, UE TX power measurement using event 6d/6b.
Monitor and analyze the statistical drive test data to improve system
performance indicators such as drop calls, block calls, origination failures &
handoff features.
Evaluating the effectiveness of network by regular Voice & Video Drive Tests,
Data Drive Tests & its post analysis, remedial measures which include optimization
of sites.
