The dimension and the steel reinforcement of the plinth of foundation are estimated.
Also the dimension of the possible pole housing hole are estimated.
Is checked the maximum permissible pressure on the ground is not exceeded.
The value of the permissible pressure on the ground provided by the Customer and assumed in calculation
is 1.00 daN/cmq.
This one must be checked on site by the Works Management, in case of differing results during the works
execution it will be necessary to change the executive design of the foundation.
The plinth overturning stability is checked.
The lateral response of the ground is not considered since it was in favour of the stability.

Calculated internal forces at the bottom of the mast are indicated above (ULS).
Calculated internal forces for serviceability limit state are indicated above:
where serviceability partial safety factor have a value equal to unity (SLS).
N°1493 09/02/2016
6
Foundation is checked for maximum forces (SLS) acting at the bottom of the pole:
Reinforced concrete specific gravity is equal to 25 KN/m³, so the foundation weight is Pp = 17860 daN
The gravity of the ground acting over the plinth is equal to 16632 daN where the specific gravity
of the ground considered 18 KN/m³
Base foundation loads resultant is moved away the foundation barycenter because of bending moment.
Eccentricity value is equal to:
If this value is lower than A / 6, loads resultant is in the base foundation center of inertia.
Maximum pressure on ground is equal to:
σa = 1.00 daN/cmq
N°1493 09/02/2016
7
Foundation stability is checked using partial factors on actions in TABLE A.1 : EN 1997-1.
The overturning moment is equal to the moment at the bottom of the pole used for the structural check
The righting moment is calculated including pole, lantern, accessories weight and foundation weight with a
factor µg = 0.85.
where
. Mrd = M’ = design overturning moment = 16367 daNm
. Msd = 0.85 · N'’ · A/2 = design righting moment = 48322 daNm

σc = 12 daN/cmq

Foundation is checked for maximum forces (ULS) acting at the bottom of the pole:
Reinforced concrete specific gravity is equal to 25 KN/m³, so the foundation weight is Pp = 5040 daN
Base foundation loads resultant is moved away the foundation barycenter because of bending moment.
Eccentricity value is equal to:
If this value is greater than A / 6, loads resultant is not in the base foundation center of inertia.
It is necessary consider a reduced base section size:
Ar = 3 ∙ ( A / 2 - e) = 0.864 m
where γrv = 2.3 is the partial resistance factor for the foundation
fs = 3.0 is the safety factor

Foundation stability is checked using partial factors on actions in TABLE A.1 : EN 1997-1.
The overturning moment is equal to the moment at the bottom of the pole used for the structural check
(µg = 1.2 ; µp = 1.2 ; µw = 1.2).
The righting moment is calculated including pole, lantern, accessories weight and foundation weight with a
factor µg = 0.9.
