Summative Assessment | 4th Field Experience

Comments:

Alida stands out for her immense ability in understanding and connecting with difficult students. She is compassionate, creative, positive, sets high
standards, organizes explicit and differentiated lessons, units, centers, assessment tools, makes excellent use of technology and gets everyone
working in teams and "on the ball." The students can't help but model her energy and enthusiasm and fall in love with all that she offers especially her
care, patience and devotion as a teacher. Cycle three presented a challenging group of students with different needs yet Alida handled it very
successfully. She took great risks, was very intuitive, rationalized with her students, gave them support, guidelines yet independence to figure things
out, to ask questions and planned her lessons to be cross-curricular and meaningful. She connected very rapidly with a young girl who came from
Dubai and who was foreign to any school system. She interacted and worked very well with her and all the others and acquired a lot of experience
managing behavior, getting the students to dialogue through discussion circles and to bring their own devices to school for research and
lesson-related purposes. She worked on Math units in preparation for the end-of-cycle exam, completed a Unit study on the novel, "Holes", graded
all the students' work and handled many other responsibilities such as tutoring after school, attending all professional meetings and working on the
Year Book committee.

She bonded exceptionally with everyone in the staff room and in her school community as she is a true and dedicated professional in all that she
does. Whether in or outside of the classroom, she takes full charge responsibly and produces flawless results. Alida will make an ideal teacher in any
school setting and I wish her many happy and fruitful years in this wonderful profession. What an impact she will have on everyone who crosses her
path! I have admired you from day one Alida and have been very proud watching you teach with such passion and enthusiasm! Congratulations!
